Brother with Cerebral Palsy and Mental Health Challenges Living In A Shelter After Being Illegally Evicted and Assaulted By His Landlord
Hi everyone. I am making this post again in a last ditch effort to get the support my brother so desperately needs. On approximately Nov. 27th, 2024, my brother was illegally evicted (without proper notices) for the landlord to move in a family member. When my brother started asking questions, the landlord forcibly removed him from the premises.
As it stands right now, disability is refusing to pay first and lasts on a new apartment because it hasnt been a year since he received it to move into the residence in question. This eviction has taken a toll on my brothers mental health. He has schizophrenia and severe anxiety and functions at a 10th grade level. My mom nor I can take him in because we live in rent geared to income housing and theyre extremely strict about having no more tenants than those stipulated on the lease.'

On November 25, 2024, I took Cacoa to the vet for a Solensia injection. She's 18-years-old and has painful arthritis, hence the treatment. I thought her life would improve.
I was very wrong.
Her body tanked. Here are the results from the blood work and urine sample. The short version is she's severely anemic and no longer producing blood cells. As for why, the vet thinks it's due to how Solensia works and the possibility of Cacoa having cancer. She had blood work done on November 11th, and it was completely normal. This is no longer the case. The vet thinks her body was managing the cancer and the drug shut that part off and suddenly cancer flooded her body.
Her total bill, from the checkup on the November 11th all the way through today is $1418.33

All I wanted to do was relieve her of her pain. If I had any idea this would happen, we would've just continued living as we were.
Update: she died, here at home, on November 28th, the same day Jasper died two years ago. She's gone.
I have no idea how I'll manage my grief. 2022 was a horrific year. 2024 has been a shit year. Her health was in decline, with an anal gland rupturing into an abscess, then crystals in her urine, less energetic, less walking around all day, more sleep and sleeping on me. I just wanted to make her feel better, and now she's gone. I haven't been alone, truly alone, for 18 years. She was always with me when I was home, which is damn near 24/7 due to my disabilities. The house is too quiet.

This is the bill thus far. On December 2nd, we will go to a laboratory, with Cacoa's body, and have an autopsy done. She will be cremated when the autopsy is complete. When proof of the drug killing her is presented to the drug manufacturer, we may be reimbursed for everything spent since the drug was administered. Until then, we will have to pay the bill, which will only grow with the cost of the autopsy and cremation. We were told those may be another $1k on the current bill.

I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Mohamad S., who is facing one of the most challenging times of his life. Mohamad is 37 years old and left his homeland in 2015 in search of a safer and better future. He’s a kind, hardworking man, and his small family has always been his greatest priority.
Living abroad, Mohamad has recently endured unimaginable loss and financial strain. Amidst the ongoing conflict in his homeland, his mother passed away, leaving behind his sister and her five young children—the last remaining members of his immediate family.
As the situation worsened, Mohamad managed to help his sister and her children escape to safety in Egypt, covering their immediate needs and securing a temporary refuge for them. Since then, he has been fully responsible for providing everything they need to survive during this transition.
In his efforts to support his family and cope with this devastating loss, Mohamad has found himself deeply in debt. To make matters even more difficult, he recently underwent knee surgery, which limits his ability to return to work for the foreseeable future. This has made it even harder for him to manage his financial responsibilities and the pressing need to provide his family with a stable future.
Mohamad is now working to bring his sister and her five children to join him in Belgium, where he hopes they can find stability and opportunity after all they’ve endured. This transition, however, requires significant resources that he is currently unable to meet alone.
For privacy reasons, we are not sharing Mohamad’s full name, as he has chosen to keep his identity discreet. While he initially refused the idea of asking for help, I couldn’t stand by and watch him struggle alone. I insisted on doing this for him because he deserves a chance to overcome these challenges.
Your contribution will help Mohamad repay the debt incurred during this difficult time, cover ongoing living expenses for his family, and assist with the costs involved in bringing them safely to Belgium.

Hi there! I'm putting this post out because I'm a full-time student unable to gain employment here due to our university preventing me from getting a job (under risk of expulsion).
I live in South Asia (Pakistan) and the area I live in has been getting pretty worse with regards to queer people.
I'm pretty sure I'm at risk of getting outed at my university department because of certain questions targeted at me recently by a supervisor who thinks that people like us should be put to death.
Because my very existence in this country is subject to arrest and other things I'd rather not think about, I need to get out ASAP.
Unfortunately, my parents will only pay for my ticket to Canada (I have citizenship) under the condition that I get accepted into a university there, but they're not going to help me cover the application fees.
Plus, they keep all the documents I need to get out of the country with them. As someone with basically no disposable income, I'm gonna need some help.
I'm a PharmD candidate and I'm hoping to apply to UofT, UWaterloo, and two more places (probably Saskatchewan so I can stay with my cousin). If I get accepted, I'm getting out of here by May-June and hopefully will be in a safer place.
I'm trying to raise $700 CAD (Canadian dollars) because UWaterloo's application costs $215, $250 for UofT, and I'm hoping the rest will cover two more applications.

turkey and azerbaijan are attacking armenia right now, and it's 1915 all over again because the world is distracted and people are too busy wondering if they're gonna live or die, and who gives a shit about my country anyway? my mum told me to tell my friends and explain to them what's happening and that we are the victims in this war because azerbaijan is spreading lies and people are believing their lies and i told her, what good is that going to do? do you think anyone's going to come to our aid? is russia going to help us? is america? is england? erdogan said they will finish what their ancestors started, and he means genocide. he means ethnic cleansing. he means to massacre every last one of us. and in doing so admitted to the very same thing turkey has spent 105 years denying. i don't know who to tell and what good telling people will do because we're a small, insignificant country, and we have nothing to offer to the people in power, the handful who rule the world. so i sit here with my pain and i feel helpless. i know there's twitter threads and links to petitions and people being urged to contact their senators, and sorry if im being pessimistic, but azerbaijan has been attacking us for the last 22 years, and though we defend ourselves, we can't do anything to stop them. they've violated ceasefires (and geneva conventions) multiple times. i don't think they'll rest until every last one of us is dead.

The first few days of their second week together were surprisingly more interactive than the previous week. Carrillo had been spending less time in his office and more time in the living room putting up with whatever terrible show Ash had decided to watch that day. Arguably though, not that he would admit it out loud, he was rather enjoying the quiet company and shitty tv, an incredibly different routine than what he was used to but a welcome one at that.

i don’t usually post things like this, but i really need your help. my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer 2 years ago. she is on chemotherapy and has been fighting extremely hard to get a liver transplant, which would increase her lifespan and could potentially be a cure. without this transplant, the cancer will likely kill her within the next 3 years. she has secured a donor but insurance has repeatedly denied her requests for surgery under the excuse that it’s “experimental”. with both of my parents unemployed, there’s absolutely no way my family could afford this surgery.
