despite the unfamiliarity with the music, beverly had never been one to shy away from dancing. whether it be for a middle school talent show or even an event such as this it always served as a proper DISTRACTION. it’s difficult to overthink when the beat of the music is pounding against ears, one’s heart. beverly stopped however when she spotted bill. her usual smirk warming her features as she shuffled over. “i must say, you’ve all come a long way from the whitey tighties,” bev jested, nudging his shoulder lightly with her own. “you enjoying the party so far ?? well i guess i should say, ball. it is rather fancy. who’d of thought us LOSERS would ever be invited to one, huh ??” @wxlksxflxfx / bill denbrough.
beverly’s practiced, silent footsteps inside && outside her childhood home took years to master. but, they did her well even now as she snuck back into the venue after a smoke break. she’d been trying to quit, but the DREAMS — they were just getting worse with each face she recognized ( though, she’d take it, if it meant seeing them all again ). she was moving towards the drinks when she spotted him, smile warm as she propped herself up next to him. “i saw a YELLOW WARBLER the other day.” she mused as if they had just spoken yesterday, not ten years or more ago. “i remembered them from your book. so keep an eye out stanny, i think they’re slowly coming back since it’s getting a little warmer.” @spcllbovnd / stanley uris.

Ben was up late, as usual, working on some mock-up designs for a project, which would have been fine if he didn’t have to be up this morning. So, he decided to stop by The Grind and grab a coffee, and maybe a breakfast pastry, before what was sure to be another long day. It wasn’t until he heard not only a familiar phrase, but a familiar voice that made his heart practically leap out of his chest as he quickly turned around. “ Beverly…? ” He muttered, taking a moment to look at her, just to be sure it wasn’t a coincidence. No, he’d know her face anywhere. “ Oh my God, Bev. ” Tears started welling up in his eyes as he quickly wrapped her in a hug.

TOUCH — her body momentarily stiff ( questioned intentions ever since childhood, always expecting the worst ) until his arms wrapped around her. realization immediately struck, soft smile dazzling across lips as arms curled around him in turn. “ben hanscom.” now there was no doubt. he was the kindest of all she knew, from her past && present ; she wouldn’t doubt future too. “it’s good to see you.” despite the years it had been since she last remembered seeing him beverly inexplicably felt at HOME, a feeling she had rarely felt even now that life had considerably calmed since being out of derry. a chuckle, soft hand moved comfortingly up && down his spine. “c’mon new kid, it’s only been a few years.” she lightly teased. if anything she was almost ashamed that even for a moment she had forgotten him, all of the losers. “you guys decide to have a reunion or something without me ?? joke’s on all of you cause i was already here.”
beverly knew better than to expect the line to be short at the grind, especially early in the morning. like many others, the redhead needed a strong cup of coffee to even start her day. bev always wanted to be a morning person && yet every morning it’s the same — alarm instantly snoozed ... usually several times. unable to stop a yawn from parting lips, she let out a grumpy, yet slightly amused chuckle. “is there a SECRET PASSWORD or something ??” she playfully implored to the person in front of her. “something we could say to make them take us next or miraculously make the line go faster ??” a jest, && perhaps a lot of wishful thinking, but the idea made the wait a little more bearable. @edgcofgreat / ben hanscom.
hands brushed through fabric samples, weighing her options for what she wanted to create next. however, at her name she turned to the other, confusion immediate. his face, so FAMILIAR yet near impossible to place. memories have always been a bit f o g g y , but that’s how it always got with age, right ?? “bill.” the name pushed past her lips before she fully recognized him, memories of a voice calling out ‘ hi-yo, silver, away !! ’, the quarry, a house on neibolt street, suddenly coming to mind. “holy shit !!” she chuckled, smile warm. “i’ve been here quite a while.” at least to her it felt like it. “portland didn’t work out,” she shrugged, already feeling desperate to keep up with her ever racing mind. “what about you ?? here i thought derry was small ; guess the whole world is.”

Bill had ran into a few members of the Loser’s Club, but he hadn’t seen all of them yet. There had been no sign of Pennywise, which brought both relief and a little bit of worry. While Bill wanted to believe that they were in the clear, but of him felt like it wasn’t going to be that easy. He had been lost in his own thoughts when his eyes landed upon a familiar girl. Bill could feel himself pause before he finally called out to her. “Beverly?” He questioned, jogging over to her. “Is that you? When did you get here?”
