Tyrant infodump/loredump because he means so much to me,, and a bit of elaborating on his pokemon form's design... yapping because I can
Also colored this because hell yeah
Writing down everything again because uhhhhh yes
Tyrant was created by Arceus as a counterpart to Volo, serving as a sort of demigod representative of pokemon, while Volo represents humanity. Not only that, but Tyrant was created with the intent of him being a kind of embodiment of innocence and childishness, he was supposed to be a beacon of positivity and gentleness among the already rather chaotic dynamic of the creation trio. He was however also tasked with a "hero" type of role. If there was a major problem, threat and the likes of that which humans alone couldn't deal with, it would be Tyrant's job to take care of it.
This duty didn't pair well with Tyrant's aspect of childishness and youth, though. Not because he couldn't do it, simply because it didn't exactly go well together. The very first time in which he had to prevent a disaster which humans couldn't on their own was back in Hisuian times, when he had to fight Volo, his own brother, to prevent the literal destruction of the world (pla plot and stuff)... Volo was in a way everything to Tyrant. The only real family he'd had, the person he could always come back to for support, someone he could rely on. Volo left Tyrant on mount coronet with the words that he was "old enough to care for himself" now. Tyrant wasn't, he wouldn't ever be.
Volo's disappearance completely shattered the bubble Arceus had raised Tyrant with, that certainty that everything would always be alright in the end. People around him celebrated the prevention of the world's end, but Tyrant's whole world had pretty much been destroyed after that fight on mount coronet.
After losing Volo, Tyrant became fixated on the idea that he had to be independent, that relying on other people was something completely unforgivable for him to do. He was a hero, chosen by Arceus, why would he have to rely on anyone?? Problem with that is that it's not how he works, independence and maturity was never intended for Tyrant. He is a child, if not physically, there will still forever be something childish stuck with him, in his mind.
He did still cling to Lian for a while, up until Lian's death actually, after which Tyrant reverted to living full-time as a pokemon. And even then, he distanced himself from other pokemon, never allowing himself to quite bond with any of them.
He rejoins human society during bw times, and fails miserably at it. Physically, by then, Tyrant is in his early to mid twenties. It takes him a while, but he does manage to figure out how to actually act his physical age after a while of awkward fails and coaching himself at it. That only worsens his already terrible mental state! Tyrant convinces himself that this is the perfect life for him, he convinces himself that, because Volo's whereabouts and wellbeing are still not exactly known, he has to manage watching over humans as well as pokemon. He should be old enough to take care of himself, so he should also be old enough to take on this duty. That's what being an adult is all about, independence and duties, at least that's how he's explained it to himself.
He copes with this existence very poorly, or not at all. He regularly has breakdowns during which he cannot control his shape-shifting abilities and trashes nearly anything around him, or moments in which he reverts to his form as a child, which he just beats himself up about because that's "too immature for him". Tyrant wasn't made to function without Volo, or at least any other caretaker, by his side. And so he doesn't function without those.
He's not human, and he will never quite be an adult, that is how Arceus made him to be. Tyrant's attempts at forcing himself into a strictly human life, as an adult at that, does nothing but harm to him.
Now the design yapping...
Tyrant is supposed fit in with the creation trio while also looking much more like an actual animal, and more innocent.... a lot weaker and more meek than the other deities. He's a little lamb wrapped up in a blanket of fur, basically. He's of course still supposed to look a bit off, more powerful than, like, your average Wooloo. But I definitely tried my best to let him keep a bit of a cutesy design??
He's not small in comparison to humans, he's about at Arceus' shoulder height (he can alter his height but I'd say that's the closest to his natural height).. but smaller than the rest of the creation trio!! I also wanted him to be a bit more Arceus-ish with the .. collar thingy around his neck, because he is considered Arceus' son.. I don't think I quite managed to do that?? Aside from that I wanted him to look like a package. A little bag. That's why he has those bow-like things.
Fun fact, the only part of him that's soft is that bag-looking part. That's wool-like. The rest of him has more of a smooth surface.
That's all :]]
