one of those days where my brain feels completely fried by hometime.
25/08/20
adulting is difficult, folks. but also kind of exciting sometimes?
24/08/20
gravitation notes!
21/08/20
maths problems this long feel like a workout for my brain. also this q was Not worth enough marks for the amount of working i had to do.
16/08/20
a cute lil plant themed weekly spread for my first full week back at school!
summer studying challenge: summer days or nights?
i’d have to say inbetween- i love dawn and dusk during summer because they’re so drawn out and beautiful.
13/08/20
first day back at school!! so so lovely to be back, i missed it so much. despite the confusing one-way system i loved being back and seeing my friends & teachers & wonderful school. plus my timetable has loads of free periods this year which i’m super happy about.
summer (even though it’s not my summer holiday anymore lol) studying challenge: what is your favourite ice cream flavour?
raspberry ripple!
07/08/20
coded a rock, paper, scissors game! (=> completed one of my summer goals!)
did some mini exercises and summary post-it’s of rotational motion
read a third of the good immigrant
& tonight i’m going cycling with my dad and will do another violin session!
summer studying challenge, 7th aug: what is your favourite summer ‘beach read’?
red, white & royal blue by casey mcquiston!
06/08/20
hello! i took a short break from social media bc of life stuff, but i’m back bc i start school in a week! today i:
completed lists & dictionaries in python
finished my maths review cards from pre summer content
cycled to my friend’s house to drop off a paper
& i’m going to do a violin practice session this evening
summer studying challenge 6th aug: what book are you currently reading?
i just finished this is how you lose the time war, which i 100% recommend! now onto inferior by angela saini.
24/07/20
probably when i was in menorca with my family in 2017 and we went to a cliff to watch the sun set over the sea. it was so beautiful!
me vs starting out a new skill with overly complex tasks and ending up not understanding and having to relearn the basics *facepalm*. every. damn. time! today i spent ages working on the python challenge then this evening wrote a fun little code to calm my brain :)
22/07/20
i would love to go to iceland one day, partly because it looks like such a beautiful country but also because i’d love to see the aurora borealis!
21/07/20
definitely the first time i went on a holiday to a warm country, to menorca in 2017 with my family.
today was spent colouring in a gbbo colouring book, watching arrested development, and coding! i’m learning python2 using codecademy and i’m trying some of the python challenges. (i completed level 1 today and was SO excited by it.)
nope! thanks to covid we were able to start our new school timetable a month earlier than usual so as we’re ahead of schedule there’s almost no summer work at all :D
probably applying for a stem program which i actually finished writing today so just need to do final adjustments for next week.
usually i go away with my family (sometimes abroad but mostly down to england or up north) and see my friends a lot. summers are my complete break from school time.
it’s been a few days since i posted due to family stuff and dealing with loss, so i took a break from social media for a bit. here’s my catchup for the summer studying challenge!
15/07/20
i have a few little goals, like applying for a stem programme, getting my russian up a bit, picking violin back up and continuing learning coding in python!
14/07/20
summer studying challenge 2: have your plans changed at all because of the pandemic?
YUP. i was meant to be at a space program at a university in june which got cancelled, me and my friends were going to go on a cycling holiday on a west coast island, and all in all i didn’t plan on feeling so down lmao!
last night i stayed up until 4am to watch for comet NEOWISE which i saw [first picture, faint smudge just above the tree in the centre] and was completely amazed by :D unfortunately i waited for three hours after seeing it to get a second look, but the clouds were very stubborn :( i am so tired today though lol
13/07/20
summer studying challenge 1 — what are your plans for this summer?
this summer i want to read at least 8 books on my tbr list because it is becoming mountainous. and i really want to improve my russian and coding skills! i’m not focusing on school stuff until august bc my mh needs a break from it for a while.
12/07/20
some russian work ft the flowers i’m about to press 💐🌼
29.06.20
today was the first day of my six week summer holiday and i’m already feeling very listless, so here is my plan for getting a big step up in russian. i’ve been loosely learning for a year so i know basic phrases and the alphabet but i want to use this time to really get to grips with it. so i’m posting this here because accountability is important! i’m hoping to fill up these sheets with vocab by the end too.
23.06.20
today i scrounged all the paint samples i could find in my house and made this for chem :)
22.06.20
i’m now in the last week of term, so compared to last week’s business of zoom calls it’s feeling very chilled out. here’s to the end of the school year! 🥳
18.06.20
today marks the end of the astrophysics/engineering program i have been involved in this week, and i am truly sorry to say goodbye to it. i may do a slightly rambling post about it later.
08.06.20
i made a whiteboard out of a poly pocket and it is, quite frankly, saving my ass with all the derivations i’m learning atm.
21.05.20
maths is even more enjoyable when you do it outside in the sun 🌺🌤 (flowers kept falling from the rhododendron beside me, it felt very picturesque)
20.05.20
advanced higher chemistry is putting my artistic abilities to the test.
27th march 2020
was being all productive rewriting my higher physics notes (seeing as i’ve no set work until after easter -_-), but then i got onto fission and started raging about how undercredited lise meitner is, so now i’m in a state of feminist rage about the severe lack of women in stem and particularly physics. happy friday!
