do you even remember
I rly like how u draw Jimmy with squinting/narrowed eyes most of the time, idk if it's intentional but it really makes me feel like he's always analyzing everything and planning evil things lolol love ur work!! Keep it up!
Yes he's scrutinizing everything
thank youu :))
i have a headcanon because of this wonderful 100+ thousand words fanfic series on ao3 that stein is just obsessed with spirit and spirit is literally the only reason stein's still has some sane sense. the guy just desperately clings to him like a little boy to the only adult who didn't reject him, spirit is literally a breath of fresh air for him after a bad battle or a candle that burns forever in the dark. i can't fully explain how stein feels about this redhead idiot, it's just that felling in the chest when he sees him and suddenly everything as it's supposed to be for a few seconds, no horrors, no abstruse thoughts, just spirit, his red hair and his awfully stupid face
(tap on it for better quality)
recently i was thinking about how much attention is focused on stein's craziness and how less is on the fact that he's trying his best to fight it.
it's interesting for me to think about how he actually has morals. and even though it would be eazier to join the bad guys he is still trying to be a somewhat good person
inspired by @puppys-teeth post about prequel to soul eater, i've came up with some ideas
(warning: i am not a native speaker and too lazy to put this text into google translator so there will be mistakes)
the fact that stein tried to work with excalibur is just. so real. i can literally see it in canon as a flashback or something. when stein tried to work with that guy as some kind of experiment or just to became more powerful. and spirit being as sensitive as always would be really pissed with it and feeling forgotten and "what!? are you throwing me up like some broken pencil!? oh no you don't!!" and the rest of episode it's just him trying to make stein get annoyed with excalibur. and just when he gets along with the fact that "oh well. now i need a new meister." excalibur just casually says some shit and stein kicks him out. and he comes back to spirit like wsup what were you doing all day(he knows exactly what spirit was doing all day). and spirit being as forgiveable as always are like "oh y'know. normal stuff" and they're just going to the dinner together like nothing had happened.
also, spirit covering stein? gosh i love it. as if he thinks that if he's the older one it means he has to protect stein even if he's annoyed with that guy sometimes. sometimes really annoyed. and y'know what? if he hadn't justify stein one time, he deserved it. or couple times. but most of the times he was a good friend, i swear!
i imagine stein just asking him "why?" one time, and spirit's just changing the subject because he don't want to admit that he actually cares about this crazy little guy
and imagine spirit giving stein the last piece of cake as a cool older brother figure(he thinks) and after not receiving any "thank you" or "oh you shouldn't have" he gets angry and since then he never let stein have the last piece of anything
i still have so much thoughts about this little dudes you have no idea
i like to think that spirit has a somewhat texan accent
first chapter of Quantum leap is out for already... a month or so. check it out if you want!
Summary:
Jimmy would have never thought that heaven looked so much like the ceiling of his quarter.
Or
People can change, but sometimes the circumstances that would cause them enough pain to want to change may never happen.
also there's some arts for the chapter by amazing Fal(inst tg)!
okay but hear me out. why does soul eater manga art style looks like something a fifteen year old girl would draw in 2011
i like to imagine a scene where spirit looks at stein calmly, a little questioning even, like asking "what'd you see?". he stands against a blue sky with some rare clouds. and stein looks up at him as if he was looking at sun
