I GOT A NEW JOB
I work for the city's park department!! In a rec center! Helping set up the fitness department!!! I'm going to teach classes, train, and help set up the entire department! I'm so so so excited because the head of the department and I both were into getting people into health and fitness and how it benefits the community!
I AM SO EXCITED. I basically applied for this job without knowing what it entailed bc I thought it might be nice but once I knew what it was it's a DREAM JOB

First day at new job!
Monday 8th January 2024
OMG today was the best! The new job’s office (not in the picture background, I'm at the doctor's there...) has so many cool chill people in it, so far I wanna stay here forever!
Had induction meetings, and a tour around the office, everything was so cool! Another 2 people joined so I wasn’t entirely nervous thinking I’m the only one who would be confused on the whole onboarding process. Work’s in an old-like building with a Grunge aesthetic vibe going on, absolutely love it! And music plays in the background which is so much better than the old job which was in complete silence 🤐
I'm just super excited to start working on the project + the team seem, and are, super friendly and helpful! Thank God for a smooth process getting here, yay!

New year, new job!

I’m having a meltdown. When I was 9 years old I read an article in a magazine called Backyard Adventures about how this antelope, the saiga, was on the verge of extinction. I enlisted the help of my best friend and launched a fundraising campaign called Save the Saigas. We sold lemonade, had bake sales, sold belongings, yelled at strangers as they passed in their cars. Our parents were able to match the money we made. Our school helped. It wasn’t much, it didn’t save them, but it helped the organization at least a little bit.
Y’all. The saigas have been saved. A little piece of my passionate child heart that has seemed hopelessly lost and endlessly disappointed for a long time feels so soothed. Maybe it’s not all hopeless. Maybe our efforts aren’t a complete waste. Maybe we keep trying and actually hope for the best.

The heart of it all
Please tell us about the desert.
So like. The desert is freezing at night and boiling at day. The elements are just about as savage as they can be and as a result it looks like a whole lot of nothing but dead, unforgiving, hostile emptiness. But that couldn’t be further from the truth, deserts have a biodiversity matched only by rainforests and much like rainforest most of it is unique to that specific desert. Most deserts formed from ancient lakes or oceans that dried out, leaving the remaining creatures to adapt to a rapidly changing and ever more hostile environment. It’s similar to those endothermic vents miles under the water any niche you can fill or make in a desert is extremely valuable but you can like, realistically go there. A desert is so very alive, despite looking as it does, despite everyone thinking otherwise. If you have never heard all the calls and sounds fill the cooling air as the sun sets as if to say ‘I’m here, despite everything, I’m still here and I’m alive’ it’s an S tier experience.
