I need to share the story of what happened to the original Electric Mayhem bus, because it's actually kinda wild:

The original Electric Mayhem bus, as seen in The Muppet Movie (1979)

From Muppet Wiki: "In 1999, following the production of Muppets From Space, the original bus (along with a letter of authenticity signed by Brian Henson) was auctioned off on eBay for $50,000. In 2004, the bus was sold again on eBay and was purchased by Roger and Cindy Pfalzgraf of Staunton, Illinois. The Pfalzgrafs showcased the bus in local parades and events (including many charity events and several weddings) between 2004 and 2009. Apparently the Walt Disney Company was interested in featuring the bus in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, but they were unable to workout the logistics and a deal with the owners at the time."

The couple who bought the bus used it for events that go against the spirit of the band, such as D.A.R.E. and Autism Speaks. In 2009, just before an Autism Speaks event, the bus burst into flames.

Post from Muppet Central Forums by user gipsey muppet, dated July 28, 2009:

"there is no more Muppet bus. there I've said it, the electric mayhem is gone. Saturday as we were preparing for a car show to benefit 'Autism Speaks/ Special Olympics' of Illinois fire took the magic. were waiting for a report from the insurance adjuster to see if it can be rebuilt. my long history with automobiles tells me there is no way to save the bus. no more weddings, proms, childrens miracle network or D.A.R.E. shows. no more tours of the bus by Muppet fans only memories. i may post photos as i get over the shock and dissapointment, there very graphic so i may not.

And, according to Muppets Mayhem writer Jeff Yorkes... it was Zoot who caused the fire.

JOE: Because I feel like I read about, there was a fire or something years ago.

BILL: Yeah, caught on fire. Yeah.

JEFF: Zoot’s fault.
