His father is away, and so is his mother, even if she rarely leaves the palace.
It rains a lot when he's young, and no one tells him why.
---
She needs to be objective. Impartial. Unwavering. She needs to be.
And so she tries. She tries hard and when she looks into his eyes, she locks her heart away. She knows that, if she leaves it on plain sight, she will stop and think of how brilliant his eyes seem underneath the fire torch light; she’s staring at two pieces of burning coal.
His voice, low and gruff, reaches her ears. "Athena..."
She almost winces. You are just too much, she thinks, ashamed.
---
His hand is bleeding. As he lazily wraps a piece of cloth over his golden stained knuckles, facing the wall that just met his wrath, he's trying to deny it all.
Their father gave her a thunderbolt.
Their father, who has always been on and on about how lethal a weapon his thunderbolt was, passed such a weapon on to his daughter.
Not his son. Never him. He doesn't deserve it.
As if his thoughts could be read, he hears a sharp crack of lightning in the distance. He looks out his window.
That's her. He chuckles. When Zeus throws his thunderbolts, it's a long, low rumble that shakes the earth. He wants everyone to feel his anger, that prick.
What he just heard however, was different.
In many ways, he thinks, she's like a crack of lightning. She is the thunderclap he hears in the distance when he's caught in a rainfall.
i might start worshiping Greek deities
Currently I feel most connected to Ares Athena and Artemis
It cool
Due to popular request, here are some dividers inspired by Greek gods:
Zeus
Poseidon
Hades
Hermes
Apollo
Dionysus
Hephaestus
Ares
Hypnos
Of course they would! I can even say, that they would be proud about it)))
Since Ares is the second hottest male god in terms of raw looks on Olympus (and first place if you account for overall charisma) and Aphrodite is...Aphrodite. ...Would Phobos and Deimos also be hot?
That little brat, like mother like son🤣🤣🤣
Inspired by a recent chat with @tanyakitty151
Little Ares: Wanna play?
Athena (reading a book): No.
Little Ares (peeking over her shoulder): What are you doing?
Athena (moving the book): Reading.
Little Ares: Wanna fight?
Athena: NO. I'm reading.
Little Ares (with a frowny face): You’re boring.
Athena (also frowning): I'm not boring. You're just a child.
Little Ares: Well, you're just old!
Athena (gasps, then pounces him)
Little Ares (deviously, to himself): Works every time.
My interpretations of Ares and Aphrodite recovering after the war.
Yeah, about that... :)
I just couldn't not draw them)))
For my previous post.
I had an idea that Ares and Aphrodite's rings could have been made from the goddess's old belt. She herself insisted on melting it down into rings as a token of their love.
And now Ares asked her to melt down his ring, since she was "no longer the one he once loved."
🧐Ooh, very warrior of the mind of him. I like it! Ares would definitely know that his Aphrodite knew the significance of those rings.
Can we talk about how PERFECTLY Jorge cast his characters? And what a good job they did? Like yes they absolutely embody the characters they're voicing, and they made the characters theirs as much as they are Jorge's.
This post is inspired by me listening to God Games again and being absolutely amazed at the gods in particular.
ESPECIALLY Aphrodite's lines like please Janani K Jha did NOT have to be that good but she knocked it out of the park. I can't even tell you how often the line "you're a little high and mighty" gets stuck in my head.
im praying to you, oh Swift and Mighty Árész, that you keep those who protest in the upcoming days safe, and that you can lend them your strenght to fight against the oppression 。.:*:・'°☆
Ares: At first, my half-siblings annoyed me. I hated them. But slowly but surely, I started to crave their company. Started to listen to them. Even go as so far as to do things for them. I wondered why, but now, the reason is clear. There’s even a name for it.
Hermes: Friendsh—
Ares: Stockholm syndrome.

It ABSOLUTELY KILLS ME that Athena has NO ANSWER to Ares and Aphrodite's arguments, and just opts to tell Aphrodite to suck it up and bribe Ares
Like-
Aphrodite: "He left his elderly mother to die alone to fight a war."
Ares: "He has shown cowardice on numerous instances, categorically refusing to face problems with honor and all but sacrificing his comrads."
Athena, mentally: 'Shit. Fuck. They're objectively correct. Uhhhhh'
Athena: "Aphrodite stop being a bitch and Ares oooooooo look at the Murder you like the murder oooooo"

And this just- works??? Honestly so proud of her for pulling this off.
