week 18 "arin and ranei, taking shelter from a storm. the endlessly stormy forests of lazure offer them little time to rest.. but theyve been lucky with finding food, and found an overpass which can protect them from the storm, for the time being. after starting a small fire, theyre able to dry off, for the first time in a long time. food will eventually run dry in this area, so they cant stay here forever.. but theyll enjoy the fire and food while they have it, enjoying a rare moment of respite with one another" -the historian, 723sd hi hi! week 18, already? time flies by so quickly. anyways, wanted to draw some cute catboys. Day 2? Something that makes me happy?
Happy?
Well I’ve mentioned this before but the happiest place for me on earth is the camp I go to each summer. And though that camp is closing this summer, it will always be my 2nd home.
The memories will bring me joy, the hikes, the kayaking, the swimming, the games and the nights in front of the fire, and amazing never ending love and family.
That’s the thing that makes me happy.
Why do humans hate fire?????? Like seriously, fire is goddam beautiful. Sometimes you see people dancing in it, when your friends are moking smores or toasting something you can see the flame dance in their eyes, the laughter from the others in your group is magically aswell! And it’s even better when the flames are dancing so high, it looks like the souls of the dammed are trying to escape from their eternal torment, and you can see the light disapear in the people’s eyes that are melting right in front of you.
Truly magical
Date nights are much more fun outdoors

With California wildfires still burning, the 2018 fire season continues to leave its mark on the state’s landscape. Together, the Camp Fire and Woolsey Fire (as seen above) have burned more than 248,000 acres (1003 square kilometers, or 387 square miles).
Burn scars are what wildfire leaves behind. With no vegetation to hold the land in place, many burned locations are susceptible to landslides and mudslides, especially in areas with steep slopes. Fighting fires on these slopes is more difficult, too — once a slope’s steepness exceeds 30 percent, firefighting with bulldozers or trucks becomes dangerous, and emergency response teams must fight the fires on foot.
For the past two weeks, our scientists have been working every day producing maps and damage assessments that can help agency fire managers understand the active wildfire and plan for recovery. By deploying research aircraft carrying instruments, like the Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAVSAR), scientists can identify burned areas at risk of mudslides in advance of winter rains expected in the area.

Cooking a hearty meal out in the wilderness ticks so many of my life's happy moments. 🥰🫶
How is it that something as destructive can make us feel so comfortable? I watch the tingling flames, as if trying to read between the lines of their stories. They seem to keep their secrets to themselves. I feel the weight liften from my mind as my ghosts vanish into the night, one wreath of smoke at a time.
