Illustration’s by William Wallace Denslow(1856-1915) for his book Denslow’s Mother Goose. He’s probably best known as the illustrator for L.Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” .Denslow is such a fascinating artist to me for his time his drawings look pretty modern the limited colors, minimalist backgrounds, bold choices like just having a shape as a background, and his cartoonish thick outlined designs are pretty graphically ahead in kids book illustration for the early 1900s shame he didn’t illustrate the other Oz books don’t get me wrong I love John R Neil but Denslows art just has a odd charm to it I want to see in the other Oz books.
I found some stunning fanarts of the Moulin Rouge! Cast inspired by Lautrec's artworks for his Birthday Contest in 2019 ❤️✨

Costumes of Moulin Rouge! The Musical
Costume Designer Catherine Zuber, who has been nominated 15 times for a Tony Award (and has won 8 of them, including her nomination for Moulin Rouge!) created about 300 costumes for the spectacular musical.
The artisans at Parson’s Costumes in NYC have been known to create 793 unique pieces for the show by translating Zuber’s illustrations.
Although rooted in turn of the century Belle Époque fashion, the designs embrace contemporary influences, making concessions for a modern score and choreography.
From the colourful Can-Can skirts worn by the dance ensemble, Satine's crystallized corset, and the hand-painted costumes inspired by the artwork of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, every piece is truly a labour of love.
