Happy New Year! 🎉 Here's a quick summary of my art in 2024. BG3 was pretty much a big influence on the second half of the year (including con prep!), but really have to thank the local OC card project for kickstarting my art flow again after an art block in March! Original template from here.
Finally managed to wrangle my catalog for mArtsuri SG! Will be boothing at Booth 48 (Dungeon Party Gamers) with @theresa-draws and joandeartz ~
And next on the series is Shadowheart! I love how detailed the Dark Justicar armor is, and although you can dye her armor in Selune colors I still wish there was an actual Selune armor you can get without killing Isobel/Dame Aylin.
Next up is Gale! Hoping to at least one more for the event.

Been deep in the BG3 playthrough for months, here's some art of my current Tav, 'Seth' Dawnharvest! He's a necromancer warlock (thanks modding) and pre-game he evaluates/acquires magic artefacts for a living. Also has a devil dog called Andras!
Trying to get more painterly with paintings so painted Raphael bg3 (did I trace the base and stuff? Yes but this was to paint better not to draw faces better)

- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!
- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)
- (idk how credible this is but i think this position also leaves the person sitting pretty vulnerable to attacks compared to a cross legged sit? in that sense it would be an even greater show of deference) edit: apparently this isn't exactly correct! I think this applies mostly for inexperienced people, but those who are trained a) their bodies adapt to the discomfort and b) they use techniques to get back up without using hands

I have....so much to say about these two, their beginnings, those millenias apart, Voss being the fabled destroyer of Prince Orpheus while beneath it all, being his voice, truth, and living breathing hope.
Then Orpheus' freedom, the hope of their people's freedom and a better future, and beneath all that, what it just means for them.
