Jericho Brown’s “Tradition” is an absolute work of art. If you’re at all into poetry, you should definitely give it a read.

Can We Lay In Each Other's Presence Just To Manifest With Each Other And Empower Each Other?

Can we lay in each other's presence just to manifest with each other and empower each other?

Can we offer hands on and moral support to each and celebrate the small wins?

Can we soak up each other's pure love and watch it pour back into each other as the room steams?

Can you stand for me on days where I may find strength?

Can I speak for you on days where you may not find words?

Can we do all of the he things we need to do for each other to grow and prosper and create a legacy beyond our initial small minded vision?

Damn right!!! But will we? Is the unity there? Are you willing to share yourself to gain yourself? #ItzBaeDay

Excerpt: [ “These mirrors know our secrets. They witnessed our wild, our highs spent riding the wind and they watched as all the storms started circling our dunes … Strangers once,  turned to strangers again. And if these mirrors could speak.. Their voices just might crack, and shake, and shatter the glass into fragments … Take a piece of my Love, we been through enough stuff, now we need to grow up, and Away.” — Mereba, video for Sandstorm (2019) ]

February Reading Wrap-Up 📚

February Reading Wrap-Up 📚

I had a few more books that I wanted to get to this month, but I never expected for these to hit me the way they did. I had to take some time to sit with my feelings after I finished each one, but I’m still grateful for the experiences I had through each story.

These (with the exception of Pet because I already own it) will definitely be added to my shelf in the future.

Final ratings Riot Baby | Tochi Onyebuchi | 5🌟 The Stars and the Blackness Between Them | Junauda Petrus | 5🌟 Pet | Akwaeke Emezi | 5🌟 The Book of Negroes | Lawrence Hill | 5🌟

“Don’t ever think I fell for you, or fell over you. I didn’t fall in love, I rose in it.”
