In terms of how good their grades were at Beacon, the ranking for team RWBY from best to worst is as follows:
Yang
Weiss
Ruby
Blake
Yang above Weiss, you ask? It’s simple really. Weiss grew up with private tutors pretty much always available to her. Yang, on the other hand, learned how to study on her own to the point that she could make top marks without a ton of effort. Weiss studies intensively, so as to compensate for not having tutors. And it royally pisses Weiss off when after all that extra work, Yang still makes better grades than her. Yang just excels at self-taught stuff. She built a whole-ass motorcycle herself, for Brothers’ sake!
As for Ruby, she sorta has the same studying ability as her sister, but just doesn’t perform as well academically. She was solidly in B’s and C’s territory.
Blake is a little cheating shit gremlin. She will copy off of you. She will plagiarize. She doesn’t have much formal schooling at all, so it’s understandable. She might read a lot, but she reads solely for pleasure. She won’t read shit if it’s for an assignment. Her huntress training skills make up for it, and her team helping her with assignments keeps her head above C-level. She’s very intelligent, she just cannot be bothered with this stuck-up Human academia stuff, she’s here to learn to fight.
What if we get Cinder using polarity, or hints of it, some shot where you can see metal panels shifting in the background?
Well with another Maiden fight at Amity, we may be seeing the retirement of the Pyre theory soon.
Shout out to my friend @knightfallcravin for getting their art posted on the RWBY subreddit. Legit mage me smile! ❤️💙💜💛
Have you ever done Winter Knight headcanons? SFW and/or NSFW?
Send me a character/ship and I’ll tell you some headcanons
(please let me know if you want nsfw in is)
SFW
Ok, but like Jaune doing something clumsy, like accidentally tripping, or he gets lowkey humiliated in some way
And Winter chuckles at him
It’s more of a snort but Jaune still catches it
And he can’t help but go wide eye at how cute it was
And Winter is embarrassed as hell
But Jaune loves it so much and desperately tries to get her to do it again
Winter does fencing practice with Jaune
And she manages to pin him down
And Jaune’s heart is beating out of his chest
So he leans up to kiss her
And she is so flustered that she blasts him through a wall
NSFW
Winter wears heels and steps on Jaune
Jaune tied up and kneeling before her as she smirks down at him
Winter blushes at pda, but the moment they are behind closed doors, she is all about it
Mostly, because she’s in control of what goes on there and so can mentally prepare herself for it
Jaune doesn’t mind, he likes her being in control
They sometimes try to switch it up
Sometimes it works out well
Other times, she has to safeword out
It’s ok, they’ll just try again
She’s fine with blindfolds but cuffs can be too much
They use soft fabric, something she can tear out of
I’ve always loved a theory I saw that the vault isn’t even in Beacon either.
There’s some logic to support this, but it isn’t concrete:
The relic of choice getting hidden right under the spot where where partnered students choose their teammates.
The relic draws grim to it. The forest has more grim than we ever saw in the wild in Anima, for instance. But it would be regularly cleared out by students training in it.
The forest is wired up with cameras, supposedly just to monitor initiation, but Grimm Eclipse up and calls it a security system.
It’s not perfect, but I do love the idea.
So we know that the Relic of Choice is hidden differently to other relics, but I think I may have an idea on whereabouts it may be, or at least the door to it.
There’s a lot we can discern from the Vault under Haven Academy and later Atlas Academy. Each Vault is accessible via a tall, thin trapezium door which is unlocked by the touch of a maiden.
The Spring Vault is that of a dreamlike desert landscape, a single biome that stretches to the Horizon - a pocket dimension of sorts. The fact that it is a desert is to make it abundantly clear that this is not part of Haven, nor even Mistral.
I would say it’s easiest to assume that Atlas and Vacuo’s vaults have similarly contrasting biomes to the kingdoms they’re housed in - for example, Atlas’s may be a green forest, while Vacuo’s might be comprised of waterfalls and lakes. Being magical, these vaults probably aren’t beholden to the whims of time and therefore likely stay as they are, year around.
You’re probably wondering where I’m going with this.
Each vault is an almost unnatural biome.
Each vault stands out against its home kingdom.
The vaults probably don’t change based on natural-world time.
Now where have we seen something like that around Beacon?
Oh yeah, Forever Fall.
There’s a place in Vale that is noted to literally be always Fall. Not beholden to the passage of seasons or time, for no particular explained reason. (Unless…)
Volume 3 shows us fall, and its trees aren’t as bright red as Forever Fall’s are - they’re a more natural orange. Volume 1 makes a point of showing us this place twice, once in the Black Trailer and again in the Jaunedice arc, and yet never explains why it’s how it is. Jaunedice could have just as easily (if not more easily due to budget) occurred in the Emerald Forest again. But they choice to show us Forever Fall.
Forever Fall. Beacon’s vault needing the Fall Maiden. Forever Fall looking somewhat more fantasy than the rest of Remnant.
I’m not sure whether Beacon’s vault is located in Forever Fall, or if it is Forever Fall, or if it’s even goddamn open already and has leaked out into Forever Fall, but it’s something to do with goddamn Forever Fall.
Be nice to Hachishaku-sama, she’s not as tall but she can run as fast as a van.
Lady Alcina probably can’t do that...
Hachishakusama (8 feet tall demon woman): That's a big mommy~
RE8 Vampire lady (over 9 feet tall): That's a bigger mommy~
Ruby: daddy i have a boyfriend
Tai: really?
Ruby: his name is jaune.
Tai:(holding a shotgun) and where does jaune live?
Ruby:…
...The voucher is actually for a couples spa day isn’t it?
Jaune you dense dork, those women are going to ruin you.
Ace Ops Jaune AU: Does Jaune give any Valentine gifts to Elm and Harriet?
“Well, yeah I did. I just thought it would be kind of a nice gesture. Also maybe help me fit into the team a bit more. I got Elm these new weights that have gravity dust incorporated into them for her to try out along with some milk chocolate covered pretzels.” Jaune forgot to mention that they were small folded pretzels and with the chocolate on them made them look like small hearts. “I gave Harriet a new pair of shoes she can go jogging with and some chocolate covered marshmallows.” Jaune didn’t know those marshmallows had some lines written on the chocolate like ‘I love you’ or ‘you’re gorgeous’.
“I didn’t just get some for them though. I got some chocolates and stuff for the whole team. I gave Clover a bottle of whisky with a small jade horseshoe tied around the neck of a bottle. I got some classical and meditative music for fine Vine, along with a small joke book haha.” Jaune chuckled awkwardly, remembering how awkward it was to actually hand the stoic man those things. He didn’t even seem phased. Jaune coughed into his hand and recomposed himself. “Lastly, I got Marrow the same coffee maker I use and offered to show him how to make the kind that he really likes.”
Jaune took in a deep breath after that long explanation. “I’m not sure if they liked them or not, but I figured holidays are a good day to bond with others. I thought it couldn’t hurt to get them something. I even got something for Specialist Schnee, maybe it’ll help her warm up to me more.”
Jaune’s eyes shot open in realization. “Oh crap that reminds me! I still have to give it to her!” Jaune ran off without another word, rushing off to find Winter to give her her own chocolates and a voucher for a full trip to a spa in Atlas.
Why do I imagine Jaune pulling out a perfectly forged fake fed id, like he just made one in case he needs it?
Officer Yang: You’re under arrest Vomit Boy!
Jaune, playing along: Oh, and why might that be officer?
Yang, winking: For being hella cute~
Jaune, flirtatiously: Oh no~ Surely there’s ‘something’ I can do to make this all go away…?
Yang, leaning in: Oh, I’m sure we could arrange something…
Jaune: Unfortunately I’m an undercover fed. You’re under arrest for misuse of government-granted authority.
Yang: Ah dammit.
Good points on all fronts. A ton of people say Jaune should have a sidearm, but it just works better if it has an emotional meaning instead of just a practical one. It would be cute if Neo gave Jaune a little boot knife or something.
For Neo, if you were restarting it tomorrow, I’d say to just have her grab a spare cane of Roman’s, or spare parts? Have her rebuild it into a heavy derringer or flintlock thing, would suit her aesthetic more.
I have a question or rather a wish for a secondary weapon for jaune from volume 1 practically ... so if jaune and neo are together I couldn't teach him to use something like a dagger or a hidden weapon in his clothes something like the hidden dagger by assasincred (or whatever you type) or a pistol like the RK5 from COD
I agree Jaune could use some kind of variable attacks. Once I started writing for the characters, I realized how limited he can be. However, Jaune’s weapons have followed his character growth pretty well.
Vol 1-3, Jaune began with the hand-me-down that his great great grandfather used to ‘fight in the war’ because he didn’t go to a combat school to make his own weapon. He faked his way into Beacon. He had to fake his weapon too, and probably snagged the one thing on the wall he could use.
Vol 4-6, Jaune uses Miló and Akoūo to reinforce his shield and armor. The weapon can now become a longsword, focusing all of his defense into an offensive weapon. Why? Because he didn’t care about what happened to himself anymore, he cared about fighting Cinder again. He even says in the Vol 5 finale that his life didn’t matter anymore.
Vol 7-8, we see Jaune shift away from offense (after his talk at Pyrrha’s statue with her mother) and focus on leading his team and defense. His shield can now cover 3 people easily, the gravity dust can repel anyone who gets close, and the shield grenade can protect the people he cares about that he can’t reach in time.
If anything, I feel like Jaune might take Vine’s suggestion in extending his aura into his weapons. One possibility being what Qrow does. We saw in Vol 4 that Qrow can swing his sword at Tyrian and a building a dozen yards away loses its roof. And those gusts of air as Jaune swung his sword to Pyrrha’s videos might be the start of that
As for Neo There’s this scene in my fic where she and Jaune go to meet Lil’ Miss Malachite. In my original version, Neo buys an ice dust pistol from her, expecting to have to deal with Cinder’s fire attacks. While expanding her range considerably, it didn’t feel right for her character. I’ve been considering incorporating a dust launcher like Roman had to her repertoire but we’ll see what Atlas has in store for her
Yang: *Being Super Thirsty*
Jaune: I NEED AN ADULT!
Goodwitch: *Thirsty Milf* Yes?~
Jaune: Oh no! *Gets dragged off to Goodwitch’s office by Yang and Glynda*
