Real because, how can you forgive a villain who's killed 30+ civilians in cold blood, but not a man who's actively trying to ammend what he broke years ago ??
Both are terrible, by the way. Endeavor shouldn't get away with abuse, of course, but what will clear his name again ? Like, what does he have to DO for you to be satisfied đ«”?? Like where is the line drawn if you can forgive an active serial killer, but not an abuser who wants to atone for his actions ??
There's just so much nuance to it, it's not black and white, like with villains, sure they kill people, but they're also actively dismantling the society that shunned them. Most people can see why the villain feels justified. Endeavor abused his family, but he's trying to ammend that. Why can't people just see it for what it is mannnnn đ
He's literally willing to step out of their lives if it puts them at ease because he now understands how much he put them through, that he doesn't deserve to be a part of their lives anymore because he ruined the first half of them.
Usually, when people want a redemption arc, the WHOLE POINT of the redemption is for that character to understand where they went wrong. And then the next step is for the character to ammend their mistakes.
IS THAT NOT WHAT ENDEAVOR IS DOING ??
just saw another endeavor hate post so please let me reiterate again: i love endeavor. you will never take this fucked up old man away from me. i will be writing endeavor fic one of these days and i hope it makes everyone who hates him mad
call me crazy if you want but i believe that supporters of villain redemption canât complain about endeavor being redeemed. and everyone should in some respect support villain redemption because thatâs something of a thesis throughout the show (i.e., all these people needed was someone to reach out to them). but if you can redeem a killer of dozens (or hundreds, or thousands) and yet canât stomach a man who is doing everything he knows how to heal what he hurt? [points at door] go away
âkats he abused hisââ i donât care. do i need to bring back my post about how forgiveness is essential to oneâs own growth. even if they donât forgive him, heâs fine with that because heâs not trying to improve to win their forgiveness. heâs trying to improve because deep down heâs a good person. and that, sirs and madams, is what i care about
in short: endeavor i love you and the fandom can pry that love from my cold dead hands
Was sind eure Gedanken dazu?

The fact that he didnât see this coming was absolutely ridiculous â somehow, Isanami was always just Isanami. The fact that he was crying, the fact that he was emotional, didnât stop her from doing what she always did. Which? Was taking care of her team, in the only way she knew how. By being unapologetically herself. Including, but not limited to, forcing her teammates to make âfish-facesâ to stop them from hurting themselves.
When she did so, he released his bite rather then fight her. She was right, he shouldnât act that way. Least of all in front of her. ( . . . no. he shouldnât act that way at all. not now, when he was part of a team. )
The Fire Brave did nod then â a silent agreement not to do that again. And to listen to the other. His eyes still glistening a little, he just focuses his molten eyes on the otherâs amber hues. He would listen. He wouldnât run away. And, another way to show it? He hugs her just a little bit more. He wouldnât disappear. Heâd wait. Heâd listen. It was the very least Hanzo could do for his fellow BRAVE. Let alone the youth he was confessing all of this to. . .
When she started going into detail about all their adventures, he felt his lips twitch ever-so-slightly upwards. A small smile forcing itself onto his lips, despite the somber mood. They had a lot of shenanigans going for them, as members of this team, heâd found himself frequently at her side. Enjoying her company. He didnât mind her giving him unreasonable requests. It wasnât out of tolerance, it wasnât him just putting up with her, it was out of the fact that he was simply glad to be at her side. And if that was how she tolerated him? He was happy to comply. And as their time together had increased, so had the amount of times they sought out each otherâŠ
As she kept talking, as he kept listening, he barely noticed he stopped crying. He felt his chest tighten â f e a r, as he recognized it now, as she kept talking. However, he felt himself take a breath when she said she didnât hate him. And? That if he wanted to be her friend⊠he would have to live in the f u t u r e.
What a request. As a shinobi, heâs always been a tool. Heâd never planned anything for himself â and the time he did, it was out of spite. And that hadnât ended well. That had ended up with him losing an arm, and being frozen in a block of ice for a year⊠but⊠it had also ended in T H I S. So, was it really⊠b a d? Heâd let her finish. Staying silent, as promised, as she spoke⊠âManuel labor, letting you tease me, and living in the future? Living in the present? Not the past⊠I think⊠I think those t-terms are acceptable. I can live with that.â He tries to tease back - he knew his voice was a little flat. But? If she was trying to lighten the mood, who was he to ruin it?
He finally spoke again â his voice still raw. Pained. But, the tears in his eyes now were⊠relief. Not pain. âI wonât⊠disappear, Isanami. I promise you, I wonât⊠I wonât change how I act towards you. If youâre still here. If youâre⊠still willing to accept me at your side? I wonât⊠run away. I wonât hide myself behind walls. I donât⊠want to push you away. I want to be here. I want⊠I want to be human.â It was terrifying â to admit that he wanted that. Even if he was absolutely horrified by his emotions.
Even if he was tortured by what he did â if she wanted him to get his head out of the past, and start living for the here and now? Heâd⊠try.
âYouâll⊠have to forgive me. I wonât be very good at living in the here and now right away. But⊠Iâll learn. Iâll keep learning. I wonât⊠I wonât give up. If youâre willing to wait, if youâre willing to put up with me being just⊠stupidly bad at living for the future? If youâre willing to wait for me⊠Iâll keep trying until I catch up with you. I promise.â Hanzo very rarely used those words â he didnât make promises. He didnât make personal deals. As a shinobi â personal anything, was a failure on his part. But, in this instant? He was willing to f a i l at being a shinobi.
If it meant⊠that they could be f r i e n d s. That they could be companions. That he could belong here.
âI wonât push you away.â He murmurs again, nodding a little. Hanzo wasnât used to people wanting to be near him, but, despite his own insecurities. Despite his F E A R. He wouldnât do anything to hurt her⊠not again. Not if he could help it. â⊠as long as you want me to be here? I wonât go anywhere. Okay?â Somehow, this place had become his home. Somehow, U E D A had helped warm his heart â and open him up to people. Somehow, this rag-tag group of misfits had become his h o m e. And this place? He would protect it⊠regardless of what it took from him personally.
