FYI, there is someone tracking the 'sherlock' and 'holmes' tags (perhaps more tags are affected, but these are the ones that we are aware of). That someone targets people who create new posts in these tags - be it text posts, gifsets or edits - and use this copypasta template in order to send anonymous hate and unsolicited accusations to the content creators (either that, or all of us hacked their computer, Microsoft word and private Tumblr in unison and stole all of their private work without crediting it. Also, let’s pretend that the incorrect quote in this case is not a public joke and that none of the sources has been stated :D). 

Below you can find a couple of examples - everyone involved has been very kind and agreed for these to be shared in here as a warning to others:   1. @winter2112rose was attacked in this nasty post:

These are only a few examples of creators that have been inappropriately targeted and accused by this person / or a group of people that have obviously too much time on their hands.

If you do get a message similar to these, save your energy. Do not try to engage in a conversation with a bully - be kind to yourself, you deserve it! Ignore this kind of message altogether (you can also report it if you feel like it), but do not let it discourage you from doing the amazing and original work that you are doing. You are awesome and the fandom loves you!

A little PSA for people who use AO3…

Gen refers to fic that is not focused on romance. If your fic is not a romance fic, please give it this tag.

Other refers to fic that is focused on romance, but is not specifically male/female, male/male, or female/female (like an OT3 (ship involving 3 people), a ship involving characters that are not male or female, etc). IT IS NOT FOR PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. IT IS FOR ROMANTIC ONES. please for the love of all that is holy do not tag your family-relationship-centered fics as “other” you are going to give people a HEART ATTACK.

“Character/Character” is for romantic pairs. “Character & Character” is for platonic relationships like friendship, family, etc. Please do not tag family-centered or adult-and-minor-centered platonic character relationships as character/character for the love of all that is holy

The E rating is for smut and literally nothing else (unless you have other unusual reasons to rate it E–I’ve seen people apply it to non-smut fics as a deterrent to keep minors away from it, but keep in mind it’ll make it so people who are trying to avoid smut will not find your fic). Your fic that has a lot of graphic violence but no sexual content does not need an E rating.

The M rating is for fics that would basically be rated R if they were movies, and may contain graphic violence, some sexual content, and generally more serious subject matter than you would typically show a teenager. However, if your fic is almost entirely smut, please just give it an E rating.

Also, when you post a fic, you WILL want to give it a rating, or else AO3 will assume you’re probably posting smut and will warn everybody who clicks on your fic that it may contain adult content. If you don’t want that on your fic that contains no adult content at all, please just give it the proper rating instead of not rating it at all.

Please back my cartoon on Kickstarter. We’re halfway through the campaign and have less than 3% of our goal. I’ve been trying to run this campaign professionally and am just not good at it. So in my own voice, here is why you should support my project:

My name is Max Dweck. I call myself the World’s Greatest Writer. I may even believe it a little. If you know any of my stuff, it’s these vids I wrote for Marvel, “Marvel TL;DR”. If you’ve ever enjoyed it, we’ve already proven that I CAN entertain you.

My idea’s called “Big Cat Bandits”. It’s about a group of globe-traveling thieves who resist an evil dog empire by stealing from them. A lot of folks have compared it to Sly Cooper, which IS an inspiration. It is also very solidly its own thing.

My partner’s Noah Sterling, the voice and producer of Marvel TL;DR. I’ve been running this campaign, and I am not good at marketing. But WE are VERY good at making entertainment. Here’s our original pilot animatic from 2018 for proof. I think it holds up.

Don’t wanna watch all those videos? I don’t blame you. So here’s the TL;DW: We’re making a fun, imaginative, action-packed show with a dynamic and lovable cast of animal characters who are drawn and voiced by some extremely talented people. Here’s our main character, Prince.

Prince is the son of history’s greatest criminal, the King of Thieves. He’s trying to continue his father’s work of stealing from the evil empire for the people they’ve conquered to keep hope alive and inspire rebellion. He’s cool, except when he’s a teenage dork. The other bandits are:

Reggie: Buff lion. Full of himself. Confidence is 67% deserved.

Mel: Snow leopard disguise artist. Goes undercover as the guy in charge.

Emmy: Clouded leopard kid genius. Young with a lot to prove. 

Roman: Russian tiger who blows himself up a lot. Wild card.

They steal from lots of bad hombres, but mostly the two top dogs of the Rover Empire: 

Emperor Sparky IV: Stupid bratty little chihuahua with skewed priorities. Hey, he’s a royal, whaddya expect? 

Eberhardt Van Hund: Genius German Shepherd inventor and tactician. The real danger.

These guys can go on lots of rad adventures, but only with funding. We need $100K to show you a heist involving ballet dancing and deadly traps. 

If reality breaks and we get $250K, we can show you a longer story involving lasers, aeroplanes, and in lieu of racecars, a giraffe.

This is something I’ve been trying to make for years, and I need your money for that. But I’m not asking you to do this for ME. You don’t know me, you don’t owe me that. I’m asking you to do this for you. ‘Cuz if you like how ANY of this looks, you’re gonna love the full thing.

If you fund this, we’ll have a full pilot. And then we can maybe even sell that pilot and make this thing into a whole TV show. Which would mean a lot more of these cats on their outrageous adventures. And we got a lot of different ideas for all the crime they get up to.

And even if it’s just the pilot, if you give us your money and we make it, there’s crowdfunding rewards for you. Stuff like pins…

Please, so we can make this very cool and fun thing you will like, give us some money, and then go and tell other people to give us some money. Pick your ten most disposable friends and annoy the hell out of them until they each fork over five dollars to our Kickstarter.

I am just a storyteller who could not do this marketing thing right, and now I’ve written the Twitter thread Tumblr post that may either save or sink this project. Look into my eyes, and then the eyes of the character from this cartoon on this blanket I got for Chanukah 2020, and PONY UP.

It terrifies me that there’s so much raging passion in the lgbt+ community that insist on marginalizing asexuals and implying that asexuals don’t deserve to have safe spaces. There’s still so much acephobia so I just wanna know which blogs are genuinely supportive and a safe space for asexuals

there have been many cases already international clients dropping their commissions from filipino artists or avoiding commissioning filipino creators altogether, either due to a fear of consequences getting associated with us because of current events or the misguided notion that not supporting us somehow hurts the oppressive government we’re under. lemme address both those issues:

for the first reason, nothing will happen to you, a foreigner, for supporting filipinos. theres nothing to be afraid of, youre not in this country and wont suffer any consequences. many of us, however? we’re afraid. especially artists and creators who rely on commissions to support themselves and their families

for the second reason, you are not hurting our oppressors at all. you are hurting filipinos, majority of which did not want this to happen and are actively speaking out against the looming dictatorship. dropping filipino creators does nothing but hurt us. our inflation rates are predicted to rise, and money is fast becoming an even bigger issue for so so many

so if youre looking for art, dont give up on us. commission filipino artists and/or boost commission posts! 1 USD is literally enough to buy a meal here, it really helps. here is a link to a thread of filipino artists posting their commission rates. and here is another thread of filipino commission rates. tips and donations outside of comms to these artists help even more.

Oh my gosh. I just found this website that walks you though creating a believable society. It breaks each facet down into individual questions and makes it so simple! It seems really helpful for worldbuilding!

ATTENTION TWISTED WONDERLAND FANS

There have been a few blogs going around harassing creators and fans of twisted wonderland. I hate drama but I feel like this is very important

These blogs, aladdinfuckersblog and charam-kun, have been sending very disgusting images of g0re p0rn to many different creators including minors. The images usually contain rape or images of decapitated heads.

They also have been sending asks under anon threatening rape or extremely racist viewpoints

This also includes sending images of the KKK to minority creators as well. The also have been fetishizing Arab people as 'jokes' as well. These are the same person. Please block, report, and most importantly ignore these blogs.

Usually they will try to ask innocently I your asks at first before harassing you, of any of then come into your askbox, do not respond and block them.

Do not give them the satisfaction of upsetting you.
