“Where are we going?” yn cuts through the silence.
“park around the corner” Taehyun replies matching yn’s bitchy tone.
The park around the corner revealed itself as a serene oasis amidst the urban hustle. Taehyun parked the car, the engine’s hum dissipating into the rustling leaves and distant city sounds. Yn stepped out, Fifi nestled securely in his arms.
The pair settle down beside each other in silence not knowing how to break the ice. Silence drapes over them once again, making taehyun let out a sigh then another and another-
“Will you stop sighing?” yn snaps, irritated.
“this is exactly what we need to avoid, your bitchy behavior” taehyun says poking a finger at yn.
“Stop changing the topic, you know damn well if you weren’t sighing like- 5 times a second I wouldn’t have said something” yn stands his ground.
“fine then, let’s make a deal you tone down your attitude and I’ll stop being a sighing machine” yn gazes at him skeptically, contemplating for a moment.
“add your sarcastic comments as well” yn remarked.
Silence envelopes once again on mutual understanding, only when Fifi leaves yn’s lap and makes her way to taehyun’s it is broken.
“Fifi no!” yn says exasperated at the betrayal.
“hi Fifi, I missed you!” taehyun coo’s at her holding her front paws in his own hands.
Fifi let’s out several mew’s kneading at the puffy fabric of taehyun’s coat. A smile plays on Taehyun’s face as he enjoys the unexpected attention from Fifi. Yn, caught between irritation and amusement, watches the scene unfold with a mix of exasperation and a begrudging smile.
”Looks like someone missed me more,” Taehyun teases, his fingers gently tousling Fifi’s fur. The playful banter, though lighthearted, carries a subtle undercurrent of their shared history.
Yn, trying to conceal a smile, retorts, “She’s just easily distracted. Don’t let it get to your head.”
Taehyun picks up the call after a loud ring, placing it near his ear as he picks up Fifi along with him and walks away to attend the call.
Yn sits patiently at the bench.
“Yes, mom?” taehyun asks immediately after he picks up the call.
“Hyunnie, where are you? I made dinner! come home quick” the elderly lady points out.
Taehyun falls silent for a while contemplating wether he should disclose that he’s with yn or keep it a secret. Fifi helps him out, a loud mewl going to the other side.
“is that Fifi?” mrs. Kang asks taehyun. “is yn with you then?” she continues.
“mhm, it is fifi, yn is also here” taehyun confirms looking back at yn who raised a brow questioningly.
“wonderful! Ask him to tag along, I made food enough for every one” she says to her son.
“mom, I don’t think he’ll come with, Fifi is a bit cold. I’ll drop them home and come right away” taehyun lies assuming yn wouldn’t agree either way.
“Oh! Tell yn to take care of Fifi then” mrs. Kang utters worried.
“yes.”
As taehyun walks back to yn, he finds yn shivering in the cold. Fifi having completed her impromptu mission with taehyun jumps back into yn’s arms.
“Mom invited Fifi and you to dinner” taehyun informs.
Yn asks without lifting his gaze- “mhm, what’d you say?”
“said that Fifi was cold and I’ll drop you both home instead”
Yn finally turns his gaze to match Taehyun who stood exactly in front of him. “then let’s do that” yn says with a tilt of his head.
“Alright let’s get you both home then. Mom will understand” Taehyun says offering a hand.
Yn’s gaze shifts from Taehyun to his extended hand them back again at Taehyun. Ignoring the ‘kind’ gesture, yn makes his way ahead still salty about their falling out.
Taehyun presses his tongue against his cheek as he follows yn back to his car. Hands finding their way back to his pockets.
The ride home was quiet, albeit too quiet for yn. As they neared yn’s apartment neither of them broke the silence.
“Well I’ll take my leave, thanks for the ride” yn said to taehyun as he stepped out of the car. Taehyun gave a silent nod Waiting for yn to step inside the house.
He saw as yn fumbled with the keys in one hand and Fifi in another until finally the door opened and yn disappeared behind the closed door.

But what taehyun's parents don't know is that yn and taehyun broke up long ago.
Now, in order to not sully the mood, they both agree to fake date until the end of their trip. But what happens next?

Taehyun pulled up to yn’s apartment at 6:45, exactly 15 minutes before the designated time. The sun had already fallen as the cold air breezed outside. Taehyun didn’t mind waiting till 7, not at all.
He turns up the heater, feeling rather cold suddenly. A song plays on the radio, while taehyun tunes out resting his eyes for a nap, might as well catch up on sleep.
Yn on the other hand in the comfort of his home, plays with his little cat- fifi, who looked as if she’d fall asleep any moment.
Although yn would love for his kitty to rest, that was simply not allowed- don’t get him wrong, he isn’t letting fifi fall asleep for her own good. If he let her succumb to slumber now, fifi would roam all around the house throughout the night. Not sleeping herself as well as not letting her parent get a wink of sleep as well.
“Fifi! Get up” yn says hushed, not wanting to scare the baby with loud noises.
Little green eyes, blink open as fifi walks right into yn’s hand seeking warmth. Yn screams internally at fifi’s cute antics then proceeds to dress her up and warm sweater he and taehyun had brought when they were together.
Yn’s face dims at the thought. Fifi let’s out a mewl dragging yn’s attention to herself as she cuddles up to yn’s thumb.
HONK-
Flinching at the sudden sound, Yn looks at the time and rushes out with fifi, holding her close to his chest.
Taehyun unlocks the passenger seat door lock and let’s yn in.
“you’re late” taehyun comments, refusing to look at yn.
“By fucking 3 minutes? Next time just text me when you get here. You know, how scared Fifi got when you honked out of nowhere?” yn replies, caressing fifi’s Mane.
Taehyun, unaware of the fact that yn decided to bring Fifi along, turns sour.
“Why’d you bring her? You know how cold it is” taehyun says stern.
Yn could barely control himself from rolling his eyes at the man.
“I don’t think you know but Fifi lives with me, I’ll decide whether to leave her alone or bring her along” yn voiced.
Taehyun winced at the forceful impact of Yn's words, a stark reminder that they were no longer together. The realization cut deep, highlighting the transformation in Yn—from the carefree and joyful person he once knew to the current stern and distant version.
Throughout the rest of the drive, silence falls over. Not the comfortable kind, but the irritable and uncomfortable kind. Taehyun locks his gaze to the road driving to a nearby park while yn watched the scenery pass by, letting fifi bite his fingers.
