If you’re worldbuilding and making up a religion, remember that making yourself small and kneeling down in front of something to pray quietly is very much a Christian thing.
Personally I like the Ancient Greeks’ method of prayer which was to go up a mountain, stand up with your arms outstretched real big, and scream compliments at Apollo until he listened to you
