is this a weird time to say i love how you draw skulls- like- hfutrsdtfhgkjndgf teach me
Ahhhh thank you anon! It’s never bad time here-
As usual, I like to start with a background
Then I use a circular ruler with the shade of chosen skeleton’s skull color to make an outline of their cranium cause I know I can’t draw a good circle without it. I do this on another layer.
After that, I finish the outline of the skull with the same shade. I also added in two more for different perspectives because angles are important. Oh yeah! Different shaped skulls as well, cause sometimes we want sharp whereas other times we want somft.
Once that’s done, I like to fill them in and shave off anything funky looking
Details! :D (also another layer)
Then I’m done!
Not really a drawing request- but how did you do the linless art? Its cool but I have no idea as to how people do it
Good question! We’ll use Dream for this one-
I like to start with a color that contrasts with from the muse
Then I start on a basic drawing of the character’s head (I like to draw this on another layer so that I can easily edit it if needed)
Then I finish the rest of the character
I use a shade of gray to accentuate the skull’s curves and blur it. I like to do this part on another layer as well! (I repeat this step a few times till I like how it turns out)
On that same layer, I like to add the character’s facial features
Then I add any last details on another layer! I drew the darker tentacles on the same layer as the facial expressions. To help show that some of the other tentacles were further back, I made them darker than the ones on the facial layer. (I also went back and added a weird looking tree cause mmmm angst) And then I was done!
To add texture to Cross and Killer’s fur hoods, I took the color of the fur and made it a few shades darker before drawing a few strokes onto the first layer and repeating a few times.
EDIT!: oh yeah! I also never use pure black because I like being able to shade onto the dark dark gray
(Dream and Noot belong to @jokublog)
tell me your ways on how to draw good--
AHHH YOU’RE SUCH A BEAN! I’m still really bad at drawing humans, and suck at anything related to colors, so I’m not the best person to ask for advice, but I’m flattered! SORRY FOR ANSWERING SO LATE-
Anyways, as overused as it is, it’s true: practice is the best way to get better at drawing. I think I’ve been drawing for about 11-12 years? Oh! Drawing the character or thing you want to draw a lot helps a bunch! The first few times drawing something can feel awkward, but once you draw them enough, you get used to them and it becomes fairly easy!
Another thing that helps is studying anatomy! You don’t have to take any serious classes or anything- I literally just stare at people around me, wHICH ISN’T THE BEST OPTION SINCE I LOOK LIKE A CREEP 90% OF THE TIME (the other ten, I look spaced out :’) I haven’t taken any art classes and don’t plan on it, but they probably help too!
And the most important part: taking breaks! Getting burned out sucks and it’s always nice to just lay in bed or eat a snack. Hydrating is also important! I like to have a large bottle of water next to me before I start so I don’t have to travel too far to get more. Listening to music makes it easier for me, but I know some people work better in silence. In the end, it’s really just getting used to what feels normal for you :)
Sorry if this was too much! tHIS ALSO TURNED FROM ART TIPS TO ME MOTHERING YOU IM SO SORRY DUDE-
