three: the meet up
warnings: pure feelings and angst if you squint, slight profanity?
Sunghoon fumbled with his fingers as the old secretary gave him smiles every now and then. To be quite frank he was panicking over this tutor.. was he someone familiar?, would he judge him for his stupidity?, were they even a he??, questions clouded his mind. Alongside this was the slight guilt of leaving his girlfriend at the side of the street upon notification. Maybe he could get her some snacks on the way home? His thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of footsteps down the hall as he unconsciously brushed over himself, straightening the wrinkles in his sweater. “Hey!” she spoke as he jumped in his seat startled at the voice, eyes meeting hers as he stared. That‘s pretty much all he did actually… he stared the whole time until a cough from the other lady in the room shook some sense in to him. “Ah, Hi I’m Sunghoon” she nodded her head in response pulling out a notebook from her beige tote bag. “I’m Aerin! Kang Aerin, It’s nice to meet you” she gave him a smile which he returned. “May I have a second? I just need to jot a few things down” she asked, he replied with a simple hum. He glanced at her a few times covering it up with a smile on attempts to look polite. “So what do you find challenging Sunghoon?” his facial expression shifted in confusion, “Huh?”. A chuckle left her lips “What’s hardest for you in the course? anything specific?” she repeated in attempts to make things simple. “I understood what you said the first time I’m not thaaat stupid, I didn’t know I had to have specifics ready” He spoke again quite playfully as her smile only grew. “Pretty” he thought but quickly shook his head. “So.. are you free this week?” she said as his eyes widened in disbelief, “I have a girlfriend” he spoke a little too loud, he would never do anything to hurt you like that. She suddenly burst in to a fit of laughter at his confession, “I’m not hitting on you, it’s so I can plan out our study schedule” his cheeks flushed red at the information. “Uh yeah I’m free after Wednesday next week” he spoke quite embarrassed avoiding eye contact. “Alright! well I didn’t really have much planned out it was just a quick meet up so I’ll see ya!” she spoke almost rambling, and damn the girl was fast. He grabbed his coat trying to catch up, “WAIT” he yelled startling himself and her as she flinched at his voice. “Yeah?” she replied, it was late so he thought it would be nice, “I’ll walk you home” he shyly spoke rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s fine really you look like a busy dude” his eyes shot up, “No, No really It’s late so I insist” her eyes lit up at his kindness “Thank you.” The two began to walk in silence as the night wind and singing crickets accompanied them. It was comforting at most, not an akward kind of silence between to who weren’t quite friends but not quite strangers. “DAZED DAZED DAZED” a sudden sound broke through the moment as Sunghoon rummaged through his pocket to retrieve his phone. The Caller ID read “my love<3” as he glimpsed at the time, realization hit him.
“Hey love are you alright? It’s been quite a few hours just wanted to check up on you”
“I’m so sorry I didn’t let you know bubs the meeting took a little longer than expected”
“Noo you don’t always have to notify me, everyone has their moments I just wanted to make sure you weren’t hurt or anything..”
“I’m alright just making my way home soon I don’t think I’ll be able to come over I’m so sorry y/n I really am”
“It’s no problem, really, get home safely! I’m gonna head to bed so goodnight, I love you more than I can describe”
“and I love you even more, goodnight baby I hope you dream of me” he spoke chuckling as the call cut off.
He almost failed to notice the presence of the other girl who simply stood waiting. “You must really love her” she spoke purely what she thought. “I do, I really do” he replied smiling back. would he stay truthful to his word?…only time will tell.
[just a short written chapter now things get started ;)]
