kestrel should have known they'd find aurora at the petting zoo. while they spent their days among the little creatures, even kestrel enjoyed spending extra time socializing with the baby herbivores. it was a great way to relieve stress when they didn't have to deal with the crowd of sticky, whiny children who loved this particular attraction at the park. "i have heard that before actually," kestrel admitted, "my mum always told me that when i was little, that she'd take the bell off the cat and give it to me instead."
𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 & 𝘵𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴, wrapping around the ankle as it dangles into the pit. It was never unusual to catch the girl within the enclosure, fear non existent as the tiny herbivore gnawed at her shoelaces. “ i know baby, i know. ” cooed lovingly as if to a child, legs swung back over the rails, opposite side of the miniature brachiosaurus before her hand juts back through to caress her snout. “ i’ll be back at dawn, i promise. ” and she would be, but as she turned away a yelp escaped her. “ shit, didn’t see you there ? get a bell ! ”

obviously their family had a bit of thing for bird names. it was how their parents first bonded, their mother becoming a wildlife preservationist and their father working as an exotic animal veterinarian
kes takes after them both a lot, which is what led them to the job they have now. eventually, they'd like to go back to school to further their education past a bachelor's, but for now, they're satisfied with what they're doing.
takes forever to be comfortable around someone, but once they're friends with a person, kes is loyal forever.
really enjoys board games and tabletop rpg games, but never got into video games
