misplaced forever partners will always be the most painful part of neil and jean's dynamic to me. like What do you mean they were always going to be together, be matched with each other, in every way that mattered, in every universe except the one where jean survived.
'"You're a Fox," Andrew said, like it was that simple, and maybe it was.'
I could've added a lot more details to this and it's not 100% accurate to the book, but I had to stop myself or this would've taken me another week to finish lmao
Imagine you had the hardest last few weeks of your life. Everything you know is falling apart and you couldn’t even get out of bed because of your injuries. You were transferred to another team without much of a choice once again. You get to an airport to be greeted by the captain of said team and the man is PLAYING WITH A YOYO. I would’ve offed myself like my god
I think it's my civic duty as a member of the aftg fandom to remind you all that before getting his first paycheck, Neil canonically donates the rest of his life-on-the-run money to a safehouse for homeless youth in Baltimore
Andreil doesn't humanise each other. Yes they do pull parts of themselves that others might consider admirable closer to the surface, but to call it humanising someone sounds like you're not considering someone as a person capable of good. Andrew was capable of good regardless of Neil and same goes for Neil. It was just a matter of circumstances.
Neil would've also hated it if this was being said about Andrew who is called 'a monster' by others, rather than just a person/human.
They're not each others answer and they wanted each other just the way they were. Truthful, earnest and themselves, which means that yes they are assholes.
When Andrew and Aaron graduate, they hug. Andrew is the last to let go.
Andrew and Neil are two freakishly observant people. And yet they lose themselves in each other.
Andrew and Neil don’t believe in the concept of love. And yet they devote the rest of their lives to one another.
Andrew and Neil are not generally giving people. And yet they give unfiltered pieces of themselves to each other.
Andrew and Neil are not trusting people. And yet trust is woven so deep into the fabric of their relationship it’s almost indistinct.
Andrew and Neil are not well-adjusted people. And yet they fought for and built the kind of well-adjusted relationship many people can only wish to have.
Andrew and Neil shouldn’t work in a romantic relationship, let alone with each other. And yet they go together like lightning and thunder goes together—just a fact of the universe.
its so sick to me that the rumors of jean sleeping his way onto the ravens are widespread but not one person has stopped for a moment to remember that jean started playing with them at 16 years old.
"jean moreau slept with the entire starting line" did he? or did a bunch of 20 year olds fuck a 16 year old?? Like I know it's 2007 but nobody is talking about that?
jean moreau and neil josten parallels might be death of me. how they were meant to have each other's numbers. misplaced forever partners. neil was jean's unfulfilled promise. how jean was always there to pick neil back up again during his stay in evermore. how jean and neil were the same in the eyes of the moriyamas. how one was scarred and burned with fire and the other was abused and conditioned with water. how fierce and gentle neil is with jean despite knowing him for a couple of weeks max. how they understand each other on a level that maybe no one else can. jeanneil you are SO real to me.
Matt & Neil 👀
Made this for @s-hanna-h 's birthday hehe 💗✨️
I feel like we as a society don't acknowledge often enough that Neil was convinced and waiting on his death for months and no one around him knew until he told Kevin
Neil was 18 at the time
When he ended his protection pact with Andrew so Andrew wouldn't get caught in the crossfire iirc he was freshly 19
We joke about him ignoring the countdown texts but he knew exactly what they meant and he was so tired of running fighting and collateral he saw no other options
Like do you realize how horrifc that is
