How the BBS Fandom is to Me

The BBS mean so, so much to me. Ever since that day I stumbled upon their videos, my life completely changed. I fell in love with the interactions, the humor, and of course, the fandom.

I hear about the sorrow of the fandom that it disgusts the BBS and makes us, the fans, guilty. But without the fandom and the incredible people who made support and create amazing fanfiction, I wouldn’t be here. I understand the guilt behind the fans, but I the BBS can say whatever they want about the fandom, I love it in any way.

It may be odd, but fans are important. Probably more important than the star we are a fan of. We, the fans, are the reason why the star we admire is in the place they are. The star even mentions themselves that they thank us for the support they receive from us. We tend to just say it’s no biggy, but as I thought about it, there’s way more meaning behind those words. Think about it, what would you do if you had a fan? Exactly, you’d be overjoyed and possibly a bit overwhelmed that a random stranger loves what you do. It motivates the star to keep moving forward to keep that appreciation. If you’re BBS fan, you might have heard numerous times that the BBS thank us with al their heart and are here where they are without us.

The fandom you say? Well, that’s simple. Fandom are the incredible ideas the fans gain by being inspired by the star. No matter how disgusting, horrible, uncomfortable the fandom is, I love it. The many fanfics I read inspired me to start something I never thought in my life I would achieve. As I wrote my own fanfics, I realized the true meaning of what writing is like. Sure, finfics may not be actual professional writing, but I could care less and embrace the amazing ideas fans have created. My fanfics haven’t gone far yet, but if I never started writing them fro inspirations form you guys, I wouldn’t be here. Now I’m making an original project that would not have happened if I never met you guys.

My life before I got into the BBS, I had no idea what to do with my life. In fact, I barely even remember my life before getting into the BBS! Now here am I finding interest in the unique life as a YouTuber. Honestly, if I never accidentally stumbled upon a random recommended Vanossgaming video on YouTube, I might’ve gotten myself hooked on the MCYT/Dream SMP. Now I have no interest in them.

That last thing I said...let me talk about this. The MCYT has pretty much taken over the internet by now lately, has it? Honestly IDK if it does anymore since I have no interests. There are going to be so many people who’ll hate me for not liking them. I tried! Really! I tried to like them! I tried to get attached! But I couldn’t. I just couldn’t get that kick like everyone else had. I think I do understand why you guys love them so much, but I still didn’t get the kick. I’m sorry.

When I thought about this, I realized I was scared. Scared to move on. Am I really that stubborn? Am I really that attached to the BBS? Maybe. And maybe I’m afraid to leave them behind. Multiple artists that I follow that used to be in the BBS fandom have moved on and joined the MCYT fandom. Like one of them was working on a an amazing fancomic of the BBS and now their no longer motivated to continue and joined the MCYT. Same for another, they were eager and excited for the future of the BBS (like Alpha Betas), and now they threw that all away and moved on to the MCYT. It was then I realized the BBS was falling apart. I felt like there was no hope for them, but that wasn’t the case, right? That’s why I would be overjoyed to find someone who’s still or at least is into the BBS. I know the fan community is dying, but it’s, well, not dead yet. Maybe Alpha Betas has revived a bit of the community, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

What I want saying is that everyone moves on and maybe I should too, but I can’t. Like I said, I tried, but I can’t. Another thing I realized is that I’m someone who likes to leave things in the past, (Maybe that’s why I hate history class...) but as said numerous times, I just couldn’t leave the BBS behind. It then clicked in my head is that the BBS community made me realize so much about myself. Maybe that’s why I’m so attached. Maybe that’s why I have no hopes or interests in the MCYT, or the new generation of YouTubers.

In conclusion, the BBS changed my life, and from now on I will always be part of it.

Thanks for staying.
