Comfort characters are just characters you want to comfort
Example: Will Byers
The fact that Mike canonically doesn’t feel loved and wants to be needed by someone is so sad but Jesus Christ I relate to him so much in the area. He needs a hug.
Taking a day off school just to watch Season 4 is a flex. I have a Choir concert tonight and I don’t wanna go but if I am exhausted by the time I need to go to bed, then I’ll be okay. Just know that I might not be here tomorrow at all, if I finish Volume 1 within a day then you’ll see me around. Just know I’m literally shaking because it’s one day left and I am just… AHHHH
I kinda want this to be the outcome instead. I wanna see S2 Mike back man
I'm not worried about the video. I don't sense tension as much as apprehension. Mike is nervous and not sure what Will is saying yet, and Will is making himself small - his posture implies shame or fear, but not in a big way. I think this is probably not a coming out scene, but something like a "I've been sensing the mind flayer" or "why didn't you tell us you were having Vecna headaches" scene. Reminds me of the start of the crazy together scene. More worry than tension
The new photos with added brightness make it look more like Mike is concerned. Now it reads like he knows something is wrong with Will, and he's going into "Will is in trouble" mode.
Regardless of what Will is saying, it looks like we're getting season 2 Mike back.
literally any johnny intro dialogue
S4 is Stranger Things’ FNAF: Security Breach story wise. It feels rushed and underwritten, at least Security Breach can fix some things with the new DLC, but a show can’t sadly. So much hype for it, the trailers and interviews made us expect something more, and then nothing. Seriously S4 is the Security Breach of Stranger Things
Something I notice is that when Mike&Ikes say that “Mike couldn’t say I love you because of his parents!” Not only is it obviously not really true but their whole point can be broken in one word. Purpose.
So when Stancy had that whole ‘I love you’ argument in Season 2, the purpose of this scene is to show that the reason that Nancy couldn’t say she loves Steve was because she didn’t love him. If the purpose was to show that Nancy has a problem expressing her feelings because of their parents, then the argument would have went in a completely different direction.
The purpose of the Stancy fight and Milkvan fight was to show why Nancy and Mike couldn’t say I love you was because they don’t love these people. If they really wanted to go down the “it’s because of their parents that they can’t express feelings.” Then they would have addressed it.
Now you could say that they do address their parents relationship but again, the purpose to show it is not that. It’s to show that Karen and Ted do not love each other. It doesn’t show their lack of affection towards each other, it shows that they are a loveless relationship. The purpose of the arguments and comparing their parents relationship is that they are loveless. If they wanted to go in the “they don’t show much affection” thing then they would have made Karen and Ted actually in love with each other, they just have issues showing that.
The Mike&Ikes are so close but they barely pass the finish line
