Imposter syndrome and ADHD

so, I am currently waiting to finally get tested for ADHD (a therapist that I talked to suggested that it may be inattentive type ADHD), but I just keep having imposter syndrome about it, because sometimes I notice “typical ADHD behavior” while I’m doing it, so I keep thinking, that maybe I’m subconsciously behaving like that on purpose or something. Is that a normal thing to happen with people that have ADHD or does this say something about me? I know that I’m not tested for anything yet, so maybe I just don’t have ADHD, but it would really explain a lot of things and also help me feel better about not being so good at certain things. So, is it normal to have imposter syndrome about something like that?

So do you ever zone out so hard you question everything but know you need to be paying attention so you’re like “hey bro, now is not the time to be questioning the sanctity of humanity” or like “dude, can we not focus on how we wouldn’t be here if not for some random walking fish?”

You don't know how much I want to say no to this but the reality is that I made this page because I was fucking hyperfixed on good omens for much of this year and on david tennat only so that when I finally started a blog my hyperfixation would calm down, it's ridiculous!

I don't know if i'm just seeing this through ND lenses, but i feel like the majority of fanpage owners, artists, writers or otherwise creative people in fandoms have ADHD or other neurodivergencies... like every second person with a fanpage that i know has ADHD and made their page out of a hyperfixation.

Just like i made a fanpage for my fav show.

Also i'm in a FanFic groupchat and i don't know if we have even one neurotypical person in there.

Obviously there are also NT people with fanpages, but i think for Neurodivergent people it's just an outlet for their creativity... and also, it's free real dopamine i guess?

Thoughts?

Beat it into your head until it sticks, like repeatedly. If it's a passage from a textbook read it once, read it again but define unfamiliar words, read it again, and find key terms. Usually, a textbook has them in bold or highlighted if not ask your teacher, p.s. write down any questions you have as they come to you and then give them to the teacher I find this helps.

Once again you reread the passage as you summarize. Then you reread the passage as you look at your notes to make sure you didn't miss anything, and read it again as you write down a "cheat sheet." At the end, you have read the passage 6 times if you need to reread your notes as many times as needed.

This is a marathon, not a race you can take as long as you need to.

How does one with ADHD get information to just fucking stick in their brain goddamnit I have a squiggly brain just like everyone else get in there you fuck AND STAY THERE
