day one working from home. scottish schools officially shut on friday but following guidelines i was having to self isolate for a fortnight bc of family members anyway. stay safe!

here’s a little school update which to be frank is more for me to look back on lasted this year than for tumblr, but anyway

did my lab work and handed in my assignment reports for 20% of my grade in physics and chem! really happy with both of them.

got into the uni space programme for this summer that i applied for in january! really really happy making :D

things are getting lowkey stressful, with four weeks until the easter holiday and the threat of schools closing due to covid19. really hoping we don’t have to though.

did my coursing for next year and i am officially taking advanced higher maths, ah chem and ah physics. v excited to not do english next year but i will miss french.

i’ve been reading a lot this year and am currently on my 16th of 2020 (for reference in 2019 i read 18 total) which i’m really loving.

i got straight As in my prelims which i’m over the moon about, and got top of my year for physics chem and french (somehow) so i’ve got a sweep at the awards ceremony ;) i also have my fingers crossed for junior dux but i guess we’ll see in june.

in conclusion i’m a nerd and happy about it. s5 has been My Year so far.

long time no see! last week i found out i’ve been accepted into the summer astrophysics programme i applied to which has made me so, so happy :D here’s to hard work paying off!

making some physics notes on onenote:) however i am becoming increasingly aware of and annoyed by the fact that our entire physics course is about men, there is not a single woman mentioned in the entire thing.

we’ve been having a real mix of autumn mornings recently, some beautiful crisp sunny mornings where the sun shines through the golden leaves; and some where the leaves are mushed on the ground and the rain falls constantly for days on end.

friday 25 october

some week/month planners from paperchase and a doodle i did while taking a break from maths, which was really stressing me out as i find that drawing helps calm me down when i’m worked up about something. i’ve also been journalling a short paragraph about each day every night which i’m enjoying!

monday 21st october

today i’ve done some useful life stuff, including opening a new savings account, doing some research into uni courses, and planning for the next half-term of school. i also went for a walk (taking the scenic route) to the shop to get some stuff for my mum. i love this stage of autumn when everything’s orange and crisp🍁

sunday 13 october

hi! long time no see, tumblr. i took a break for the first month or so of school because there was so much to do, including my final silver dofe expedition, but now it’s the break and i’m spending the time off relaxing and catching up on everything.

those who have done gold duke of edinburgh- is it worth it? i’m really questioning whether to do it, as this is a big year for me and on top of 5 highers i’m doing grade 7 violin so i’m not convinced i could take it on and do well in everything. please let me know if you did it and think it’s actually worth it in the long run lol :)

started back at orchestra today, i missed it so much 🥳 love love love paperchase’s planning pads atm, so useful and i got them in a 3 for 2 sale, so it’s a win win.

english is much much harder as higher than national 5. insanely high workload compared to last year and i can’t say i’m loving it.

second day back and the workload has increased an insane amount. currently working my way through 17 pages of grammar exercises for french then onto chemistry hw!

first day of school! an exhausting and mentally trying day as i found out specific exam results and wasnt particularly happy with some, basically had to physically refrain myself from killing my old modern studies teacher when i found out i dropped 23% from the mock exam. but otherwise i’m enjoying learning new things again, especially maths at the moment because i quite like trigonometry.
