Made a few hoodie sprite versions of sweet baby Kage for 2-Headed Boy. It's not much, I'm still trying to kind of piece parts of my life together, so I appreciate everyone's patience. And as some of you have said, progress is still progress!

Would love if you wore his clothes but will "borrow" yours without asking (prefers if they are not washed). Not to wear, just as a comfort object for sleeping

Is not "introverted" in the sense of stereotypical "quiet, shy homebody" but being around everyone but Y/N drains him, needs downtime to recharge.
Not "extroverted" in the sense he is energized from being around people, but very outspoken and mouthy
Does not generally like killing anything, and if non-human especially doesn't like it (except for food). He will capture bugs and release outside, unless it's a mosquito, those are kill on sight

Yesterday I added the actual mechanics into the game for leveling up the cats at the café, and added a feather toy. Each cat activity makes 1 hour of in-game time pass per round (but in reality takes less than a minute). No worries though, when you're not doing specific activities, time passes normally in the game (1 minute in game is 1 real life minute etc.). So no need to rush.
You may or may not be thinking, sheesh just move on from the cats already and get back to work on the main point of this game; dating and yandere harassment! To which I say:

Good news, I fixed the resolution on my game. In all its glory the base engine has a really weird resolution that wants you to play in a small windowed mode, and trying to fullscreen stretches everything out and makes it looked real jacked up.
So that's fixed now, and I've fixed the screenshots on my Steam page that had a weird stretch on them to reflect the change.
Edit tho: I had to readjust the dialogue windows because as you can see in this example, they were still stretching out strangely in the resolution correction. So that will be fixed/look normal for stuff I post from here out!
Don't forget, if this game looks like something you might enjoy, you can wishlist it on Steam. Just a cute free to play about trying to navigate the dating scene with a yandere stalker guy ever-looming. It's a love story, albeit a toxic one. And some trauma exploration thrown in there for flavor.

The neat thing about this game is that "I can fix him (or make him worse)" is kind of a core concept/overall theme of it, though in kind of an unusual way that I don't want to reveal online since it would spoil it a bit. But I think you will enjoy the game (I hope)!
The game inspiration is a little weird. It was just over a month ago that I started this, not too long after finishing the game Omori, which is also an indie game made in the same engine that I am using for my game (Omori is actually how I learned about this game engine's existence).
If you're unfamiliar with Omori, mental health and trauma are major themes in the game, and I loved how they combined that with sweet and sentimental themes too. It was just a really touching game that hit close to home to me. My game is definitely very different, but does deal with mental health/trauma and uses the same engine.
The other inspiration is going to sound terrible, but I was literally searching online for yandere games to play, and of course the first one that popped up in searches was Yandere Simulator, and since I literally live in a cave I didn't know about it. I went to the game's website and wasn't really impressed with it, didn't care for the art or design or any of it, the only thing I liked was the idea of playing as a yandere and stalking your crush, but it sounds like the game is stuck forever in demo/testing mode and won't ever be finished anyway.
Also the lack of male yanderes was disappointing, but whatever, not every game is made for me. :) But I thought, wouldn't it be cute to go the other way with it, and make a game where YOU are being stalked by a yandere who is obsessed with you...? I did find a TON of visual novels online that have that as a theme, but I personally prefer RPG style games where there is some gameplay and you can move your character around, so I decided to go for that instead, from what I can see there are way less of those available with a male yandere stalker. In fact, I haven't found ANY so far, but I probably just didn't look hard enough.
Kage is kind of an externalized (and somewhat exaggerated) expression of all my own weird traumas, insecurities, and issues, which isn't something I'm super proud of but also something I've had to work really to overcome, which I AM proud of. He's like my "shadow" self if you're familiar with Jungian psychology, which is why I named him "Kage," it's just Japanese for "shadow" lol.

So excited to say that I took the leap yesterday and paid the $100 fee to publish a Steam page for 2-Headed Boy! Started the application process but I am waiting for them to verify my identity and tax info before I can even start making the page.
No release date set for this yet since I'm only a month into this project, but the entire internet and Steam itself seems to think it's never too early to get your page up.
I hope it's worth it and people like the game ;w; while I'm doing this for the love of creation and not money, I wouldn't hate it if anyone wanted to pitch in on the Steam fee either (I've actually sunk a few hundred into this already between software programs, plug-ins, assets, art supplies, a basic light box etc.)

Added another love interest/rival to yandere for my yandere boyfriend RPG. New guy is Shinkiro (black hair), birthday August 24. Unlike Yurei (white haired glasses boy), Shinkiro is more outgoing and shameless. Yurei will try to avoid the yandere, and try to convince the player to also avoid him, pointing out his toxic behaviors. Shinkiro will deliberately antagonize yandere boy by flirting/being openly affectionate with the player in front of him.
Featuring a fully customizable MC for the player (gender, appearance, name, birthday and more). Free to play, WIP.
Phew, ok I'm finally ready to share the thing I've been working on. I suck at making videos but here is a demonstration trailer of my character creator I set up for the game, which I'm now calling 2-Headed Boy, and finally has a title screen (and I think I need to thicken the line on the "2" in the logo...). Now the player can have more customization options for their MC.
First pick your name, then some pronouns, then your appearance. Look masculine, feminine, some kind of mixture or androgynous, pretty much up to you. Choose your skin tone, eye color/style, eyebrow style/color, hairstyle/color(s) (or be bald), ears (or be earless), clothes and accessories (or run around in your underwear, idc). Tails and wings are optional.
The clothes are a mess right now, I need to go back and re-align all the portrait busts so I don't have to have a bunch of repositioned versions of the same outfit for different busts. And I need more outfits, these are default clothing/accessory assets I just redrew for my sprites.
Also I plan to add color shifters in for the ears and tails, and also put in human ears and maybe elf ears??
I know the neck category is super weird, the neck and head were a solid piece when I started, but I couldn't get the hair to layer properly with the faces so I had to sever the head from the neck.
If you have any requests/suggestions about outfits, accessories, ears, tails etc. lmk in my asks or comments! I will do my best to implement them...later. I need a break from working on the generator to focus on other parts of the game :)
If anyone remembers me posting a few days ago that I have a major update on my yandere boyfriend RPG "2-Headed Boy" coming, I'm just here to say I am hoping to have enough of it finished to show some footage by tomorrow!

For anyone following my yandere boyfriend rpg project progress, it's gonna be quiet on my page for a few days. I've got a *big* feature I'm working to implement that I think people will be excited about and I'm still trying to get it to all work together.
In the meantime, please accept this sweet heart from your sweetheart
Quick update, someone politely inquired about the pronoun setup in my game project yesterday, and to be honest I hadn't given it much thought.
But I decided, what the heck why not just decouple the player sprite's appearance from their in-game pronouns so they are separate questions when you're setting up your character at the beginning.
So you can use the feminine sprites with masculine pronouns or vice versa. I'll also add a 3rd set of "they/them" that can go to either sprite set too.
Not a hard thing for me to do and I'm sure it would make some people happier and nobody less happy, so that's a net positive for the game, and that's what we aim for here in my brain world. It's early enough in development that I don't have to revisit very much of what I already wrote into the game either so it's really nbd on that front.
Anyway will try to work on that sometime today if I get time between working my normie job

A walking tour of MC's grimy neighborhood in the fictional town of Midnight City, the main setting for my upcoming F2P yandere boyfriend game, "I Can Fix Him!"
As you can see, the game starts in autumn, and will include maps for all 4 seasons as well as time mechanics, day/night cycles, and time/season-dependent events (including your chosen birthday)! Also, random weather. In this map loaded, it decided to rain.
Using the redheaded female sprite for this footage. 4 hair colors available, male or female playable avatar, 4 planned skin tones for each. More customization options in the works! See my more recent post regarding the custom character generator!
Map design and layout by me as well as the sprites, character design and art. All other pixel assets on this map are by Kaue Luchetta and Grayfax software.
Reworked the game scene I made yesterday, added a panel, resized some stuff, made Kage's panels semi-transparent since that seemed to make more sense for the context of him being in another location from the player, and recolored his hair. Still didn't fix the options menu though, I don't want to decrease the font size because it will be hard to read I think. So that means going in and messing with the menu panel's height I think...

Also gonna darken Kage's hair. I was originally going to have some transparency for this shot of him, so I wasn't too worried about the hair tone, but I decided against that. Maybe I'll change my mind again. Either way it's getting darkened.
