My problem with The Avengers (game)

Okay, I'm ticked off, so I'm going straight for the throat on this one.

Gameplay seems fine from glimpses and the story is eh. BUT THE DESIGN IS AWFUL.

But I'm getting ahead of myself, lemme show y'all how you do this correctly.

Take Spider-Man PS4 as an example. Their Peter Parker is easy on the eyes, recognizable, and is pretty well designed. On top of that, the suit, while different, is faithful to the original and colorful, like Superheroes should be.

It's a fantastic design by Sony and helped the game on it's path to greatness.

My Problem With The Avengers (game)

Avengers on the other hand....

First off, Captain America looks like my uncle on Halloween. In addition, all the people who bitched about the outfit in the first Avengers movie are taking what they said back. Unnecessary Armor Galore!

My Problem With The Avengers (game)

It actually reminds me of the 90's era of comics where a bunch of characters got unneeded armor or redesigns just because. And even by the Liefeldian standards of the day this is too much.

Thor has it a bit better, but not by much. The armor needs a rework because currently it looks more like a clobbered together cosplay.

My Problem With The Avengers (game)

As for Black Widow, her costume is fine...But WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER FACE! She looks like a man in a wig. Like a High Def Farquad!

My Problem With The Avengers (game)

The only Avenger to come out well was the Hulk! Even then how do you fuck that up?

Tony looks alright as well but his armor is pretty damn generic. In the movies as well, each armor had a characteristic that helped give it a personality and made them distinguishable.

In addition, they all look so drab and colorless! It's boring

Now you all may say it's not like a game has bombed on visuals...

Uhm...Where were you during Marvel vs Capcom Infinite?

In fact, this feels like a repeat! A hyped as hell game with subpar visuals and design with a shortened roster with the promise of more to come.

Crystal Dynamics, you have a year to fix this. Don't fuck it up.

About Sonic

Oh boy...Here we go.

So as a large chunk of you all are aware, the trailer Sonic the Hedgehog dropped today and it has gotten an "interesting" reception.

What did I think about it?

....Oh boy here we go.

Since this is a Sonic movie, it would make sense to talk about Sonic himself. I like the personality and lines they gave him. Hell, I even like the voice. The spindash and fast movements are also pleasing to the eye. But uhhhh, there's a giant, GIANT problem. You guessed it, the design!

About Sonic

I'm probably sounding a broken ass record here, but I just really don't like the design. I don't mind the texture and all that, hell, I even don't mind eyes and hands too much. My biggest problems are the mouth and limb sizes. They are...uncomfortable to look at. Some minor adjustments would help, but I worry it could be too late.

Beyond that though, I liked the rest of the trailer...even if Gangster's Paradise is an odd song for Sonic.

Oh yeah, Eggman is in this.

I think they made a good if a bit of an unconventional choice here. I like the delivery and Jim Carrey does what he does best!

Overall...I dunno about this movie. We'll have to wait and see...

Halloween Movie Recommendation!

Beo The Moth, Once Again!

Halloween is coming up once again and, of course, everyone is picking out their movies to watch. From Childhood Favorites like The Nightmare Before Christmas and It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown to the horror classics like Psycho, Halloween, and Oculus.

But I'm here to recommend a fun little movie for you to watch for some spoops. The WNUF Halloween Special!!

Halloween Movie Recommendation!

It's a movie that plays out like a recording of a legitimate Halloween Special on VHS, commercials and all, and it is just...So much goofy fun.

Is it perfect? Hell no, but it's so much fun in my opinion, so check it out!

A Nightmare On Elm Street Review

A Nightmare On Elm Street Review

Well, might as well get this review done as soon as possible.

Hi, I'm Beo the Moth, and welcome to my Nightmare on Elm Street review!

This film is probably one of the most popular slasher films out there alongside Friday the 13th and Halloween. Wes Craven took the standard slasher formula and added some twists to it.

Before we get into this film, what is it all about? It is about a group of teens experiencing all the same nightmare with the same man. When one of them dies, they need to find a way to stop this dream murderer before they all go into the everlasting slumber of death.

A Nightmare On Elm Street Review

So, what did I think about it? I thought it was great!

First off, everyone gives a good performance! Everyone from Heather Langenkamp to Johnny Depp in his first ever film role! But by far the big standout is Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. This performance is so intense and creepy that you just can't help but appreciate it!

A Nightmare On Elm Street Review

The effects, they still hold up to this day!! I still hear people talk about how this movie scares them! It's That Good!! And definitely better than the sequels and...somehow even the Remake.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is simply a classic in the genre, and you owe it to yourself to watch it!

I give a 10/10!

Hm...Two positive reviews.

I need to balance it out a bit, at least before the Halloween Review.

Ah shit, I spoiled the surprise! Oh well...See you all later.

The Thing From Another World Review!!

Hello everyone! Time for my first review!

Last night I was fortunate to sit down and watch one of the so called greatest Sci-Fi movies of all time, The Thing From Another World!

However, I'm gonna give a bit of context of how I came to this film.

You guys probably don't know this, but I'm a huge fan of the legendary filmmaker John Carpenter. I loved most of his movies, especially Halloween (Which I might review it, the remake, and the upcoming film.) One of his better films is The Thing, which is a great movie and you should go see it. Hell, I even liked the 2011 Prequel to it. So, the original 1951 film has been on my Watchlist for a while. So, when I saw it was available On Demand, I had to watch it! So, I did! And what did I think?

I kinda liked it but it is not as good as the 80s remake.

So, firstly, what is this film about? Some Men from the Air Force arrive to a base at the North Pole when a unidentifiable ship is there. One thing leads to another and the creature is loose!! What will become of our men? Watch and find out! After this review of course.

As far as story goes, it's the standard fare for 50s Sci-Fi movies, And it isn't exactly that accurate to the original short story "Who Goes There?" Especially with The Thing...Not being able to impersonate others as well, but instead multiplying. The acting is also standard for the time. The Hayes Film Code was in effect as well, which leads to some...odd quotes. ("Holy Cats!") However, I will say that it doesn't affect the viewing experience!

Probably the biggest problem, for me, is the...shall I say...interesting Pseudoscience. Like claiming that Vegetables can have consciousness and the Infamous "Super Carrot" analogy. Outside of that, the film is pretty fine, which an amazing line in the last scene

"Watch the skies, everywhere! Keep looking. Keep watching the skies!"

The Thing From Another World is a perfectly okay 50s Sci-fi film. It's an entertaining watch that is very easy to enjoy. But if you could only see one Thing film, I'd go with John Carpenter's movie.

The Thing From Another World gets a 7.5/10

Now if you excuse me, this Moth's gotta go see another movie for the next review.

Y'all want a hint? Alright. I have this exact street in my home town, but I'm sure no one has died in their sleep here...yet.
