Random anecdote:

I remember that once my mum asked me what is my type, or, what would I like in a romantic partner. My aunt was there, her sister, that is a year older than me, and she showed interest in the answer I would say.

I showed them both a gif of Lockwood, said that he was my latest fictional crush, and this is how It went;

My mum: really? He's too skinny.

My aunt: yes. If you got to lay in his chest, the boy would broke. Like a spaghetti. Look at his face.

Me: I look at him and I like him and I will not apologize.

My mum: he British?

Me: yes.

My mum: then you can like him all you want. You'l never met him after all.

My aunt: 😧

Me: 🙂

My mum: 😁

In a nutshell, they dont approve my taste.

My Family Has A Signed Picture From Tim And Eric On Our Counter, And When I Was Little I Thought They

My family has a signed picture from Tim and Eric on our counter, and when I was little I thought they were our extended family members. I felt bad for wondering why they were so weird looking. I always resented them because i wondered why they never came to visit us but felt thankful they wanted to have a part of them with us (the signature) and i wondered about them my whole childhood and why no one ever talked about them. Dad had put it away 4 years ago (i was 10). I completely forgot about them until recently, but dad put it back out and i am realizing it’s fucking Tim and Eric from the Tim and Eric awesome show great job

I think we’re going to be together forever.

“Don’t say that”, said the older woman in the car. Hand on the steering wheel, her eyes remained fixed on the narrow one-lane road ahead of her. “I know you love him now, but what if someone better comes along?”

The younger woman stuttered in protest, “What if? Someone better? What?”

There was no one better. They belonged together. She was healing, and he was gentle. He laughed with her and the sense of humor she had developed, loved the jokes that made her the “funny one” because she was soft and small and wouldn’t be heard when she wasn’t being funny. He appreciated every thought she had and loved her for being alive.

A fire burned hot in the young woman’s heart as she looked back at her mother. Her lips were barely parting as she finished her sentence “
probably not going to get married.”
