Update: tried to make a cookie in a mug and made the World's Worst Mug Cookie. Texture of bad, dry sourdough and tastes like flour someone should ban me from the kitchen
drinking the World's Worst Hot Chocolate rn. like. It's a mix of cocoa powder, a little sugar, Milo and protein powder and way way too much water and a little almond milk. Tastes like nothing but hot but I've got a whole thermos full of this shit and by God am I going to drink it
So much of what society treats as a joke is just mocking disability. Their idea of lazy is a disabled person trying to survive, whether that be living with their parents as an adult or using pre prepared food. Cringe culture is based entirely around mocking neurodivergent people and their interests. Symptoms and characteristics of disability such as urgency issues, drooling, tremors, tics, strabismus and speech impediments are used as cheap punchlines.
In children’s tv shows disabled characters such as those with speech impediments are treated as a joke, with symptoms of disability being portrayed as synonymous to stupid.
This idea is being taught from a young age in the media and it’s engrained into our language and culture. This goes beyond jokes, it contributes to the alienation of people with disabilities.
Once you start noticing these things you realise how constant and normalised it is.
Reducing an entire person to a punchline is wrong. Using a disability symptom as an insult is wrong. It’s disturbing how normalised it is to not treat people with basic decency and respect.

a lot of you probably knows Belphie's story, but I'll summarize just in case.
Devon Rex cats are better for people with allergies (less shed fur + less Fel d1 protein in their saliva), so on February 16, 2024, I went the breeder route and put down a deposit. before Belphie even opened his eyes, he was mine.
every Friday, the breeder sent me a new photo. I had a broken leg, and was basically rotting in bed at that point, so it was the best part of my week. then, at 12 weeks old, I BROUGHT HIM HOME!
at first, he was so alive. like a wind-up monkey that never shut off. he dangled from the wall-hangings, savaged my feet as I walked, and used my elderly cats as jumping poles to do cool acrobatics over. but this all gradually faded.
first, he stopped playing. then he stopped climbing. then he stopped moving much at all. my vet ran tests on him and found multiple pathogens (calcivrius + mycoplasma), but the medication didn't help - he kept declining.
on September 17th, I woke up to find him swollen like a balloon. we finally had an answer: he had Feline infectious Peritonitis, aka FIP. before 2017, this would've been a death sentence. he would've kept bloating until he drowned in his own fluids. and before 2024, I would've been forced to inject him with black market drugs. but thankfully, South Tower Animal Hospital in Fergus, Ontario was doing a study on the oral medication! we drove two hours, enrolled him, and left with the GS-441524 pills.
and he went from those photos above.....to this:
I thought Belphie would die as a kitten. I'd accepted that he would never grow up. but now he gets to LIVE!
and all for the low cost of $7,553.....ahhhahaha........god.
that + a recent home disaster has wiped out my savings, but I still need to pay for Belphie's medication. to remain in this study, I need to do bloodwork monthly until Feb 2025, and he'll need daily pills until March 2025.
I've put a risograph print + enamel pin set at greerstothers.shop. I hate asking for help, but if you'd like to support Belphie's continued treatment, please consider checking them out!

idk who needs to read this but you can make things for yourself. Without excuses. People/friends/family are not owed things from you. And don't get me wrong, giving people gifts is one of my favorite things to do but I get so burned out by it.
My dad's favorite question when he sees me working on a new project is "who's it for?" and then looks vaguely disappointed in me when I say it's for myself 9 times out of 10 and then I feel guilty cause I feel like I make too many things for myself.
He is incorrect. Make things for yourself. I love making things for other people but I also love making things for myself, and I don't need to justify the second. Neither do you.
for when the tv knitting needs to be a shape, I have been referring back to this pdf for years for basic garter stuff. also handy when designing your own lace rot 😊
This too shall pass but like holy fuck
hi! here’s a list of almost every single anaysis Thing I’ve come across in like two months of being insane about the scottish play. Most are about lady macbeth/the gender theme btw.
‘He has no children’: The centring of grief in The Show Must Go Online’s Macbeth - Gemma Allred: on the misogyny that frequently surrounds conversations around Lady Macbeth
this post by @amillionmillionvoices: Same topic as the previous one, but goes more in depth, explains ladymac’s motivations as mostly coming from love not self-serving ambition.
this post by @dukeofbookingham: also explains the prior point very prettily— that ladymac is (mostly) motivated by love, but also makes the case that many of it is guilt born from not fulfilling societal expectations
On the character of Lady Macbeth - Dr. Emil Pfundheler: paper that explains the same point made in the previous post, using the text to explain. Written in 1873 so explains gender as a dichotomy, but once you take that out, its points are very good.
Characteristics of women: moral, political, and historical - Anna Jameson: aka Why Lady Macbeth is not inherently evil— same topic and the other two, but focuses a bit on the fact that she is A Woman. Not my favorite, but worth reading I suppose. Also includes analyses of many female Shakespeare characters. It does include some very bad history in the beginning— Gruoch did not orchestrate Duncan’s murder. That’s something Hector Boece made up.
Lady Macbeth: “Infirm of purpose” (from The Woman’s Part: Feminist Criticism of Shakespeare) - Joan Larsen Klein: on how she both fits and doesn’t fit the idea of a reinassance wife— doesn’t fit because she isn’t aligned to god (this read more like a Christian analysis than a feminist one if I’m being honest), but fits them because she behaves like one, only subverts them because she’s like, the evil murder girl version of the Wife. The essay right after this one is also very good.
The Hysteria of Lady Macbeth: required reading if you wanna play her Btw not kidding. Analyzes her character thru the lens of freudian psychology. Screws up the text of the play a bit but provides an actual in-depth explanation of how sonnambulism works. Note that “hysteria” is not a current psychological diagnosis, but a symptom of other conditions. Still extremely interesting.
The Macbeths - G. K. Chesterton: analysis of their relationship, makes some interesting point on the differences of the nature of their ambition and desire to kill the king
Shakespeare’s tragic frontier; the world of his final tragedies - Willard Farnham: this one is long but oh boy does it go deep. Talks about the lore of the witches, explains historical context to find out how the real events were so screwed up, makes an interesting point about Macbeth’s conscience against Lady Macbeth’s, and lastly talks about the tragic world of Macbeth compared to other tragedies.
Women’s fantasy of manhood: a Shakespearean theme - D. W. Harding: exactly what it says on the tin, using ladymac and her skewed (and I’d call romanticized) idea of what a man is that she pushes on Macbeth. So yeah, talks about the gender theme. Also talks about Goneril from Lear, Cleopatra, and Volumnia from Coriolanus and how they fit the theme— although ladymac is the only one who goes downhill from it.
Unnatural women in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth - Elizabeth Klett: I’ll be honest I didn’t love this one a lot. Basically talks about how every woman in Macbeth defies gender roles. Doesn’t go too deep however. But the book has a ton of essays analyzing female characters in classic lit.

watching a korean cooking show while eating lunch... they're making these delicious, high-concept dishes while I'm eating overcooked pasta with melted mozzarella... life is so unfair ( ´△`)
I HATE disaster movies. I get actual, real world anxious about them
Like, I understand on a conscious level that the movie is fake, it's just acting, noone is actually dying, but the deepest depths of my lizard brain go flllooood?? Earthquake?! Oh noooo we're gonna die! Better give her three extra shots of adrenaline and an actual anxiety attack :)!

sick today... \(_ _) nauseous and my back hurts. but I'm making progress on my blanket!
about a year ago, I started to try and make a blanket (a bad idea! Do not do this if you have a shorter attention span!) and it's going pretty well. I have about 10 squares of purple, cream and yellow crochet and knit, and i cannot wait until this project is over (*^^*)
i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.
there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.
please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends

here are my two video links that provide proof and testimonials of this harmful product:

Olympics are done, Paralympics are done... now can I say how sad is gonna be randomly turning on the TV and not finding a semi-unknown sport played astonishingly well by somebody whose last name I can't pronounce?
Do u have any tbhk theories?? And if not, do you have any tbhk aus or hcs? :3
I’m not a big theory person (although I wish I was lol), but I do like hearing about other people’s theories!! I’m usually the Negative Nancy who disproves theories that don’t make a lot of sense but here are some TBHK theories I’ve seen that I actually really like:
• Nene is going to end the series becoming a School Mystery, likely creating a new place as 8th
• Katakuri is a Yashiro
• Kou is going to act as an antagonist this arc, similar to Hanako during the PP arc
• Nagisa will have a bigger role later on (this theory is actually my own lol but it’s more speculation)
• Hanako’s abilities come from the entity (I mean this is like painfully obvious to me)
• Sakura is the former No.7, or she will take Hanako’s place as No.7 by the end of the series. Idk how realistic this one is but it would be cool
I know a lot of fans don’t want Nene to die, and I would be devastated too but with character deaths I tend to think about what would be most interesting for the plot. I don’t want her to die just so she can be with Hanako tho, I actually strongly believe he’s not making it to the end of the series lol. Anyways I hope some of these sound interesting to you!!
