Inspired by the song “Bacterial Contamination” by Kanamiso-P!

So I got an ask on my RP blog to draw Alphys if she’d encountered the same fate as Gaster, and it lead me to create my own Void Alphys! Below are some general ideas/headcanons I had for this new version of Alphys!

Void Alphys is completely blind in her left eye. She can still see out of her right eye, but not without some kind of seeing aid (Such as her glasses). Because of this, Void Alphys relies more on sound than vision.

Void Alphys does not have true arms or legs. Below her elbows and knees her body is nothing more than black, tar-like substance.

Void Alphys has no tail

Void Alphys has no color to her

The tar-like substance that makes up Void Alphys arms/legs are very sticky, and leaves residue wherever she goes. 

The black tar always gravitates back towards Alphys body whenever it drips off/is cut off of her main body.

Void Alphys has lost nearly all forms of communication. Because she has no hands, she cannot text, type, write, and so on. She can speak, but not for long. When she speaks, her vocal cords begin to ooze the black tar. If she speaks for too long, the tar-like substance will begin to obstruct her airway. Because it causes her too much pain, Void Alphys almost never speaks.

The tar-like substance of her arms and legs has elasticity, allowing Void Alphys to stretch and contract her arms/legs at will. She usually only does this with her arms, and only uses it to catch or ensnare anyone who threatens her.

The tar-like substance cannot be harmed in any way, but her main body can be.

Undyne is the only one who has ever heard Void Alphys speak.

May add more stuff or tweak things later, but that’s a general basis for my new AU Alphys~! Hope you guys enjoy it!!

Summer is here!

My school just got out, so now I have much more time to work on comics! I can finally pick Mr. Sleepy back up!!

I drew Alphys and Nimiee from the next episode of UnderAnger. (Still not sure when that's gonna be done 😅)

Other than that, do you know what this means? BTA will be a year old soon! And UA's many different versions will be... Well, the newest version is already a year old, the old comic will be 5 years old soon, the old written version will be 6 in december, and the ORIGINAL paper comic is roughly 9 years old. Woah... (UA has a lot of history lol)

I should probably do something for Before the Angers first birthday, right? Its on July 8th! What can I do in that time? An animation? Theme songs? Both? (don't get your hopes up about that lol)

Before the Anger- episode 60, "What is a God? (pt. 1)"

Holy shit Gaster, chill. That went from 5 to 100 in just a few panels.

I am very sparse with physical touch in BTA. That's so that when you see characters physically close to each other, it has more meaning. The reason for the meaning in touch is because in this AU, with no magic and a kill-or-be-killed mindset, being close is a huge vulnerability. So, look out for physical touch in my comics :)

Guys!!! Guess what?! New side story starts today! Here you go:

((Chara was sitting on the window sill of the rounded window in Toriel’s home. It was large enough where she could comfortably fit her entire body, like a chair. As she looked out the window, her skirt and hair pooled over the sides of the sill, she almost looked peaceful. But as Asriel got closer, he could see her twitching mouth and her hands clutching her stomach, as always.))

Alphys does not like to lie unless it's to save her life. Therefore, this moment is a very big deal for her.

This episode was the first in a very long time that I've written and drawn it. What I've been doing is using old scripts but this one is totally new! Alphys is in her depression fit. I wish my depression fits was as fashionable as hers...

Alphys- "Are you having a bad hair day? Is that why you don't want me to see you?"

Toriel- "(with a laugh) I don't have hair."

Alphys- "Oh, yeah. Neither do I... I wish I did, though! If I had hair, I would have such intricate styles, a new one each day. I used to want to be a hairdresser when I was a kid, but so little monsters have hair that I concluded it wouldn't profitable. I like science more, anyhow."

Toriel- "(sigh) ...Why don't you come in?"

Before the Anger- episode 50, "Looooooong Story (pt. 6)"

Alphys, I think that kinda borders on immoral...

((Toriel searched for Chara and Asriel, the worst in her mind. She worried this would happen, with Chara skittish behavior around other monsters. Finally, she found them in Waterfall. When she asked what happened, Asriel stood up and said “Chara and I wanted to go for a swim.” Toriel furrowed her brow. Asriel was only six years old, he had never lied to her before. Asriel clutched Chara’s sleeve with a nervous smile.))

That was the end of that side story! Also, the end of "Looooooong Story" saga... Kinda.

((“It’s hard to-… to be the only one of your kind in a big, scary, new world. Can you imagine if you landed in a world with only humans, no friends?” Chara explained. Asriel paused for a moment, then sat down in front of her. “You have me! We are friends, right?” Asriel held his breath as he waited for Chara’s response. Chara smiled and pet Asriel, “Yeah. It’s just you and me against the world, buddy.”))

The BTA-Gaster-hate club is, in my head, growing exponentially every episode. Or maybe reading Before the Anger is an automatic enrollment into the BTA-Gaster-hate club. Idk, my friend still likes him for some reason....

Before the Anger- episode 48, "Looooong Story (pt. 4)"

((Chara heard something behind her and jolted to attack. The second before her fist was about to land, she pulled away. It was only Asriel. Asriel was shaken, but continued toward her anyway, his eyes large with surprise. “Why’d you run away, Chara?” Chara caught her breath, soothed by his childish voice.))

This, coincidentally, was posted around Valentine's day! I didn't make a special for it because I forgot, but let's pretend this was the special.

A very long episode today!! Do y'all mind or should I keep making them shorter?

((That night, Chara didn’t eat. Or the next, or the night after that. Toriel and Asgore were concerned, but being that they didn’t know much about humans, they had assumed Chara had a different diet. And in any case, the other monsters were getting curious about Chara’s existence and wanted answers, so they arranged a QnA at the castle, with Chara’s permission, of course.))

I'm sorry... I made art for something that isn't going to happen for a long while in my comic. Grillby is in Before the Anger, but it is mainly his daughter that makes any appearances. They are mainly only for comedy purposes (his daughter is also named Grillby.)

I like how dramatic this drawing is for a non-serious bit. Such minor characters deserve awesome art.

Before the Anger- episode 40, "Student Party? (pt. 2)"

Cliff hanger! And, spoiler, the cliffhanger won't be resolved next episode because there's a Holidays special... But, after that, it'll be back!

This is episode 40! That means theres only 10 episodes until we are caught up with the WEBTOON. Once we are caught up, I will be posting them at the same time: every Thursday normally around 12pm but things happen lol. It'll be sad to say goodbye to daily-ish posting, but oh well! It may give me more time to make official art of this story, which tends to do better on tumblr.

No side story today, since we finished that last one. The next side story will start on episode 42. I'm very excited for it, and you should be too :)

Before the Anger- episode 39, "Student Party? (pt. 1)"

We are finally learning more about Gaster and Siqua. But Alphys past still remains a mystery (I don't want to get you excited, it takes a while until we learn more about Alphys. Sorry!)

((“Of course I know about her. She’s the basis of the entire royal guard!” Although it wasn’t relevant, Elaine felt compelled to say, out of pride, that, “When I was 10, I met her! Well, I think. I’m not sure, but she looked pretty human-like.” Papyrus stood from the couch and smoothed his jacket. “I met her too. Before everyone knew she was the… fallen one. I didn’t have the knowledge I do now and…” Papyrus looked uncomfortable, “Well, let’s just say, if she ever comes back, she’s not gonna be very happy with me. So I left the royal guard. I don’t deserve to protect her.”))

The end! That was the last of this specific side story. What Papyrus said only makes sense if you have read the rewritten Under Anger, pretty much he (spoilers) tries to kill Nimiee. I'm now realizing that probably also doesn't make sense... If you want you can read it here but its unfinished.

I love this episode! All the little details make my nerd heart happy. This episode has set the most timeline out of all the others so far!

((Elaine and Papyrus had gotten to know each other. Months had passed. They were close, like an older, responsible brother and a found sister. Papyrus wasn’t what Elaine had expected. He didn’t try to be a “father figure”, but his presence brought the same comforting energy anyway. But there was one question Elaine had: why would Papyrus quit being a royal guard?))

I didn't mean to give Gaster sass in his final panel. Please. Don't be like my friend and thirst over him. I deeply regret and apologize for what I've done.

((--So she was. All through the process of being assigned the caretaker, people looked right at her and called her “Elaine.” She’d never felt such a feeling before. All the way to Papyrus’s house, hearing the door open, seeing his face; he smiled and said, “Elaine, it’s nice to meet you!”))
