Have been listening to Hozier for five hours straight. Feeling heavenly, feeling blessed, feeling in love with this life.
Today I am using Six Sentence Sunday to unveil my new banner and Official Title™ of the RWRB dads' storyline swap fic — though the working title of Daddy Issues has been fun, it really doesn't fit the ~vibes~ so without further ado, it's now named... Honey, you're familiar (like my mirror years ago).
This fic is lowkey an accidental song fic for "From Eden" and I'm kinda obsessed. Without further ado, enjoy this excerpt (warning for reference to loss of parent):
If Oscar Díaz were here, maybe he’d ask, “Isn’t that the boy you had that crush on, mijo?” Maybe he’d make an observation, something like “He’s a looker.” Maybe he’d urge Alex on, whispering, “Trust the Díaz charm. Shoot your shot, chamaco.” But he’s not here, and the truth is Alex doesn’t know what his father would say. So instead, he just has to trust his gut — which is telling him to turn away from the hot almost-naked boys and approach the hot English-prince-son-of-James-Bond boy. He may be fully clothed — in a button down and blazer in Rio in August — but he’s featured in way too many of Alex’s dreams for him to miss this opportunity.
Shout out to @littlemisskittentoes for the titling help! And thank you to @kiwiana-writes and @zwiazdziarka for the tags!

I wonder if there are any Crowley x Aziraphale fics or amvs inspired by Hozier's From Eden.
"Honey, You're familiar like my mirror years ago"
Crowley can see the ideology of an angel trying to be the best he can be with how their psychology works and he can just see that path and how fucked it is.
"Idealism sits in prison/Chivalry fell on its sword"
The way the angels are working they're in a prison of their own making. They don't see how asanine they are compared to how the world works. Even demons understand things more because of how damned they are.
But angels are supposed to be the ideal beings, but their innocence is perverted. * cue James Baldwin quote here*
"Innocence died screaming"
I BET you Crowley screamed while falling to hell because he realized how backwards the angel ideology is. Plus the physical pain.
"Honey ask me I should know"
Reference back to the mirror. He knows the end result.
"I slithered here from Eden just to hide outside your door."
The fiction writes itself.
There's something so heartbreakingly romantic about breaking your moral code for someone. Following them knowingly into hell
From Eden – rustic sunny orchards, wildflowers in an empty wine bottle, sickeningly sweet jealousy, red apples in a battered woven basket, picnic in a meadow, running through uncut grass, green cardigan over a red dress, braiding your lover's hair.
inspired by “In A Week” by Hozier
I'm literally crushed by the fact that one day Hozier will be recognized as old people's music and not be cool, I'm just not ready for that.
sorry i’m late i slithered here from eden just to hide outside your door
