Honestly one of my favorite headcanons is that Martin was embezzling funds from the institute AND from Peter Lucas personal. Like yeah he's being psychologically tormented and manipulated and 100% expects death when Peter's done with him but he's isn't gonna die broke.

"This is disgusting to me" is totally valid.
"I don't want to read this because it is disgusting to me" is totally valid.
"I don't think anyone should be allowed to read or write this because it is disgusting to me" is authoritarian.

The more boring and mundane Michael Shelley is portrayed as the more psychological damage I take from the idea of Michael and Gerry's ship.
Because the thought of Gerry, someone who was forced into a world of horrors at a young age, finding solace with the most normal guy alive who just wants to have an average life is so bittersweet in a way that lives nonstop in my head.
(And so angsty too if you think the idea of Gerry finally getting a normal life with his normal boyfriend for a little while, only to have his "normal" boyfriend turn up as a monster and pull him back into the world he only had a brief escape from.)

Does anyone else think about how Oliver Banks was Lonely? He was so afraid of the death that followed him that he risked everything to sail as far away from life and humanity as possible, which is awfully reminiscent of Peter Lucas.
But the thing is, even when he wasn’t heading to Point Nemo, he was still isolated. He would be just as alone in a bustling city as he would be in the middle of the ocean. Because even as he walks amongst others, he is still surrounded by only the dead.
He cannot get close to other people because he can’t see them as people, only as the corpses they will one day become. And that may be one of the Loneliest fates of all.

Martim and Jonsasha are criminally underrated. Martin and Tim’s dynamic has the duality of being really sweet (Working through each other’s pasts, Tim loving to fluster Martin then getting surprised when Martin has his own quips ) or incredibly tragic (Martin losing Tim to his paranoia after s2). Jonsasha? They’re the ultimate insufferable nerd couple. They have three cats. They crochet and spend hours on crosswords together. Half their conversations are just infodumping at each other.
