freya’s head turns , her cool gaze meeting gwen’s . “ reckless ? or something more out of your comfort zone ? ” she quirks a brow at the younger woman . “ you know as well as i they’re always sniffing out the next best salacious thing to report on , ” she’ll shrug , casually bringing her cup of tea to her lips to take a small sip . “ the more important questions is : do you think doing something reckless will get them off your back ? ” she already knows the answer . it’ll only bring more attention to gwen and further drive the ‘ golden girl corrupted ’ narrative the tabloids have gone with . “ don’t get me wrong , it’s certainly one way to pivot from your old image but i don’t think it’s the most effective way to cement your image . people will say what they want no matter what you do , but you have to ask yourself what is impulsively doing something reckless going to prove ? ”

truthfully , harlowe couldn’t care less about what the press had to say about their little encounter with one of the paparazzi . after spending a majority of the adolescence in the public eye , the negative press no longer fazes them . it’s cutthroat . and while it’d be GREAT if the paparazzi ceased to exist , they doubt that it’ll ever happen . at gwen’s question , harlowe shrugs and smirks lightly . “ i think they should count themselves lucky that i wasn’t driving . but honestly , i don’t care . there’ve been worse things said about me . ” exhibit a , the negative claims that satanic panic is back because they’d transitioned from their child star image to their rockstar brand . “ besides , i clearly don’t think they’ve learned . and i doubt they’ll ever learn . they swarmed tobey maguire before that . and i’m pretty sure they’ve even swarmed tom hanks when he was out with his wife . getting a swing in was justified . it’s not like i destroyed their five thousand dollar camera setup , y’know ? ”

ꨄ 𝅄 ❛ “ i saw that article about you , ” she mentioned , the words followed by a soft sigh . the press could be so brutal , and for what ? while gwen might've loved attention herself , she still detested the fact that the media had always been so eager to show the worst parts about a person during tense moments . it might've made them a quick buck , but from a moral standpoint , she couldn't stand it . “ if you ask me , i think you actually went a little easy on them , ” gwen told the other , shrugging . “ some people just need to learn how to respect personal space , really . hopefully they don't make the same mistake with someone else . how are you feeling since all of that went down anyways ? ”
