Őrségi kástu
Rebekával tettünk egy rövid utat az Őrségben. Itt-ott le is ültünk rajzolni, ezt az éléskamrát a pityerszeri skanzenben láttuk. Aztán itthon vektoroztam és a rosszul látott részeket is kijavítottam, persze nem mindenhol. :D
Old Hungarian pantry
Rebeka and I spent some time in Őrség, which is a rural area at the border of Hungary, next to Austria and Slovenia. This land is mostly unchanged for the past centuries and it is full of kind people, traditional restaurants, mushrooms and beautiful old buildings. We took our chance to draw on the spot, because it's always fun to capture interesting architecture! So here is the last remaining Kástu with two floors which is still on the very spot where it was built. It was used to store all sorts of edible goods during winter season.
Balaton térkép
Most, hogy kezd elmúlni a nyár és egyre jobban hiányzik a Balaton, eszembe jutott, hogy ezt a térképemet még nem is töltöttem fel ide. A térképet a Nescafe❤️Balaton játékához rajzoltam. A kampányban Papp Gergely (Pimaszúr) és Vigh Bori (Backpacker Bori) mutatták be a nekik kedves helyeket a Balaton körül. Ezeket és még egy csomó más izgalmas helyet rajzoltam meg a térképhez. A térképből aztán a HPS készített egy animált verziót, amit itt tudtok megnézni: www.vimeo.com/281458303 A képek közé betettem a barlang és a kertmozi korábbi verzióit is, amik ebben a formában sajnos nem kerültek be a végleges anyagba, de nagyon szerettem őket.

Balaton Map
The summer is over here and I miss Balaton, a beautiful lake in Hungary. This summer Nescafé started a campaign with two famous influencers to reveal interesting places around Balaton, but off the beaten-path. I drew this map that contains fifteen specified attractions marked with detailed illustrations, ornamented with regular activities around Balaton. You can see two of the illustrations too, the cave and the outdoor cinema, which I really liked, but they needed a little modification.

A Városmajori Jézus szíve plébániatemplom épületegyüttese. A modern részek tervezője ugyanúgy Árkay Aladár, csak a kettő között eltelt 10 év.
I couldn't restrain myself of drawing the whole Church complex of Városmajor, Budapest. Both the old and the modern part were designed by the same architect, Aladár Árkay, but with 10 years difference.

Illustrated tourist map of Zirc and its surrounding area
I got the opportunity to draw the illustrated tourist map of Zirc, a small town in a beautiful green region of Hungary. I really enjoyed working on this piece, because Zirc and its surroundings has a lot of interesting spectacles to draw. It was challenging to fit all these buildings and locations on the map, sometimes it took me days to draw one and figure out its right position, but I always find these tasks really exciting and fulfilling. The most complex area to draw was the town center of Zirc, with the mighty building of the Cistercian Abbey and Arboretum.

Nagyon szerettem ezen a projekten dolgozni, mert rengeteg érdekes lerajzolnivaló van Zirc körül. A projekt legjobb része az volt mikor kitaláltam, hogy mi hova kerüljön majd a térképen. Ennek a legnehezebb része Zirc belvárosa volt, ahol nagyon sokmindent kellett ábrázolnom, úgy hogy a térképpel ezután is könnyen lehessen tájékozódni. A térkép többi részét nagyon élvezetes volt rajzolni, volt hogy egy-egy épülettel vagy látványosággal napokat is eltöltöttem.

The first illustration is a hypothetical reconstruction in its 18th century form, the second is the current condition. Old illustrations and the works of F. König, Ferenc Tamás and Tomatas were used as references for the reconstruction.

Űrkutatási évfordulók
Az űrkutatás évfordulóiról és mérföldköveiről adott ki kisívet a Magyar Posta nemrég. A tervpályázatra engem is meghívtak, amin nagy örömmel vettem részt, mert mióta kiskoromban az Ég és Föld című könyvet (Kiss István tök jó illusztrációival) lapozgattam, imádom az űrkutatást. A pályázat egyik fontos eleme volt, hogy az ifjúság számára is érthető és szerethető bélyegeket tervezzünk. A kisíven négy eseményt kellett bélyegpárokban és egyet ívszélen megjeleníteni. A pályázaton, nem engem választottak, de azért elkészítettem az első napi bélyegzőt és a boríték tervet is.
Space exploration anniversaries
The Hungarian Post invited me to a competition, to design a miniature sheet about space exploraiton anniversaries and milestones in 2015. The original idea of the Post was that each pair of stamps should represent a major event about space exploration, and one extra should appear in the edge. This was my submission.
Idén ünnepli 100. évfordulóját a budapesti buszközlekedés, amiről a Magyar Posta bélyegkiadással is megemlékezik. A buszok 1915 március elsejétől negyedóránként szállítottak utasokat az Andrássy úton. Mivel megállók akkoriban még nem voltak, a felszálláshoz inteni kellett a sofőrnek. A bélyegen az első két forgalomba állított típus látható. A baloldali egy benzinmotoros, ami a kistarcsai Gép- és Vasútfelszerelési Rt. üzemében készült, a jobboldali pedig egy Austro-Daimler gyártmányú, villamos meghajtású, emeletes busz. A bélyeg grafikai vázlatterve a Magyar Posta Zrt. pályázatára készült. Az archív képek forrása: Magyar Műszaki és Közlekedési Múzeum
Megjegyzés: a posta kérésére nem szerepel a bélyegen a Magyarország felirat és a Ft jelzés.
The bus service of Budapest celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and the Hungarian Post commemorates the event with the issue of a single stamp. The first buses started on 1th March 1915, there weren’t any bus stops, so people have to sign with hand to the driver wherever they wanted to get on or off. The stamp shows the first two types of buses that carried passengers in Budapest. The left vehicle was made by the Gép és Vasútfelszerelési Rt (Machine and Railway Equipment Ltd.) of Kistarcsa, equipped with a petrol engine, and the double decker was made by Austro-Daimler with an electric engine. if there is an article in english about the situation i cant find it right now so i'll attempt to sum it up
basically our pseudo fascist government granted themselves emergency powers at the beginning of the pandemic and among other things they have been using it to slowly take away thw lgbt community's rights and freedom. trans people can no longer change their name and gender marker and gay couples can no longer adopt children
and most recently (last night actually) a law that is supposed to protect against child predators was changed so that "sex education in schools cannot promote the changing of one's sex or homosexuality" on top of that sex education programs can only be done by the school or a database of organizations maintained by the government. the breaking of these rules (aka telling kids its okay to be trans) would get both the organizer AND the principal of the school into major trouble (think jail)
additionally children under 18 cannot be shown advertisements or educational content containing homosexuality or transgender "propaganda" these materials MUST be marked 18+
40% of all hungarian lgbt individuals have admitted to suicidal ideation, with 30% percent admitting to attempting it. our government is framing this as the protection of the children but what it will actually do is kill even more lgbt kids.
im incredibly angry so i'm sorry if this is not well phrased but this needs to stop because the path we're heading down is gonna end really fucking bad for the hungarian lgbt+ community
