I’am Secure with myself - sigil I made
~As with all posts, this is my take, my opinion, my knowledge. If you make your magick in a different way, great! Don't hate on other ways of the Craft. As I say again and again, there's no wrong way to witchcraft.~
☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕
Sun and Moon water can both be used in many different spells and all sorts of magick. These blessed waters are related to the sun and moon, respectively. They are some of the easiest to make, and most popular types of blessed water!
☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕☀️🌕
Usually made with water from the tap, well water, water from lakes and puddles, etc., but any kind of water can be used
spells for happiness/banishing negativity/banishing depression
Spells for wakefulness
Spells for health and healing
Watering sick plants or plants that don’t get enough sunlight
Spells, potions, and rites for energy
Spells for attracting prosperity
I like to wash my hair with sun water infused with lavender because it makes me feel happy :)
I use a clear glass jar, usually a mason jar
I set the water in my window to catch the sunlight from sunrise to sunset, removing the jar when it gets dark
Sometimes I put a citrine stone on top of/around the jar for an extra sunshine-kick
Then I use it in whatever way I please!
☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
Usually made with water from the tap, well water, clear stream water, or rain water, but can be made with any water you choose
Spells for peace, calm, and tranquility
Spells for purification
Spells and potions for sleep and chasing away nightmares
Spells for cleansing
Spells and rites for prophecy and divination
Can be used as water for tea to enhance the magick of the tea
Spells for attracting good fortune
I like to dab moon water on my wrists and behind my ears when I’m nervous to calm me and make me feel less insecure
I use a clear glass jar, usually a mason jar
I set the jar in my window or on my back porch from nightfall until dawn to catch the rays of the moon, removing the jar before sunrise
Sometimes I put moonstone and silver on/around the jar to give it an extra moonlight magick kick
I personally like to be aware of what phase the moon is in when I make moon water, and make many batches which I use for different things (e.g., waning moon water for banishing, full moon water for divination and prophecy, etc.)

And that’s my take on sun and moon water! Have a great day, witches! Blessed Be! 💕

Black salt, or Witch’s salt, is used primarily for banishment, protection, and repelling things or beings. However, it has also been used in curses/hexes and in rituals. It can protect physical spaces, against nightmares, against negative energy, harmful rumors, and unwelcomed people. It can also help with removing curses and dealing with negative thoughts and feelings, as well as getting rid of unwanted entities.
White salt (rock or regular)
Black pepper (whole kernels work best)
Charcoal (use activated charcoal to make it edible)
Ashes (any kind, but use coconut ash to make it edible, and use protective plant ash to make the protection effects stronger)
Optional: cast iron scrapings, coffee grounds, dirt
Grind together the ingredients with the help of a mortar and pestle. Use your intention and will while mixing to give it its power, remembering what you are using it for, the same as you would with a spell. Black salt will either be a spell as is or be a component of one in the future, so magically charging it while making it is just as important as it would be in any other kind of magical working. Mix all the components together until you have a mixture that has turned fully black and looks pretty uniform.
You can also add small bits of other herbs and spices to the mixture to make it more aggressive, protective, etc of a mixture, if you want a more targeted approach. Adding things like chili and paprika make it more aggressive, while things like rosemary or sage make it more protective, for example.
It has unrelated origins in Hoodoo, Western Alchemy, Appalachian folk magic, and European folk magic. Beyond that, a lot of the origins and history of black salt - as well as when it first began to be used - is hard to find.
The salt is for protection and purification or absorbing negative energy, the black pepper is for protection (especially from bad people) and warding or banishing negativity, the ashes are for concealing and protection (especially if ashes from protective plants are used), and the charcoal is used to get rid of bad magic. The optional iron scrapings are good for protection from various entities, while the optional coffee grounds are good for keeping out entities and for protection. The optional dirt is good for grounding, as well as whatever additions the type of dirt it is adds to the mixture (for example, graveyard dirt is good for warding and banishing, while dirt from the witch’s home is good for protecting the household).

I’ve gotten this question before, from other witches and myself: what do you do when your main power source sets for the night?
Nighttime is for shadows, things that are fundamentally different from who I am. The moon is my friend but also not my patron, so what’s there for me to draw strength from?
Well, like most things, it’s complicated. Every witch is an individual, and every sun witch will cope with the disappearance of the sun in a different way. Some will charge sigils or crystals during the day and use that as a back up until the sun rises.
Personally, I transfer my energy from the sun to the stars. All energies have at least some form of duality in their nature, sometimes many more facets than just duality.
The sun is no different, and for me, the star girl comes to life at night.
The stars are her cold light from eons away. I can feel weaker, true, but I accept that darkness is a welcome part of our being, and necessary for us to rest. I feel like some separation from the sun mother is good for me to recharge.
The stars are a much more gentle energy, cool and refreshing. I shine with a colder, white light, and I am much less grounded mentally. This is the time to think about the vastness of the universe beyond us, perhaps about how small we are, also shining like stars in the dark with our different energies.
The only time I am uncomfortable at night is when clouds cover the moon and stars. When I look up a see nothing but a black void bearing down on me. I become uncomfortable with no lights in the darkness.
I’d love to hear from other sun witches about what they do at night! Do you transfer your power to the moon? Do you just wait it out? Or don’t even think about it at all? I’m curious!
