A guide to designing wheelchair using characters!
I hope this helps anyone who's trying to design their oc using a wheelchair, it's not a complete guide but I tried my best! deffo do more research if you're writing them as a character
i get people telling me im a nihilist sometimes but im really not. i just dont shy away from talking about the “negative” parts of life because i think its an important step towards change.
i dont think we are doomed, nor do i think nothing matters. im angry. im upset. and i want change. theres a difference.
i think its dangerous to loop all angry people into nihilism.
im seeing sooo much misdirected anger and blame in all kinds of communities and im just rahhh its so sad and frustrating because i just want to scream that theyre angry at the wrong people
fellow LSN disabled people, this is coming from a place of much compassion and love. i hear you when you say you’re jealous of MSN/HSN people’s support. how you wish you could have such support. mental health is complicated and it’s hard to see through emotions and trauma.
but i really need you to understand that our higher support needs disabled friends aren’t inherently privileged for having said support. while it may be that if you had that same support your QOL would improve, they most likely need the support you’re jealous of to literally survive.
the point i really want to make here is there is a difference between support for QOL and support to SURVIVE. people die without these supports. that is not a privileged position to be in.
you’re allowed to be upset and angry that you don’t have the life you want and deserve, but please focus those feelings on society and governments. because they are the ones that created a world in which it is so hard for us to exist.
we need to be friends to each other, not throwing around misdirected anger and blame. please take time to listen to MSN/HSN disabled people and learn about their experiences, there are so many people out there begging to be heard.
it hurts hearing other disabled people talk about medical mistreatment.
like i am partly grateful to not be alone of course, but i really wish it wasnt a common or even standard occurrence.
breaks my heart.
no because it just absolutely enrages me when people consider themselves a “freedom fighter” or an “activist” or whatever the fuck you wanna call it.
but then they dont apply that to all minorities.
why is one minority less worthy than the other?
why arent more able bodied people fighting for disability advocacy?
see disabled people as humans, as peers, as equals.
we deserve access to everything you do. we deserve the chance to have a happy and comfortable life just as you do.
dont push us out of sight and out of mind.
we do not deserve that. we are equals.

I know I haven't been posting much art lately. Sorry about that. I have been having some burn out and my mental health has been shit.
Anyways, I figured I would post what's been on my mind today.
I know many of us who currently live or are born in The States/USA have felt pretty hopeless with everything going on in the country at the moment. Especially because of the whole Biden V Trump shit that has been going on for a long while.
We have felt like that no matter who we vote for it's honestly pointless because either Biden or Trump will win. Well, honestly I would HIGHLY recommend checking out Mrs. Marianne Williamson.
Marianne Williamson is the only person in the Democratic party who has been calling for a ceasefire over in Gaza since the very beginning.
She stated that if she becomes the president she is going to be negoiating with the Ukraine and going to try and do as much as she can to help.
She, if she becomes president, wants to establish a Department of Peace because she believes that we need to better target and discuss peace just as much as we do war.
She wants to fight climate change.
She wants to make healthcare and college universal and free.
She wants to help disabled communities.
She wants to give land back to Indigenous tribes.
She wants to create more gun safety laws.
She wants to make jobs and homes more accessable.
She wants to help protect reproductive rights.
She wants to target mental health and make it more accessable to the people.
She wants to put more POC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled people into our government to be certain that when they are discussing matters that personally target those communities, people who represent those communities can speak their minds on it.
She wants to provide funding over the span of two decades to the black communities for the years of slavery that our country has put them through.
She wants to target poverty and the economy as a whole.
And lots more.

Please spread this around as much as possible! We need a president who stands with Gaza, the LGBTQIA+ Community, the POC community, the Disabled Community, etc. She is that. She is just aaa. I checked out here site and was not disappointed. You can find her main site -> here
