Sometimes I’m okay and then I remember that at the end of trk Noah is literally just gone. Like no one remembers him. Everyone always talks abt the Pynch wedding but I lowkey feel like they wouldn’t have one. In fact, I feel like they would just sign the papers and not tell anyone until one day Gansey, Blue, and Henry come to visit the barns and one of them notices the ring and is like “wait wtf you’re engaged?” and Ronan just gives them a weird look and replies “we’re married” and then all hell breaks loose.

Obviously it’s a general rule in fiction that a character cannot be who you first believe they are, but trc just takes it to a whole other level. By the end of The Raven King, every single character is so drastically different from how they were in The Raven Boys, partially because of their own development, but also because of how the perspectives are divvied out between books so neatly that you get basically an entire character study in each one alongside the overall plot. Everytime I reread it I’m so off-put by the first book because of how differently they used to act and think, even if it the timeline is only a few months. Maggie Stiefvater please never die
My favorite plot twist in trc was Ronan being an absolute fucking loser. Like wdym the stoic spontaneous bad boy listens to EDM and wants to be a farmer??? And people are SCARED of him??? Please.
Adam was constantly saying “I’m employed what does this mean” whenever Gansey and Ronan did some crazy shit while he was at work

I know people have said this a million times but Adam in college telling people about his "farmer boyfriend from Virginia" and them thinking of some stereotypical hillbilly and then meeting Ronan Lynch is so fucking funny to me
