Metal Exterior Inspiration for a large modern brown three-story metal flat roof remodel
December 31, 2024 Acrylic on canvas
Finally finished this painting!! Hey, got it done before 2025 at the very least ๐
Only took about 30 minutes to finish it up because it was just cleanup and painting the edges.
Moniker for this painting went from "coloured puke" to "seven" because when asking my family what the meaning behind this painting was we realized that there are seven characters here, which could be indicative of the seven deadly sins. Ofc that was unintentional, but was a cool coincidence.
Non-unanimously, the sins were identified as:
Pride - Green / ???
Wrath - Orange
Lust - Red
Gluttony - Yellow
Envy - Green / Pink
Greed - ???
Sloth - Purple
The blue guy didn't really fit any of them ๐ญ
I asked my family what they thought the meaning of this one because they'd incessantly bugged me about what the meaning behind another painting I was working on was.
Still need to varnish it, but I'll get to that later
December 25 - 26, 2024 Acrylic on Canvas
This painting has an actual name, but I'm sticking with the moniker " 'W' Painting" (as dubbed by my family/friends because there's a W sticker on the top left corner) until I actually finish it.
Painting I frantically did because I was having a Terrible Time and when that happens you paint little guys having a Terrible Time.
Wanted to finish this before I moved over the spring/summer for coop but just didn't have the time for it, so it won't get done until 2025 fall the earliest.
I look at this and realise there's Anatomy Problems / a fundamental difference in the flow/positioning of the characters between the initial sketch and where I'm at now. There's no turning back now, and I'm still happy with what I have, still. Just have to figure out that damned arm when I go to finish this. But it's also a fun loose painting, anatomy doesn't have to be flawless (call me a part of the 'it's my style' club ๐). Pro tip when drawing characters interacting --uhh refine the sketch before rendering ๐ค ๐๐๐๐๐๐

Acrylic paint + gloss varnish on wood
Got around to fixing this mask this summer.
Glued the broken pieces back together with wood glue. Pretty sure I wasted 180% more glue than I actually used, but it's been a while since ive done any woodworking
Should've taken the pics before varnishing :p
You know, I'm the kind of person with like 80+ ongoing projects at any given time, and I rarely ever post things on here about them because I'm always waiting until they're finished and trying to get things perfect first and then I wind up never posting them. But I have to remind myself there's no law against showing off WIPs, and in fact, that's actually like a normal thing to do on tumblr. So, I thought I'd show off my progress so far on my Danger Days phone case insert I've been working on!
[Image ID: a tall narrow painting roughly the shape of a smartphone. The background is a rainbow watercolor fading radially from one color into another, starting with red in the top left, orange in the top right, yellow down the right side, green in the bottom right, blue in the bottom left, then purple shading from blue violet to red violet heading back up the left side. The watercolor has been textured with a salt resist technique creating small floral shapes of lighter paint. On top of this background, โLook Alive Sunshineโ is written in tall wavy block letters in an assortment of colors meant to contrast the background, such that theย โLโ is light green, theย โAโ is yellow, and theย โSโ is orange and so on. Some letters are fainter, written in sharpie that has faded into the paper, but others are brighter, having been gone over in acrylic paint. There is a ring of poked holes in the top left roughly where the phoneโs camera sits and a bit of uncovered background space to the top and bottom of the text design, which covers the majority of the piece. End ID] (*If thereโs anything youโd like clarified about this description feel free to ask, I found it tricky to describe clearly. )
I tried to copy the comics font here--wait, actually, I'm just going back through my reference images, and I think the text I copied from for this is actually from something by @tapefish that was itself based on the comics font. Yeah, this is based on a design that's on their redbubble actually, though I didn't trace it specifically, but that's what this is drawn from. In that design, both words in "look alive" are on the line above "sunshine", so because of the way I've done it here, "sunshine" wound up being twice as narrow, hence why letters are all really squished, but hopefully it'll still be more or less legible!
I went over the letters in sharpie initially, but they were really hard to see, so I'm gradually painting over them. I'm also probably going to put more pictures and/or text on here, like a Danger Days spider and/or an eye like the one on the mailbox, and possibly "keep running" and/or "art is the weapon" in the space at the top or bottom.
As for the color scheme, I just went "how can I make this as colorful as physically possible" and ran with that, lol :) Well, to be more precise, I did a rainbow ombre in the background and then tried to make each letter roughly the complementary color to the part of the background it was on, but I tried to still have a variety of colors in the foreground as well.
Mostly, I'm just happy I've finally gotten around to making some progress since I first did the watercolor for the background literally like 2 years ago in our first pandemic summer, and that's just the rate at which I work on things sometimes, lol.
Anyways, I could ramble about my design and my plans for this for a while yet, and I could definitely proofread and edit this post some more, but I'm trying to stop myself from spending all afternoon on this post now instead of actually continuing to work on my phone case insert. Feel free to ask me stuff about this, though I can't guarantee anything remotely resembling a quick response haha. But hopefully someday before another two years have passed, I'll be posting a finished version of this! For now, enjoy this rare glimpse into my artistic process, hahaha.

The last two paintings for this Christmas that I am in charge of. A Snoopy for my best friend. And an R2-Deer-2 for my older brother. Itโs late, Iโm exhausted, but I hope they enjoy their shirts and paintings.
Paintings for shirts for my best friendโs mom, dad, and grandpa.
Simple, but I sorta like them, and I learned a lot about painting while doing them.
My mother had the idea of painting Christmas scenes, scanning the image, and transferring them onto shirts for Christmas this year. This will be my shirt. Iโm starting to learn to leave my paintings alone when I get them to a passable state, as continuing often leads to me liking it less.
Had a short painting session with my sister yesterday while watching her. Finished a piece I had started months ago.
Family painting night part 2!
Although, it was just me and my youngest brother tonight. I really enjoyed doing this one. Very pretty result and I got some practice blending and mixing colors. The stars are the next thing I should work on.
Painting night with my family. Itโs something I really needed this week.

I hate acrylic >:(
I know i haven't posted anything a while... but i had a reason: school testings. So here is two thomas jefferson sketches I painted today and yesterday.
Painted a garden of the most wholesome old lady on earth, who every morning continuously brought me old tattered pillows to sit on the early wet grass, while cursing my responsibility and then desperately tried to buy this work form me. Unfortunately it is going to the exhibition but as soon as it is free from its bounds I am gonna send it to her๐
Sitting in bushes and painting is my new favourite thing now.
