If acknowledge it's out of character, is it wrong for me to enjoy out of character content?

If I have to hear someone say "well the writers comfirmed" "well the writers denied" "well the creator said" "actually that can't be true because canon" ONE MORE TIME!

I DONT CARE! I DONT CARE WHAT THE WRITERS SAID! I DONT CARE IF THEY DIDNT INTENTIONALLY MAKE THIS CHARACTER LIKE THIS OR CANON SAID THIS OR WHATEVER

ITS ART! ART IS MEANT TO BE INTERPRETTED BY THE VEIWER SO I ACTUALLY DONT CARE WHAT THE ARTIST WAS GOING FOR

I hate when I'm reading a silly post about the Robin's and Batman and then I look in the comments and without fail, every time, there's somebody mansplaining why that "actually isn't accurate" and "according to canon" It isn't that serious. I know I'm making it serious now but fr 😭

I need to start actually reading comics so here's me asking what to start with and recs! I would like to read DC, Superman, Batman, and Robin, Young Justice, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern! I know there is a lot out there so I need help sorting through it!

I like to think that all of the batboys are, in some way, scholars in one particular field*. So I've compiled a list of the areas the batboys are the most knowledgeable about:

Richard: math, musical history, anatomy

Jason: classics, ancient history, theology

Tim: anthropology, photography, textiles

Duke: physical sciences, architecture

Damian: art history, zoology, black-smithing

*For clarification, all my knowledge of the DCU is from the Young Justice TV series, the CW Flash, wikis, and other DC fans. Please correct me if I'm wrong about something.

Okay hear me out on this : Buffy Summers and Jason Todd as best friends.

They bond over the shared traumatic experience, that is crawling out your own grave after you were dead for a longer time period and how this changes you pretty dramatically.

Both Buffy and Jason always had more problems to deal with than most other kids their age, but at the start of their story, they are both portrayed as sunshine characters. Sure they both had sad moments and difficult times in their child soldier phase, before their deaths but after…

Anyway this is why I think we should talk about Buffy in Gotham instead of Danny phantom

This is old art, but i have a problem with finishing anything, ever, so honestly unless anything i post is particularly popular and i feel motivated to finish it,,, shrug.

I was going to come back to this before posting it, but the more i looked at it, the more i found i needed to fix, and i get bored redoing stuff all the time :/ but i was really proud of this when i did it, and past me would want present me to post it probably.

(But people supporting my blog is a big motivator — it feels like i’m creating with purpose! So i appreciate any and all interaction)

HEAR ME OUT- GUYS SIT YOUR ASSES DOWN AND LISTEN TO MY ANGST PROMPT:

So we all know the Joker has been a pain in the ass for everyone, yadda yadda, backstory stuff, boo hoo crying and shit.

This usually leads to great angsty fics revolving around Jason and/or Tim. Usually having the best angst covering Joker Junior and stuff. I’ve seen the headcannons, cried at the fics, great stuff.

BUT, but- no guys, hear me out, consider this. During one of Tim’s episodes -I was thinking this is years after, already going through his Red Robin character growth- it triggers after a long, long, time. How it started is up to your interpretation. But, instead of Jason being the first one to find him during his episode, no, it’s Duke Thomas.

THINK ABOUT IT!! Guys, the man already witnessed his parents go mad from Joker Venom, can you imagine how he’d react seeing someone else he considers his family show signs of being Jokerized!? THE POTENTIAL!!

And like, of course he’s not going to know about the JJ stuff and already assume the worst. Other members can get involved too, but image the scare Duke -alone- would have upon first witnessing Tim’s episode!

i really liked dark knights of steel but bruce being clark’s half brother really threw me off. like i know that it was supposed to be medieval and stuff so it didn’t rlly matter if ‘batman’ had powers but it feels like it goes against his character??

like he’s literally supposed to be this unnaturally powerful person DESPITE not having powers amongst all these god like beings of creation and strength. that’s what makes him stand out and what makes him ten times scarier!!

i also didn’t rlly like how the robins were written :( i hate hate HATEEEEE when they’re written to be his employees. its such a watered down version of their purpose but wtv nothings perfect.

the jason todd music debate is so funny cuz like what time do you think he had to listen to music??

Imagine them using their civilian personas to do so because atp they honestly dc, and the batfam not knowing till they like go to a restaurant and the manager sees them and welcomes them like "If it isn't our dearests Tim and Damian, why didn't you tell us you were coming? Please come over here, we have an area for special guests we'll make sure nobody disturbs you"

And it's way funnier because f'ing Bruce Wayne is there but the manager doesn't care abt him and everyone is like ???

And the manager remembers smth and is like "Oh right! I forgot to welcome you to T&D's dinner, the best food stablishment in the area" and she seems apologetic to Tim and Damian and is like "I'm sorry we haven't been able to change our name yet, you know how this procedures are blah blah blah" and everyone gets even more confused.

Mind you, Tim and Damian don't even bother to clarify.

And everyone wonders abt that till months later Duke finds an add from them, smth like "T&D professional detectives, you are frightened? We are enlightened"

And there's a photo of Tim and Damian (& Titus with one of Bruce's ties obv to make him look sophisticated) with those horrible glittery frames and a set of all of their successful jobs (obv everything is written with Comic sans because it started as a joke till it wasn't) which include some like...

-Uncovering the Loch Ness Monster

-Beating Dracula in a Chess Game

-Giving Free therapy to Frankenstein

-Making the best sandwich ever created (For Jesus)

-Professional Exorcism

-Preventing a war from happening

-Marriage counseling

And the list goes on and on, with some very questionable ones (like that's not even being a detective anymore) but I mean their job works so...

Bonus points if Bernard was actually included, he not only was the driver but also as Damian puts it a very "Competent" detective, and so when everyone questions them keeping it a secret they're like "But it wasn't a secret? Bernard was also there..." (the only reason he's not in the add being they had already finished it when Bernard became part of the team, hence they were lazy enough no to make another and Bernard is a really chill guy so he didn't mind, he was just happy to be with Tim.)

I AM NOW OBSESSED WITH THE IDEA OF TIM AND DAMIAN DRIVING FROM CITY TO CITY WITH TITUS AND GETTING INTO SHENANIGANS LIKE THE SCOOBY GANG AND HAVING TO SOLVE STUPID MYSTERIES IN EACH NEW CITY

PLEASE IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES

IT WOULD BE GLORIOUS

Tim would be tryna set all sorts of dumb traps and Damian is like “it’s so obvious it’s the underpaid teacher” and they keep a tally of who’s right and whoever is right gets to pick the next city

Also just imagine Damian being called a “meddling kid” Tim would have to hold him back from punching someone

Somehow their adventures lead to them becoming honorary mayors in several towns, getting several keys to cities, and having 5 restaurants and diners named after them, and on one honorable occasion a town made a statue of Titus to commemorate him

Tumblr’s reminder, PLEASE STOP SAYING TERRY IS A CLONE HES AN ATTEMPTED BIOLOGICAL CLONE BY TRYING TO GET THE EXACT VARIABLES THAT MADE BATMAN HAPPEN, WHICH FAILED, HE ISNT A LITERAL CLONE OF BRUCE. WALLER LITERALLY SAYS HE ISNT, TERRY IS JUST BEING A DRAMA QUEEN TO WHICH WALLER SHUTS HIM DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES.

OH AND HE HAS A BIOLOGICAL BROTHER THAT IS EXACTLY LIKE HIM! NO. HE WASNT BORN IN A LAB, HE HAS A FATHER AND MOTHER! PLUS THE ONLY REASON HES RELATED TO TERRY IS BECAUSE TERRYS DADS DNA WAS ESSENTIALLY TURNED INTO BRUCES.

This is like saying Damian is a clone of Bruce because someone raised him with two parents kinda like Martha and Thomas therefore he’s his clone.

Please justice for Matt just existing and Terry being Bruce’s son.

Also Wallers plan sucked in the first place due to the fact she was trying to make a second Bruce but failed at the first step, BRUCE IS A BILLIONAIRE TERRY ISN’T, HE DOESN’T HAVE ANYONE LIKE ALFRED PLUS HE HAS A LITTLE BROTHER.

She was likely to get “yeah I have other responsibilities, mainly the fact I’m taking care of a kid” and “I am vengeance” Jason Todd style rather then Bruce.
