hachi leans against the singer, giving nothing but a warm smile. <3 happy hachi puppy.
Nana looked down at Hachi and settled an arm around her shoulders, pausing to drop the cigarette between her fingers into the ashtray on the kitchen table.
"You really are like a dog, you know that?"
nanaaaaaaaa! * wails *
"What's the matter, Hachiko?"
Nana's eyes softened as she patted Hachi's hair. Hearing her roommate out at the end of the day had become a sort of bedtime ritual, and though it had been annoying at first, it was secretly something she looked forward to.
"Did a boy make you cry again?"
The city lights were always mesmerizing at this time of night. As Nana walked along the river that wound through town, she thought of how life had taken her in this direction - big city, bright lights, the sound of traffic that never really stopped. The company of good friends she loved, a rivalry with someone she had been in love with, was still in love with... and the unearned adoration of her happy-go-lucky roommate.
“Hachi.”
She’d uttered Nana Komatsu’s nickname unwittingly to herself, a small smile beginning to play on her lips as she thought of what Hachi might be up to right now. Was Hachi at home making dinner? Going out to rent a movie for when she got back? Every day spent with Hachi was fun and new, and she had really grown on her since their first meeting. She supposed she could text her... if she had a phone. It didn’t matter, Nana knew that she would see her... soon... enough? Huh? Was that...?
As she walked closer, she couldn’t make out her features but there was no denying it: that was Hachi.
“Hachiko! What’re you doing here?”
