being in your early 20s is crazy bc there’s people who are literally married and people who’ve never even dated and people who are trapped in their childhood bedrooms waiting to get out and people who are trying to live out romanticized dream lives and people who are completely on their own and people with multi tiered support systems and we’re all supposedly peers and none of us think we’re doing it right at all
this woman is releasing variant in colors of the rainbow flag 🌈

Of course she is 🙃 remember the cover of wildest dreams (taylors version)? Then all the midnights vinyls had rainbow lettering when all stacked together. Yeah she loves her little Easter eggs.

Full Part 1 HERE
Quick recap, I recently posted my thoughts on Taylor's performance of Anti Hero on the Eras tour and pointed out how she ends this song in this very famous pose from Matilda the musical.
I concluded from this that she's signaling that she's taking charge of her own story and changing the ending, much like Matilda is in the song this pose is from.
Some of you lovely people then pointed me towards a Harry Styles song called 'Matilda' in the comments on my previous post. Out of curiosity I looked this song up and what I found has given me enough food for thought to make a part 2 of this theory.
Harry Styles - Matilda (2022)
So, this song called 'Matilda' came out on Harry's 2022 album 'Harry's House' and feels to me like a very seven-esque contemplation on one's childhood, especially a childhood where you were never properly loved by your family the way they should have loved you (possibly as a result of homophobia/religious beliefs). The lyrics are:
Matilda, you talk of the pain like it's all alright But I know that you feel like a piece of you's dead inside You showed me a power that is strong enough to bring sun to the darkest days It's none of my business, but it's just been on my mind
You can let it go You can throw a party full of everyone you know And not invite your family, 'cause they never showed you love You don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up
[...]You can let it go You can throw a party full of everyone you know You can start a family who will always show you love You don't have to be sorry, no
And this is what Harry said about this song in an interview for Apple Music on the release of the album in May 2022:
So Harry wrote this song about someone he met that revealed some secrets to him and the 'disguise' as Matilda makes me think that person was a woman. Matilda from the Roald Dahl novel is one of the most famous female lead characters in British children's literature and she is world famous for outsmarting her hateful family and school bullies to reach her happy ending. I'm not going to claim that this song is definitely about Taylor, but the lines I've highlighted in orange in the lyrics are giving me The Archer and Daylight vibes. He's saying it's ok to let it go and step into the light and start your own family with those that love you for who you are (which btw I think is not referring to an actual family but the 'family' of fans. This would also make sense with the depiction of the fans as members of her family fighting over her will in the funeral scene in the Anti Hero mv). The line 'you don't have to be sorry' also gives me 'pathological people pleaser' vibes and he's saying it's ok not to please everybody all of the time.
Harry and Taylor and the whole f*cking story
So, is Harry sending a message to Taylor in this song? Personally, I think yes, this is him saying 'I've got your back' and claiming his part in her story, much like Taylor Lautner appearing in a music video and backflipping onto the stage at the tour. Whether you believe these men are her exes or her ex beards, they have played an important part in her public narrative and the ones she's close to are coming out in support of her, ready to defend her if needed. And I think this is a vital step in this soft launch of a mainstream Gaylor narrative. If and when the fans point their fingers to the men she has dated publicly and scream of betrayal, it's important to have their side of the story line up with hers and show that she is on good terms with them. It would be impossible for someone as famous as Taylor Swift, who has only ever publicly dated other famous men, to come out without it ricocheting across the entire industry. And it's probably one of my personal greatest indicators that something is different this time around, how much all of her famous friends and even exes are showing their support for this narrative and are loudly joining the conversation. It's happening and they're all behind her. So 'Matilda' is Harry's way of saying he was listening to her, and Taylor's AH Matilda pose is her acknowledging that and recognizing what he has done for her.
And for those Harry Styles fans out there, I hear that the 1989 TV version of Style has been trademarked with Harry as a co-owner, so I think it isn't impossible that we might be getting a collaboration between these two for 1989 (TV). Who knows, Harry might even come out on stage with her on the next leg of the Eras tour, now that exile has ended, I think all is possible 😊
what if i told you none of it was accidental
