Repost of Instagram post by alessandra_sanguinetti:
“In 2004 I worked as an intern in Newsweek and had to go through the wires coming in from the Middle East.
The Iraq war was raging. Israel was committing its routine violations and killings.
The images were devastating and unequivocally condemning of both the USA and Israel, but I remember the editors would reject all my picks and demand images of burnt cars or vague images of destruction.
So I brought a hard drive and collected everything they didn't publish.
It was my first live glimpse of the lack of ethics or integrity in most US media.
Not the journalists on the ground, but of the senior editors making the calls - in their self important glass cubicles.
And no, to the cynics out there..it's not all too complicated to discuss on social media.
Social media is the only reason we know what's happening in Palestine.
And the only reason mainstream news has to keep up and sprinkle some actual news now and then.
Meanwhile we are seeing much less footage coming out of Gaza - Israel has been killing off all the journalists.
This is terrifying.”

Wishing I could draw again, like, I wish I could put my words along side my art. Being able to tell stories through imagery instead of just written word has such a different feeling to it.
This means I want to express the gut wrenching feeling I write visually but also,,,, I wanna draw some of my little guys smooching and being happy too
oh to be a migrating bird flying through beautiful skies, sunrises and sunsets feeling like im floating on clouds while sun rays keep me warm
finished ugly betty, loved it, did wish the timeline of the last season was moved up and we got to see her in london more but ig that was the point
why do you want the "violent" one to be racialized so bad... 😬
you labeling Jason as the "violent" one is quite a good example of why.
because you understand why it's bad for someone racialized to be seen as violent, but feel comfortable enough to associate him with violence despite his upbringing, because race weights more than class ever will on people's mind, him playing house with Bruce for three years doesn't erase what he lived through and more people (DC writers included) should keep it in mind.
So many of my favorite scenes, not that consequential for the overall plot but contributing so much to the characters and the world, are gone. Tally and Shays library prank and Shay reassuring Tally that she is beautiful in a quite bi reading way. SPAGBOL. Them going through old Rustie media. David explaining that every civilization has its weaknesses. Tally and Shay cuddling.
But also that is a general problem with the movie format, there just is more space in a book.

Prompt the bats rubbing each other faces like they're cats:
It's their way to show that they're okay, after a particular hard fight Bruce's is laying down in the cave's infirmary trying to make sure Dick is okay, because he was pretty beaten up too. Dick is not in the most talkative mood after the whole altercation and just rubs his face against Bruce's to show that he was awake and well. It becomes their thing whenever they're having a hard time.
With Jason, Dick is the one who starts it first, he'll rub his face against Jason's after every patrol and despite it pissing him off at first, Jason started to rub his face back after some time, Bruce started doing it to the two of them whenever Nightwing was in the city.
Tim gets his first bat face rub well into eight months as Robin, just after a Joker attack, Bruce had a bad flashback, it was a whole shitshow. After getting Joker back to Arkham, Batman couldn't drive back and while they waited inside the batmobile, Bruce brought Tim closer to him and rubbed his chin on his hair until Nightwing came to their rescue.
On her "deathbed" Stephanie gets her first face rub from Batman, it's a comfort thing more than anything, he's holding her hand and telling her that everything is going to be okay.
these freaky ass niggas bakugo and midoriya making blood packs ... they love each other sooo bad
