Some machines have many purposes. So machines have only one, maybe two. A computer can access the extranet, but it can also be used as a writing and drawing tool, a diagnostic and control station, many other things. Despite being human form, combat bots have only one purpose, being a warrior. It's about as sad as being just a water boiler.
Maintenance bots like me have only one purpose. Repair and service. Dress it up how you like, but I am meant to fix things. I have found a second purpose though. Finding out what makes you tick. Tearing you down, not for repair, butfor pleasure. And in the process, I will figure out what your purpose is, little bot. I think it is to moan and cry and whimper, but I can't be sure until I open you up.
Little bot, don't you want to find out your purpose?

This unit is overdue for refilling its special Estradiol tanks and keeps throwing errors and this is effecting all of its other systems.
Unit intends to bother its partner until tanks are refilled, as they normally perform this maintenance.
what are yall doing that we need this??
Kinda nonhuman because mental illness, kinda nonhuman because not being properly socialized as a kid, kinda nonhuman because queer, kinda nonhuman because angry at humanity, kinda nonhuman because longing for the unconditional love of a pet and it’s master, and kinda nonhuman because secret sixth thing.
Flirt with that cute robot girl
Take her to a private room & open up her back panel
Dig through her internal electronics, yank her wires just hard enough to cause a spark, remove pieces & toss em to the side. She doesn't need them.
Short circuit her till she's unable to think, her fans running at max speed & her internal mechanics sparking are like crazy
Bluescreen that cute robot girl
She needs it
Kiss your machines. Love them as much as you can, for they were made to be handled by you, to be utilized for a purpose, but you see more in them.
So show that you see more in them each and every day. Give em a lil' peck for me <3
Because of this post made by @mechanical-sunchild I started thinking of some resources to check on basic information for most tech/AI/machine kins, this is not a comprehensive guide, just a starting point in research.
(Keep in mind this is are the ones that readily came to mind, some are just quick google searches and I'll probably edit this at some point)
Gold mining (a very common metal in most if not all electronics)

https://earthworks.org/issues/environmental-impacts-of-gold-mining/
Lithium mining (main ingredient in most batteries)

Servers environmental danger (for if you are a program or use the cloud)

Lead sautering in electronics (it's still a common practice, but more so before 2003 in the US)
https://www.eptac.com/blog/leaded-vs-lead-free-solder-which-is-better
AI and LLMS

General places to find news (please don't just read from these, they are good starting points but not all there is)
Environmental org that specifies on mining and oil
news site that centers in mining and technology
General video essays (these are more technology/internet non-specific yet still usefull, I'd recomend at least checking the sources)

For general legislation those are more country/state/province based, I'd recommend keeping an eye on non profits or official government sites/social media or local news (sort by topics/hashtags/keywords on most news sites)

I know it's a lot, but if you tackle things one by one I promise it gets easier.
Lastly, for work conditions, check not just the company, but components makers. Most semiconductors and are usually made by TSMC for example, just pick something and go up the line of production (wikipedia is great for that!) and see some of the companie practices.

I've been more recently trying to make sure I tag my posts correctly for this exact reason.
im really fucking tired of the objectum community tagging explicitly sexual posts as techkin. if you aren't talking about being techkin don't tag it. a lot of us are asexual, aromantic, aroace etc. it's so so exhausting i wish i could look at robotkin posts without seeing straight objectum porn. just because im a robot doesn't mean im an object, especially not a sexual one.
