Did a bit more portrait practice. Decided after the viktor incident I would just lean into the arcane stuff.
Heres my reference photo! I think i got surprisingly close to the real thing. Wasn't expecting that.
Also, he needs chapstick so bad. Those lips are incredibly crusty
I was practicing drawing portraits and I was drawing some badass expression and I screwed ot up and she looked sickly, so I leaned into it, and i think I just accidentally drew viktor lol

I need to practice drawing expressions and head from different angles. So I decided to combine my biggest hyperfixation (that being Jacob) and 35 expression exercise. There probably will be 6 expressions in each post until i finish all of them.So yeahβ¦wish me luck.

I started doing character practice pages so I can figure out how I like drawing them, Wilt was first ! Sorry it's kind of a blurry image though
There wasn't really a plan for this drawing that I had in mind. I was just messing around with this one. I felt like having a painter-y vibe for this. It gave me a lot more freedom than what I usually have. It was just a lot fun to do! I tried to figure out how the shadows would work, but I'm not too sure if they look right. For the light source for Siffrin, let's just say that the moon was really bright on this night and not that I put it there for no specific reason. I know that the game's art is black and white monochrome, but I wanted to use a purple monochrome instead. I had a lot of fun figuring out what hues to use.
Anyhow, here's the version without the air brush and here's the sketch concept:
Look! You can even see some birds and sailboats!
I liked drawing the birds. They were fun.
Okay, bye!
Edit: Today, I wrote my first ISAT fanfic on AO3! The writing in it flows a lot better than the writing in my posts, I promise. Check it out here: A Flowery Confession.
(Warning: This post contains content that has major spoilers for the secret ending of the game In Stars and Time)
This was a complicated drawing for me to make. I could only use three layers for this, so the line art had to be all in one layer. The bottom layer was the background color and Loop's color. The middle layer was Siffrin's color at 50% opacity. Honestly, the hardest part was doing Siffrin's color because Siffrin's line art is so muddled within Loop's line art. Of course, it didn't help that I decided to give them laced-up boots, but, in my defense, laced-up boots are just cool!
I also duplicated this drawing twice and changed it to just show Loop and Siffrin separately.
I really like how they turned out! Throughout the drawing process, I honestly couldn't tell if they looked good. It was in the ugly stage until I finished it. These two versions of the drawing have given me great relief because I can see that I did a good job drawing Loop and Siffrin.
You might notice that the background of the Siffrin version is a bit different. Since I was limited to three layers, I had to take out Loop's color layer.
....Which also included the background color, so I had to redo it on Siffrin's color layer. I should also mention that I actually redid the character line art on a different layer. I used two different colors for the original line art, and just erasing that thoroughly would've been a nightmare. Besides, I had to change Siffrin's line art to black anyway. I then erased the original character line art so that the background line art remained. Considering how shaky the tree's line art was, I didn't want to redo it.
Anyhow, that's all I've really got to say about this drawing. Despite this drawing containing spoilers for the secret ending, I still haven't gotten it nor seen what happens. I just know the basic gist. So, please refrain from sharing with me specific spoilers about it.
And on a somewhat unrelated note, this week I actually brought home the Siffrin bobblehead I made. I might post a picture of it here. But eh, it doesn't really look good. The clay looks wonky in places, though that is to be expected for my first time using it. The hair is the worst part because my art teacher left my bobblehead to dry before I fully finished it. But whatever, it's fine. It's kinda cute.
Anyhow, before I find a way to make this post longer, bye!
Transcript: You can do this forever...
My favorite part of my art process is the color. Color can bring a piece to life, make it feel full. But...
It's hard to do that with a character that's just black and white! Since I've been mostly drawing Siffrin, my usual coloring process has become boring. Though, on the plus side, this makes me want to experiment more. I've been messing around with the tools in my art app (Infinite Painter) during my art process recently. That's how I got this piece. I used one of the charcoal tools for the shadows. I think it's called Glazed Vine. I don't remember what tool I used for the values on the cloak. It might have been the same tool, but I think it was different.
With using absolute black for Siffrin's design and the background, I had to outline the blacks with thin white line art. Though, with the lines being so thin, they were somewhat translucent. Whenever I had to use multiple strokes for a connected line, you could see everytime I lifted up my stylus. I tried to fix this by inking the lines multiple times. That fixed the problem, but that made the lines way too bright. So I looked at one of the lines that didn't need multiple attempts of line art, and I used my color picker on the line to get a light gray. Then I used the light grey to redo the bright white line art, and viola. Problem solved!
I had difficulty figuring out the pose and anatomy for this artwork. I probably should have searched up a reference, but meh. I think it turned out pretty good, anyways. I think I struggled with making the feet look like they're touching the ground, though. I suppose there could be more anatomy mistakes, but hey! Siffrin's cloak does a fantastic job at hiding any mistakes I could've made. Speaking of the cloak, I really like how it turned out! I think I did a good job with the cloak folds.
And that's basically all I have to say about this piece. Though, I want to mention that, for some reason, it's easier for me to draw anatomy and poses on paper than on my phone. I don't really know why that is. Maybe it's because I have more surface to draw on with my sketchbook?
Anyhow, I'll go ahead and add the initial sketch and a screenshot of my artwork in the middle of the coloring process.
I was originally planning on this piece being about Siffrin sacrificing himself for their friends, but I ended up changing that. I also had to change the hands. You can see that the hand holding Siffrin's dagger is wrong.
I added the mid-color screenshot because I just think it looks cool. It kinda reminds me of something that Julia from Drawfee would paint.
I originally drew this in my sketchbook. I wanted to practice drawing anatomy. I think it turned out rather good. (I'm surprised at how well the hands and legs turned out!) The clothes are my version of the clothes Siffrin wears underneath his cloak, by the way. I didn't want to draw the cloak because it would cover most of the anatomy.
Other than the anatomy, I really like how the hair turned out! I've been drawing it to be fluffier. And longer. I didn't feel like drawing the black parts of their hair. Maybe this version of Siffrin has decided to grow out their hair to be darkless.
This drawing is difficult to see fully on mobile, so I'll put it next to the sketch below to make it smaller. That's the only way I know how to change its size. If you click on it, you can see it fully.
Hopefully that works.
I'VE FINISHED THE GAME! FINISHED IT THIS PREVIOUS FRIDAY! IT WAS AMAZING! I WON'T GIVE ANY SPOILERS, THOUGH. BUT NOW, I'M REPLAYING THE GAME BECAUSE BECAUSE BECAUSE - THERE'S A SECRET ENDING! When I finished the game, I immediately began watching animatics/animations that I had saved up. But then I saw a spoiler warning about the secret ending. Since I really want to get this ending, I immediately began the game again not even a hour after I finished it. I'm already back in Act 3, but I forgot how long Act 3 is. Though, I'm realizing there's a lot of things I missed in my first playthrough, so I'm still having fun.
Anyhow, onto the drawing. As you can probably tell, I'm better at drawing characters from the shoulder up (honestly, I draw characters from their shoulders up way too much). In this drawing, I was able to do more experimentation with Siffrin's design. I was able to practice drawing faces/head structures. With my previous drawings, the head was too small for me to really do a lot with it. I better at drawing things at a bigger scale at the moment.
I think I'm finally getting a hang of drawing Siffrin's hair. I really love how it looks! It's so fluffy! I think the hair in my other drawings feels too stiff, but the hair in this one feels more free.
I decided I wanted to give Siffrin an eye bag. Considering how exhausted he is, I decided it fit. I mean, Frin has been told they look as though they haven't slept in weeks. So, yeah.
My art app has a colorless blender marker, so I used that for the eye bag. I decided I wanted to experiment a bit more with blending, so I did that for a few of the shadows.
With the angle I was drawing from, I figured we would be able to see the sides of Siffrin's pins. I tried to make them look three-dimensional. I might've made them have too much depth, though. They should probably be thinner. I considered adding a shine to them, but it didn't look right considering how much white is surrounding them.
With all that in mind, I think this is my favorite drawing of Siffrin that I've done. I feel as though this one does the best job at capturing Siffrin's personality. I'm getting closer to a design for them in my art style. It's more stylized and feels more natural. My other drawings of Siffrin feel a bit forced. All in all, I think that I'm getting better at drawing them!
Here's the finished product, but I also like the drawing without the effect over it.
So here's this version. I think I like this drawing (both versions) more than my previous Sif drawing. This one has a more unique pose and expression. (My idea was that Siffrin was jumping and about to attack.) I also put more work towards the background. It took me quite a while to draw the clocks. The numbers look a bit cramped, but I do not have the patience to fix that. I used stars as the clock handles to represent that time isn't truly passing. I think I put more work/creativity into this drawing, so I proud of myself for that. I want to add more abstract ideas/concepts in my drawings, so I think this is a good starting point.
Unlike my previous drawing, I drew Frin's cloak correctly. Did I draw the dagger correctly this time? Ha! Nooo. Of course not. Anyhow, I still haven't finished the game, so I'm trying to avoid spoilers. I might be on Tumbler less, in other words.
You can check out my previous Siffrin drawing here.
I've been playing a lot of In Stars and Time recently. I haven't finished the game, yet, but I have finished Act 3. As I've been drawing Siffrin, I've realized that their cloak is rather confusing. For the most part, it's depicted as not having sleeves, but, in some scenes, it definitely has sleeves! I've decided that the cloak has been crafted to have sleeves whenever the wearer needs to have sleeves. Anyhow, I tried to make a full-body drawing of them. I'll admit that the pose is kinda boring. I have to practice drawing more poses. Though, I think I did a pretty good job with the anatomy. Also, I couldn't really figure out the expression on his face, but whatever. Despite that, I had fun making this drawing, and I might post more drawings of this game as I get farther in it.
Edit: I have been informed that Siffrin's cloak canonically has no sleeves! So this drawing can be considered inaccurate. (Also, thank you for ignoring that I definitely drew Siffrin's dagger wrong.)
This drawing was mostly me just messing around with my art app. Specifically, I was messing around with the background. I liked how it turned out. I think that it actually looks like a cloudy day! I didn't feel like line art for the character would match up with the style of the background, so I just colored over my sketch. The character's design is based off of Coraline (the movie). Anyhow, I like how the drawing turned out.
Here's my first post (and first finished drawing) of the year. I spent a long time on the background, and I think I did a good job. This was a very experimental piece. First off, I'm using a new art app. I use to use a very outdated Flipaclip to make my drawings, but, when I got my new phone, I could only get the newest version of Flipaclip. Yeah, I absolutely hate it now. I've started using Infinite Painter instead, so my drawings are going to look a bit different now. I was trying to experiment with a pose and with the lighting of the piece. I've been trying to learn anatomy, so I've trying to draw more poses. I also want to get better at lighting in my drawings, so I've been adding light sources to my art. Overall, I really liked how this piece turned out.
Check out my previous drawing of Mabel!
This a drawing I did of Eda the Owl Lady. I almost scrapped this drawing, but it turned out a lot better than I thought it would. I think I ended up mimicking the art style of the show with how I drew her nose and pupils. I didn't really mean to do that, but it was just easy to incorporate in this drawing. I think that's because the show's artstyle is closer to mine than the artstyles of my other fandoms. Anyhow, I had loads of fun making this piece. (Also, the colors might be a tidge bit off - I didn't use a reference. I was also experimenting with shading and an imaginary light source, so that might be off, too.)

Yes lol I overlap everything in my sketchbook. all the pages look like this, some even more convoluted. Anyone else draw like this? I like to switch between pen, pencil, and colored pencil.
