anyway i hate how they retconned the chardee sex scene but the implications of it being that charlie remains inhibited from viewing sex as an act of intimacy and will continue to perceive it as a breach of trust rather than an expression of love whilst dee remains unable to maintain a genuine connection with anyone who is willing to accept her because her lifelong desperation to be admired has manifested into destructive behaviours... that does make me feel a little something

charlie kelly one of those characters of all time where he's so complex but also deceptively simple so everyone can relate to him if they want to. you think he's asexual? he is!! you think he loves to fuck? he does!! or maybe his relationship to sex is too complex to put in a simple sentence? absolutely! you believe he's a trans man? of course! you think she's transfemme? just look at "the gang solves the bathroom problem"! you think they "dont do gender" or "doesn't identify"? that's quite literally canon!! boyfriend to some, girlfriend to others, they have the range!! you think of him as a sweet, silly little guy? he's in fact a lovable rascal. you prefer to think of him as an amoral disgusting violent man? he's in fact also that. whatever you think of charlie kelly, you're probably right and that's delightful to me
one thing that’s so important to me and is the fact that originally in The Nightman Cometh, Mac was supposed to be Dayman
like if we’re accepting that the Nightman is at the very least a representation of Charlie’s stresses and discomforts from his life, much less a pretty accurate 1to1 from a specific person, then the idea that Dayman, who fights off the Nightman, who is a master of karate and friendship, was supposed to be portrayed by Mac, who is Charlie’s oldest friend, genuinely makes my heart ache

mac's love for dogs, who are seen as companions and often deemed "a man's best friend", contrasting his parents' physical and emotional absences in his childhood vs. charlie's love for cats, who are typically solitary creatures, contrasting bonnie's overbearing parenting that suffocated him.

mac – either @/macmcdonald or something absolutely ridiculous like @/badass.ass.kicker. but his first username was @/jesusjackedme. he had to change it because dennis was like, "dude, this sounds like ur saying jesus jacked u off!" "no dude! thats disgusting! jesus jacked me UP, spiritually, physically and mentally!"
charlie – charlie doesn't use social media. he can't read or write much less TYPE and its just overall too confusing. however the gang tried to set something up for him and just asked him what username he wanted. he picked @/nightmancometh and never used his accounts a single time.
frank – @/richdaddy69. he bought this username. he also pays for verification!
