Today's Public Domain Character: MissingNo.

Yes the only Nintendo character that's public domain. Bugs aren't inherently characters and not made by humans therefor are not bound by copyright. The name Missingno is just a thing fans started calling it so that breaks no copyright law.

The only caveat is that its association with Pokemon and it's cry (which is that of Nidoran Male) needs to be filed off obviously.

But there's really nothing stopping you from using it*

*The UK and Hong Kong give some protection for computer generated imagery for 50 years after its creation, which in the case of MissingNo would be 2047 but that only applies to the above image not the concept of MissingNo itself. Outside of those places its fine tho.
