thinking abt that time in one of my art classes when the prof put up a silhouette of L from death note and said “this is not an effective design bc you can’t tell who this character is from this shape” 

and everyone in the class went like “yes we can that’s L from death note”

first off hes a irish wolf hound (mainly more aesthetic and personality reasons :) tall...)

despite being a hound dog he has a control of his 'prey drive' which was a relief when he found you small and in tattered clothes little rips from when you bolted off from him initially seeing him his towering rugged form would send most dogs tail tucked cowering to those who knew him either as colonel or friend held high respects for the man.

but you , You had had smacked him on his head leaving him a bit confused, It didn't take a long to figure out that you could speak and spoke English

he'd never seen one of your kind but regardless he led you back to the base took care of you, food and water the usual questioning.

this is when things got weird well months later they got weird after gaining your trust you did these weird things he didn't understand but he tried to for the sake of your young age, you bared your teeth at him constantly it took a few weeks to understand this was your way of showing happiness lack of a tail and all.

then another thing you used to (and thankful learned not to anymore) tug on ears and tails and pet others and him especially boundaries were quickly set after that.

you were a nice kid..pup..?..calf..cub...cub? He didnt bother to ask what you were but he liked you a lot , those quiet moments were you'd just draw near him , the times were you were tired and clung to him crawling onto his back mumbling something about a horse.

hes never thought of himself as a parental figure he never saw himself with kids much he didn't not like them the idea of having some lingered for his to-do list after retirement but he think he'd settle with you with you and your little quirks all the 'weird' things you do makes you well you he admires that wishing he had that confidence as a pup to just be themselves.

he could see you get a bit reserved around others but quickly open back up when alone with him showing off your drawings, talking about your favorite things he didn't know what to do really aroun d you even as months went by he was still his awkward self as you talked and laughed.

he looked into cross species adoption.
