There are so many "why" yet so many reasons that could explain Teh's behaviour, but not enough to justify the pain that he inflected on Oh-Aew in the end of ep 3. That look was haunting.

Shout-out for the actors for playing so well by the way. Amazing chemistry as well!

hi kpop stans, stop being stupid and anyhow cancel kpop artists because u don’t know the context & start cancelling artists who need to get cancelled (aka bp i am still salty)

anyways about hyunjin: in asian culture, what hyunjin did was okay because poofy hair = auntie’s hair (not related but older female) and big lips = gossiping lips (a lot of aunties love to gossip). so, next time when you guys start staning asian group, you guys should read up about our culture y’all 0 braincell fools.

I’ll keep this short, sweet and to the point. Sorry not sorry. I am prepared to respectfully fight.

Western K-pop stans need to stop demanding responses from their idol groups in regards to things that happen in America.

In this instance I’ll be mainly talking the issue in regard to BLM.

While I applaud groups and companies who have shown their support for BLM I don’t find it nessicary, and it really pisses me off when other fans think otherwise. S.Korea’s political, justice , education system and etc, are fare different then America’s. Both countries have their own set of problems that they are dealing with and don’t really have time to always keep itself updated with the other country’s happenings.

BLM isn’t a priority in S.Korea for many factors.

The percentage of blacks within the country is significantly lower.

The system is different.

Not many Koreans can relate or maybe even understand.

They have their own political problems to fix, why would they focus on ours?

This isn’t their fight.

S.Korea is a less outspoken country then America (Not saying its a bad thing, they just deal with things differently, respect that)

And so on and so forth.

I’ve actually come across Koreans who have voiced that they believe Americans are too expecting and pushy when it comes to certain matters we perceive as important. We don’t have the right to get upset when a group doesn’t do a political stunt we think we should do, American artists don’t do it for them, why should they do it for us? I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing when they do, I’m just saying that we need to stop expecting them as if it’s their job. It’s not. It can be understandable for big groups like BTS to put out statements, but any other group doesn’t really make sense. A lot of artists want to stay neutral, I’ve gotten the sense, from some of my Korean friends, that unlike the United States Korean artists aren’t as open about their political stance like a lot of Western artists are, I think that’s partly why BTS got some backlash back in the day.

Please understand that this issue with BLM isn’t S.Korea’s fight, it’s not an issue we need to drag their artists into, they have they’re own battles. On top of that Korean news outlets hardly ever cover American oriented news unless it’s something about K-pop in the Western market or Trump.

K-pop artists wearing braids and cornrows is NOT culture appropriation.

Note: I’m black.

If I had a dollar for the amount of times people have told me that I should be offended when K-pop artists “Steal” my harritage I’d be a billionaire. And, if I had a dollar for everyone THEY then get offended when I say I couldn’t care less...I’d be richer than Amazon.

Truth of the matter is that, I could give two fucks, for two reasons.

1. Just because someone is wearing a Certain style, hair, cloths, shoes, etc. doesn’t mean that they are disrespecting it.

2. Why would I get offended that they wear “my hairstyle” when I wear theirs? (I straighten my hair, dye it black, etc)

This

(I Don’t Reply On My Posts, Only On Messaging)

Is not appropriating African American culture. They are simply wearing a style. They aren’t saying hateful things about black culture or people while wearing the style and they aren’t making fun of the style. Again, they are simply wearing it. I don’t find anything wrong with that.

Now, if they were wearing these types of hairstyles and embodying stereo typical African-American manners, THEN I wouldn’t be okay with it. Call out appropriation when it clearly shows, but understand that when it isn’t a big deal. I actually feel honored when other cultures wear braids andor African-American oriented hairstyles. It’s a form of flattery and we need to start understanding that.

On my second note, African-Americans don’t have straight hair. This

(I Don’t Reply On My Posts, Only On Messaging)

Does not come naturally to African-Americans. Our hair comes in different stages of curls. I have yet to meet an African-American who has naturally straight hair, if you have good for you however that is not the majority of African Americans. This kind of hair requires a wig or a weave. If other culture wearing “our styles” is disrespectful then what do you call this?

“It’s not about them wearing the style is about them not knowing the culture behind it and what it means to African-Americans” You may argue, to which I argue back: before you go and buy/use a shirt, pants, shoes, hair etc, of a certain style, do you look up where it originated from? EVERYTHING we have acquired here in the United States we have acquired from other countries and their cultures. So technically, we have been appropriating since the beginning.

Again, I don’t have a problem with K-pop, or any other cultures for that matter, wearing African-American oriented hairstyles. Do you agree?

Manner of Death novel translation

Manner of Death was confirmed as an upcoming BL series yesterday by the author. Sammon_Scene (author of Triage) confirmed via twitter that the novel will be made into a series - it is a crime BL novel, which is a nice change from the usual Uni trope. Cha_arty on twitter has gotten permission from Sammon_Scene to translate the novel into English as well!

Pinned information tweet from Cha_arty: https://twitter.com/cha_arty/status/1245662756214210560?s=21

Cha_arty’s translation website: https://sites.google.com/view/artchatranslations/

I’m personally super stoked that we are getting a BL that strays away from the Uni trope and that it is a crime novel! I’m a complete true crime junkie, so this is right up my alley because it mixes my two favourite things!

I wish I could have a talk with Hongjoong about music.

First a cover of The Incredible David Bowie and now The Amazing Prince? I'll be expecting a cover of Breathtaking George Michael now I guess, or a song from Queen that is not Bohemian Rapsody (Break free maybe?).

And, jeez, that man's musical range got me hooked and lovin', like...

Yeah, I really want to talk about music with him, must be SO interesting.

If you don't like the effect then don't watch it.

I read a lot of hatred on the show from people who definitely did not look for information on the story beforhand, and it shows.

The effect has never pretended to be a cute love story because it is not. From the very first episode, you can clearly see and feel that while Keng is definitely interested in Shin, the latter doesn't feel anything but respect toward his P'. Maybe the music is sometimes misleading, that's actually how I felt in the few situations where Shin and Keng were close to each other, but the main objects from this lakorn / novel are the somewhat "domino effects" harrassment can have. Rape can be one.

I found the second episode even better than the first. James prapatthorn is an amazing actor, and not once can we be deceived: No, Shin does clearly NOT love Keng, never has and would have maybe if Man did not start spreading photos and rumors about him and Keng, but we would never know. Now from the begining of the ep to the end we got Keng's point of you. That dude, god knows how much he deserves to be happy. And here again, the actor portrayed him perfectly. In a matter of fact, you can sense the tension bulding, the pressure accumulating. When Shin gets into the classroom and leaves him on his own, the camera zooms in on his clenching fist and that's when you know that he reached the point of no return. You get that Keng, even if he is surrounded by many, does not really have true friends. Plus his parents are terrible. I believe that he truely loves Shin with all his heart, and yet, what he does to Shin, blinded by anger and extreme sadness due to unrequited love, is the most terrible thing that could ever happen. The last scene is near unbearable, and that's how it's supposed to be. Rape is a nightmare that haunts you for life. (Must admit that I cried, AND YET I like this scene a lot because that's how it's supposed to be: horrible and NOT romanticised!!)

I'm eager to see the third episode. It's going to be a real challenge for both actors. And if you can't watch the show because it triggers you, then do not. Indeed, if they follow the storyline (which it looks like it), it will get darker. (No more rape, but PTSD, suicidal thoughts... stuff like that).

Before watching a show the scenario of which stems from a novel, try to look for some basic information on it. Some are lovely and cute stories and others are just very dark. Be careful.

(Also shout out to the support roles, Yacht Surat is yet again the friend everyone wants to have, Pramote is a sweetheart and I felt you, Man, you a b**** but I can relate [unrequited love, jealousy] and that talk on how Keng should accept the fact that he loves men regardless of what his parents think is 👍)

Thousands of protestors singing “Do You Hear The People Sing” in a Hong Kong international airport. This is part of a 3-day sit-in and is only one example of the many marches, rallies, and sit-ins that are occurring daily.

The people of Hong Kong are fighting. Please do not let their voices go unheard around the world.

Honestly,

I've been thinking about it a lot since the beginning of the release of Theory of Love, but there are scenes (at least in the first two episodes) in which I feel like I'm not looking at Khai and Third, but Off and Gun. Like the most domestic ones.

Or just when they look at each other.

Has anyone felt this too?

Like... During that amazing scene of "sharing bodies" (Those who saw it know what I'm refering to), when they looked at each other, I actually got goosebump and thought "wow, am I looking at Khai and Third or Off and Gun? They look... so much in love with each other..."

I'm very confused.
