Sappho, If Not, Winter: Fragments of Sappho (tr. by Anne Carson)
This was only the first season? I'm fucked.
The fact that Billie Piper's casting in Doctor Who was initially so negatively received by the fanbase, only for her to become literally the most recognisable companion of all time, has to be one of my favourite success stories.
I think it would be really funny if the doctor went full dark side and the master immediately is like "wait....oh my God this is weird go back" and then starts scheming on how to make the doctor care about humanity again. he thought it would be sexy but the doctor is really good at evil and the master is shaking like 'please have empathy remember empathy you love empathy'
i love them so much. it's going to kill me
It’s my mental illness and I get to pick the coping mechanism 😩💫
sketches of the 10th doctor as a little weasel
and 14 too <3
the doctor is mean. he is rude. this is a consistent character trait. he is also kind and compassionate, but being mean unprovoked is entirely in character for him!
The Master comes back and infiltrates the Tardis under the guise of a new companion. The Doctor knows it's them and knows they are plotting something, but doesn't say anything because going on adventures with them is the most time they have spent with their friend in a long time.
As Gregor Tento awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect.
Doctor Who text posts: Thirteen edition – pt. 3
The Doctor: Ever since I lost my dear friend the Master, I’m the last of the Time Lords 😔
The Master: Quit telling everyone I’m dead!
The Doctor: Sometimes I can still hear his voice…
God I love Rose in Turn Left. She's talking interdimensional science to UNIT, saving the world in a leather jacket. She's really following in Nine's footsteps
the master gets migraines
Here’s the full version of Dr. Goodfriend’s explanation of why Rose Tyler is the most important companion to the Doctor and why he’s in love with her. You’ll have to open the images to read the full text.
This is part of a book called Doctor Who Psychology and this particular chapter is by Dr. Wind Goodfriend who is a social psychologist and university lecturer who has written multiple textbooks of her own, including one on intimate relationships. Needless to say, if anyone knows who the most impactful companion the Doctor ever had was, it would be her. There’s also other aspects of the Doctor’s attraction to Rose explained in this chapter, but I felt this was the most important.
Doctor Who “Aliens of London” 1x04
They're adorable
[Image ID: two panels from a doctor who comic. The first one shows the tenth doctor in the background while the thirteenth speaks in the foreground, saying “Three reasons. First: I’ve stopped you before.” In the second panel she says “Second, so has he.” while the tenth doctor waves happily with both hands and says “Hallo!” ./ End ID]

bonus because rose is adorable:
she deserves to punch him in the face a few times i think
they are so butch4femme coded. this is girls kissing. this is wlw this is my tragic yuri
Nine is my favorite Doctor because he's kind, he's sweet, but is also very traumatized, grieving and angry, and this is the best combination of traits a character can have, to me.
