Ok but Sam this episode was just incredible.
Consistently, when faced with difficult situations where conflict is easy, he chooses to communicate. This is something even Steve didn't do all the time (Civil War, or even when he meets himself in Endgame)--but Sam chooses to talk things through and deescalate. To try to understand the other party. To make peace.
When Walker shows up, trying to kill Karli and take Zemo, Sam says no. Karli is vulnerable and struggling with grief, and is fighting against a world that seems hell-bent on keeping her down; Sam understands her struggle and wants to talk her through it. To counsel her.
And that's because Sam is a counselor, but also because he's just a very empathetic person. He cares about people. He cares about Bucky even when Bucky has been harsh towards him (and Bucky begins to soften because of this); he cares about Sharon despite Sharon's bitterness (and Sharon helps them because of this); he cares about Karli despite her crimes and how dangerous she is (and she listens to him because of this). We are shown time and time again that Sam has a remarkable ability to unite people. To bring healing within the pain.
It's Walker, the gun hiding behind the shield, who consistently ruins this. He's angry, arrogant, and divisive, and he knows that he's not as effective as Sam, but he doesn't care. He wants what he wants, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to get it. His reckless actions ultimately end in the death of Lemar and one of the Flag Smashers. If he had listened to Sam, if he had waited, that could have been avoided; but he is one of only two characters who doesn't listen to Sam, who won't trust that Sam knows what he's doing. Even Lemar, Walker's partner, is willing to follow Sam's plan. The only other character that undercuts Sam's plans is Zemo.
Zemo does this because he has an alternate agenda, which we as the audience have been given glimpses into but don't fully understand. But Walker's agenda is clear. He wants to be the top dog. He wants people to respect him, to follow (read: obey) him, to think of him as Captain America. But no one does this. And his lax morals combine with his rage and ambition and lead him to take the super soldier serum. He's doing everything he can to outpace Sam, and in doing so, he bloodies and destroys the legacy he was supposed to uphold.
But Sam has never needed the serum. Sam, like Walker, was a soldier. Now, he's just a man, who knows how to fight. But unlike Walker, he also knows how to lay down his arms. He knows when to listen instead of shouting orders. He knows when to make peace instead of war. He's more than just a soldier, and that's why he doesn't need the serum, or the shield, to lead, to be respected, and to do what's right.
Because Sam Wilson is a good man.
Y’all, we need to talk about something.
When tfatws was about to come about I saw some posts along the lines of “you better support Anthony as much as Sebastian” and things like that and I thought they were being dramatic. Bucky has been one of my favorite characters since the first avenger but the thing that sparked this show and letting them work together were the press junkets for civil war. I still watch videos of those but you have to admits that Anthony is the one pulling the weight, he and Sebastian play off of each other really well, but he’s the one pushing most of the jokes. This is what really made me start to respect Anthony so much more and enjoy his acting as much as Sebastian’s. I figured that y’all would do the same.
Then the first episode came out, and I saw a lot of stuff about Bucky and not a lot about Sam, and I get it, Bucky has the bigger fan base to begin with, but I thought it would level out. I see people being devastated by Bucky’s remorse and mental turmoil, I see next to nothing about Sam’s guilt and the pain of being denied because of racism, I understand it’s a less comfortable topic, but it shouldn’t be.
Next episode comes out, any talk about the huge, really painful for me moments that deal with serious racism not only in general but in America, gets talked over by people either complaining about John Walker or complaining about people harassing Wyatt Russell. I get it, he sucks, but not as much as blatantly racist police 🤷.
The third episode comes out, and this was the last straw. I see people talking about Zemo, ZEMO, and his fun little dance and his coat and “Zemo is... kinda hot?” And NOTHING about Sam. Y’all will literally simp for any white man over a black man, huh. I’ve seen people are due that everyone has different preferences but when those preferences only exist because you were fed racist views then they’re not an excuse. It hurts extra when you’ve seen Anthony Mackie say that every white man he plays opposite of gets rocketed into fame while he doesn’t. Look at his work and tell me it isn’t happening. I know a lot of us are already invested in Bucky and have been for a while, but it is a choice that you can consciously make to reflect on what you’re saying and posting and if you really payed attention to Anthony or any of the other characters (it hasn’t slipped my notice that no one is talking about Sharon either). Do better, be aware, make an effort. Alright I’m done.
THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER (2021) | 1x03: Power Broker
One of the most hilarious scenes in the entire movie😂😂😂
🥺🥺🥺
“I want to hold your hand,” I say softly. Because we’re in public. Because I don’t know if he’s out. “So hold it,” he says. And I do.
Ah chills, literal chills

Girls don’t want boys girls want good storylines, canon otps, and their favorite female characters to get what they deserve
Big mood
self reflection is a good thing but too much self analysis is so exhausting. constantly questioning your own motives and how you're being perceived and whether or not you're being real and what's authentic leads to such a convoluted mentality like. u don't even know who you are cause you just end up being a case study and not a person. i just want to let myself move through the world for a moment
yeah
An ICON™
Karthik “I’m a cocky little shit” Singh really insulted his bf’s homophobic father and said “I fucked your son” in the same breath. Fucking Speechless.

YES YES YES
"I have died everyday waiting for you"
- me, thinking about smzs
That's it this is Canon now
the real fix it is that chapter two never happened. we all know the theory that chapter two was just what bev saw in the deadlights, right? so I really want to see her going out of her way to make sure (most of) what she saw never happens
knowing she’ll forget as soon as she leaves, bev starts making notes about the future on little cards, agnus nutter style. save many a problem that way
as soon as she can, she writes on the postcard ben gave her with the poem - your hair is winter fire, january embers, my heart burns there too - in big letters BEN HANSCOM WROTE THIS
she never gets married, knowing she ends up with someone just like her father
some years later, mike learns that IT has returned and he sets about calling his old friends only the day before he receives an anonymous letter. DO NOT CALL STANLEY URIS. LET HIM BE. YOU CAN DO IT WITHOUT HIM, LET HIM REST. IF YOU SO MUCH AS THINK ABOUT CALLING STANLEY URIS I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND CHOP YOUR DICK OFF. mike doesn’t call stan
the day they meet up at the jade comes and before ben can even say his quip about passwords, bev’s in his arms hugging him. he’s like ??? but okay
richie: *watching eddie* / bev, leans over: I know about r+e on the kissing bridge you useless gay bitch / richie: what the fuck?
mike being like ‘okay so we all need to collect tokens from our childhood so we can sacrifice it in a native american ritual’ whilst bev just rolls her eyes ‘the ritual’s bullshit mike. we just have to bully the fucker to death’. at this point everyone is legit scared of bev and just go with it
bev quickly tells ben she knows he was the one who wrote the poem and his little heart soars
eddie’s about to go into his room one night when bev stops him like ‘yeah don’t go in there’ and he’s like ‘?? why not??’ and she just kicks the door open and punches bowers’ in the fucking throat
bev: do you want to save that kid’s life? / bill: w-w-what are you t-t-talking- / bev: little kid, curly hair, really chill. you’re worried he’ll be the next georgie. do you want to save him? / bill: y-y-yeah? / bev, puts her hand on his shoulder: then you have to kidnap him
everyone getting ready to fight IT and eddie being all ‘okay neibolt is not my favourite place but I’ll do anything for you guys’ and bev just spins the fuck around like ‘you’re not going’. eddie is like really hurt because he wants to help and the more of them, the better. she makes him promise not to leave the hotel to come after them
even then she locks every door behind her, making sure eddie is safe and sound in the hotel room. during the drive to neibolt bev turns to richie and said ‘I watched you lose him once, I’m not doing that again’
they beat the shit out of spider-wise pretty easily and start chanting ‘clown’ from the off, and rip IT’s fucking heart out. piece of cake
finally they’d done it and bev could have a well earned rest
when they get back to the hotel and free eddie, he and richie disappear for a bit and the others don’t need to be told where they’ve gone. they return half an hour later holding hands
this is when mike calls stan and says ‘hey buddy it’s mike hanlon from derry. I just want you to know, it’s over. IT’s dead. the others are all here and we would love it if you joined us’
stan arrives, takes one look at richie and eddie holding hands and sighs deeply. he’s missed this. he’s missed them
everything is fine, only the villain died and everyone is happy
Richie tozier, oldest child
hey if you’re attached to the characters in the clown movie can y’all reblog this post and tag it with your favourite member of the losers club and whether you’re the oldest/middle/youngest sibling or an only child?? I’m curious to see if there’s a correlation
😂😂😂
Eddie: No, no, Rich. We can’t go. My mom is going to be out late tonight and we have to “study.”
Richie: Study? No way, Eddie. I’m going to the club!
Eddie: No, Richie. You’re coming over to my house tonight. And we’re gonna…
Eddie: [looks at other losers]
Eddie: Study.
Richie: Fine! [pouts] I never get to do anything fun.
Stan: God, Richie, you’re dumb.
Richie: Well, I guess that’s why I’ve gotta go study.
The dream crossover, this is scarily accurate
Mike: Tell me about the Losers’ club.
Bill: [Gestures to Stan with his bird book]. Stan, he doesn’t really like things that go against logic. So he does a lot of bird watching. Pretty much worthless in shenanigans.
Mike: Copy that.
Bill: Now the others. Bev Marsh: tough, smart, hard to read, and scary as hell.
[Flashback to Christmas time]
Bev: Tell me who has me for secret Santa.
Ben: No! That takes all the fun out of it.
[Bev stares daggers at Ben].
Ben: It’s Stan. He got you a scarf. It’s blue and ugly. I’ll make him return it.
Bill: Ben Hanscom: He’s a grinder. He works harder than anyone else. He’s not physically…gifted.
[Flashback: Ben unwraps a muffin, then drops it on the ground].
Ben: Awww man! My muffin!
[Goes to pick up the muffin but smacks his head on the desk.]
Ben: Ow! My head! My muffin and my head!
Bill: Eddie Kaspbrak: his mom tells everyone he’s always sick. Gets underestimated because of it, so he’s always trying to prove he’s tough.
[Flashback to Eddie putting hot sauce on his sandwich. He sees Stan watching].
Eddie: You think I can’t handle this much hot sauce? I can handle way more than this. [Eddie pours hot sauce onto sandwich and takes a bite].
Eddie: [in agony]. In…your…face.
Stan: I didn’t say anything.
Mike: Tell me about Richie.
Bill: Richie is our trashmouth. He likes making jokes and he loves solving puzzles. The only puzzle he hasn’t solved…is how to grow up.
Mike: That’s very well put.
Bill: I’ve talked a lot about Richie in my weekly therapy sessions.
This is amazing
i promise that i’ll stop making art for the clown movie eventually
